Part-10

Ram and Vikram come home after a long day. Ram goes straight to Niharika's room.

Ram: Maa, what is this, I was waiting for Sid at office all day long. He didn't even give me a call.

Niharika: I don't know where Sid is, I haven't seen him all day. Shayad Kisi dost ke paas ruka hoga. Ek ya do din Mein aajayega.

Ram: Par Maa. Singapore Project.

Niharika: Does it matter if it starts a little late? What is important the project starting on time or Sid working on it and learning?

Ram: Maa, of course Sid. Theek hai, let's give him a day or two's time.

Ram goes to Dadi, as she had asked him to meet him in the evening after returning. Priya, Neha and Vikram were already in the room with Dadi.

Ram: Dadi, apne milne kahan tha.

Dadi: Haan Golu, mujhe ne ek shaadi ka nyota aaya hai Chandigarh se.

Ram: Toh aap jaana chahte hai toh, main saari arrangements kar deta hoon.

Dadi: Nahi Golu, tujhe toh pata hai, main abhi yahan se hil nahi Sakti, na Mein train chad Sakti, na flight, toh main chahti hoon, Ki meri taraf se tum aur Priya jao wahan.

Ram: Haan theek hai Dadi, Kya problem hai, aap bata dijiye kab, kahan jaana hai, hum chale jaayenge.

Priya: Yeh aap Kya keh rahen hai? Naatak ka Kya? Pakde jaayenge.

Dadi: Natak?

Ram and Vikram explain the whole situation.

Dadi: Us Niharika Ki majal jo meri Priya aur Golu ke saath kuch bhi Karen, uski haddi-pasli Ek kardoongi.

Priya: Shaant ho jayiye Dadi, hum unko shaanti se nipat rahen Hain na.

Ram: Haan Dadi, hum unko kaamiyab nahi hone denge, isiloye toh Neha aur Vikram ko bhi humare saath rehne bulaya Hain.

Vikram: Ram, ek kaam karte Hai, main aur Neha bhi chalte Hai tumhare saath, hum chaaro ka saath mein vacation bhi ho jayega aur Niharika Ji ko bhi koi shak nahi hoga.

Neha: Kyun kabab mein haddi bana rahe ho? Woh dono ko akele rehna hoga.

Ram: Nahi Neha, that's a brilliant idea Vikram. First outing for the four of us and it will be fun.

Dadi: Toh phir teh hogayana.

Neha: Dadi, Abhi aapko, thoda natak Karna padega.

Ram and Vikram go to their rooms to freshen up, while Priya and Neha hangout in the garden.

Vikram: Ram, Tu tayyar hogaya?

Ram: Haan, ek minute aa raha hoon.

Vikram: Wow yaar, it's been so many years, that I have seen you in a polo man. By the way have you lost a little weight? Tara tummy thoda andar gaya Hai.

Ram: Haha. Ya, Priya doesn't like me my boring suits. She bought a lot of tshirts and polo's for me in London. I have been working out everyday, since the time I realized I was in love. Priya doesn't know, I have a trainer and it shows na.

Vikram: Jo main aur Neha samjha nahi sake, woh baat bina bole Priya ne kardikhaya. Ab samjha don Mein do-teen ghante jo gayab ho jata Hai, so you are hitting the gym Haan?

Ram: Yes my dear bouy! But, I want us to go out. I want to spend some time with you, Neha and Priya. Let's go out na.

Vikram: Humko Kyun Bula raha Hai? Kabab Mein haddi.

Ram: Nahi Vikram. I never thought I would get married, forget falling in love. I always thought I would be all alone hanging out with you two forever. Look at fate now, I have a wife. I feel like we should hangout like couple outside home.

Vikram: I don't know about you, but I used to look forward to this day and I'm glad Priya is a girl, who enjoys our company as well as we do. It's a good plan.

Ram: Bina koi shak ke, I want the for of us to hangout. Plan something Vikram.

Ram calls Neha on her cell.

Ram: Neha, Priya Hai saamne?

Neha:Haan. Kyun?

Ram: Don't react much, I want the four of us to go out and party sorts. So, I and Vikram will leave in my car, you and Priya, get ready and meet us at the end of the road.

Neha: Oh ok.

Ram: If I let my wife by herself to get ready, she will dress up in a saree. Please see to it she dresses up. I have a surprise for her and you as well. I and Vikram will be waiting in the car. Just ghar Mein batadena Ki, tumhare Kisi friend ke bachelorette party Mein jaarahe ho. And please manage Priya.

Neha: Ok fatty. Too many instructions. Relax I will handle everything.

After a lot of protest, Priya agrees to wear a little black dress and Neha as usual looks hot. They get ready and come down to be greeted by Niharika.

Niharika: Kahan jaa rahe ho tumlog? Ram aur Vikram ke saath kahin jaa rahe ho?

Priya, I didn't know you could carry yourself in western clothing, but this is a surprise.

Neha: Nahi, we are going to my friends bachelorette party. Ram and Vikram have gone out for some pool, so we thought we girls should have fun too.

Niharika: Sure sure, why not?

Neha and Priya leave the house.

Niharika: Woh gayi, western kapde pehen ne lagi Hai. Kuch toh ho raha Hai bhaiyya.

Mamaji: Kya ho raha Hai? Biwiyan apne party Mein gayi Hai, aur pati apne. Pehle Sid kahan Hai us baat Ki chinta kar.

Niharika: Aajayega do-teen din Mein jaldi Kya Hai.

