Kim Soo-Hyun Case: Actor submits 150 letters written to his actual lover from military as proof

After a lull of many months, the investigations in the Kim Soo-Hyun case have gained some momentum. It seems there was some issue with the jurisdiction of the case that led to delays. The actor had filed it in Gangnam while other parties did it elsewhere. This led to technical issues while investigating the case. The fact that one the main parties is deceased and personal life is involved has made it rather delicate. Now, a lawyer who is representing Kim Soo-Hyun’s case said the actor has submitted proof. The family of late Kim Sae-ron had claimed that the affair lasted from 2016 to 2021. This meant that he began to date her when she was a minor though she had crossed age of legal consent.

Ko Sang Rok of Phil Law Firm who is representing Kim Soo-Hyun said he has submitted 150 letters he wrote to his then-girlfriend, Ms A. It seems he wrote them by hand, and would personally give them to her when they met during his vacations. He had enlisted in 2017 after his movie Real tanked at the box office. It seems he was too scared of mailing them fearing what if they got lost or were leaked to someone. A sample of the same has come in the media.

Excerpts from Kim Soo-Hyun's letters to Miss A

In one of the letters he writes that he wants to live new experiences with Miss A. It reads: I’m definitely going to go on a trip with her this time next year. I’ll do everything new and never done before with her. We will go far for a long time. I want to cherish and love each other deeply, but sometimes fight and make up. There are so many things I want to experience.

In another lette dated in August 2018, he writes that he has become a better boyfriend after being in the military. It reads: I’m getting hit reality in the military, but one thing is clear. I am treating her better than before I enlisted. I still miss her and want to see her. I’m grateful to be able to make her feel good and happy. I’m reflecting deeply and grateful every day she waits for me.

No one from Kim Sae-ron’s side has reacted on this. The photo she shared was from 2020 when she was 19 years old. A number of Kim Soo-Hyun’s friends knew the woman in his life when he was in the military.
