I think you are very right.If the man is feeling inferior and emasculated because he is reporting to his wife, then this is his own issue and not the issue of the organization.So if he is not strong enough to deal with it, then he should take an appropriate decision for himself and quit the job altogether...instead of asking HR at SNG to help him circumvent the reporting structure.To the extent that it is about one spouse reporting to the other, HR may have policies that are gender neutral in nature to ensure that favouritism and bias are not shown by the supervisory spouse to the subordinate spouse.But to get into issues of a man not feeling good about reporting to his wife because of inferiority complex issues or broader issues of how it looks or how it places him in front of his friends is not the lookout of the organization... that is the man's personal lookout.