Priya: Hum chal kyun rahe hain? Let's take a cab na? ek toh tumne, mujhe yeh dress pehenne ki zid ki, ab road pe chalwa kyun rahi ho?

Neha: Offo Priya, bilkul patience nahi hai tum mein, meri tarah.

Priya: Ab tumhari dost hoon, tumhare sangati ka asar toh hoga hi na.

Neha: Hahaha. Very funny, woh dekhon, humare drivers aagaye.

Priya: Drivers? Kaun?

Ram: Jaldi baiton gaadi mein.

Priya: Yeh kya ho raha hai? Bachelorrette party mein aap bhi aa rahe ho? Wahan sirf ladkiyon ko allowed hai. Neha kya hai yeh sab?

Vikram: Priya, Neha get in quickly, we don't want anybody to notice us, please, we will explain, once we start.

Priya and Neha get in to the back of the car.

Priya: Now, you any of you tell me what is happening?

Ram: Nothing, we are going out, to chill and relax!

Priya: So, you lied to me Neha?

Neha: Mujhpe itna gussa mat dikhao, yeh sab kuch tumhare pati ka idea hai.

Priya stares at Ram in the mirror, who was avoiding looking back. He was acting as he was seriously driving.

Everyone is silent until they reach the lounge.

Neha: Wow, Ram this is the same place, we used hangout when we were in college na?

Ram: Yes madam.

Priya still a little irritated with Ram. Ram approaches her.

Ram: Listen Priya, woh, I was just telling Vikram, how I always felt that I wouldn't get married and forget falling in love, now that all of that happened, there is a new me, the three of us have been an Auto-rikshaw, now with you, we are complete.

Neha: What an example Ram? If this is how you are going to explain things to your wife, chod degi tumhe!

Ram: Nahi, what I meant is, I have been a haddi or the third wheel to Neha-Vikrams relationship, now, I have somebody to share my life with and like Vikram said, it is such a relief who treats my friends as her and is as friendly as they are to her. I have always lived with forced relations, for a change I have a genuine relationship, and I want to spend time with the most important people of my life.

Priya smiles, indicating, she understood, what Ram was hinting at.

Vikram: So, now that everyone is cool, can we go in? Waise Priya, must say, you look very different and pretty, in the dress.

Priya: Thanks, Vikram, but, I still have a bone to pick with Ram. Why do you keep forcing me to dress up in these?

Ram: (Sheepishly): Woh, remember a couple of days ago, I visited your parents' house to meet Choti?

Priya: yes?

Ram: Your mother made me sit by her side to show all your photos right from your birth to before marriage and I happened to find a photo of you from a college party or something where you were in this red dress and I thought you look cute. What is your problem, if I want to see my wife in any clothing of my liking?

Priya, shocked, turns red.

Neha: Ahem, ahem. By the way fatty, yeh tum kabse itna bolna shuru kiye ho? Tum toh aise na the!

Vikram: Ram, aaj kal bahut kuch karne laga hai Neha, jo, kisi se share nahi karta.

Ram: Chup rahega tu?

Once inside the lounge, Ram removes his coat and places it on the side.

Neha: Ram? You in a polo? Not in a suit?

Priya: You finally wore this! That too in Mumbai?

Ram: I told you, I have a surprise for both of you!

Vikram: Neha, Priya ko toh pata chal gaya hoga, lekin humare yeh Ram babu, weight loose kiye hai.

(NOTE: I always felt, in the series, there have been phases, where Ram has been unbelievably fat and later he lost weight, I would have loved, somebody acknowledged that, rather than kept pulling his leg about being fat. For the love of #Mr.Kapoor!)

Priya: Vikram, you too!

They order for some drinks, food and the friendly banter continues.

Neha: Waise, how come Ram? Weight loss?

Ram: I just felt like.

Neha: Kabse?

Ram: About 20 days or more. I have lost about 5-6kgs.

Neha: Priya, tumko pata chala ki nahi?

Ram: Bas karo yaar, itna Priya ka sharmaana, main handle nahi karpaaunga.

After a couple of drinks, Neha and Priya get out of control.

Neha: Let's play truth or dare!

Ram: Neha, darling, nahi college ke days yaad aarahe hai, college mein phir se barti mat karwao!

Priya: No, Neha is right, we should play something.

Vikram: haan, chalna, khelte hai!

They spin the bottle and the bottle's head faces Vikram.

Vikram: Truth!

Priya: Vikram, you have to tell one truth about Ram, which Neha and I don't know.

Ram: Sabhalke mere bhai! Mujhe apne hi kamre mein sona hai.

Neha: Arey wah Priya, what an amazing question!

Vikram: Ram, bahut acha hai, yeh tumlog bhi jaante ho, but you guys don't know, that bahut chugalkhor tha college mein. Woh, hum ladko ki baatein, ladkiyon ko leak karta tha and he was quite popular, but only very few knew about this.

Ram: Thank you!

Neha: Ram, tumne kabhi Vikram ki chugli nahi ki mere saath? Kyun?

Ram: Aisa kuch tha hi nahi bolne ke liye toh.

One after the other the turns go on, until the bottle faces Ram, he chooses truth and Neha decides to ask the question disturbing her!

Ram: Truth

Neha: Ram, I want to know, if you had a girlfriend whom, I have no idea about!

Ram: yeh kaisa sawaal hai?

Priya: batayiyena.

Vikram: Enjoy Ram. I'll order for the main course.

Ram: Do you guys remember, that exchange student from France?

Vikram: Linda?

Neha: Tumhe bada yaad hai uska naam?

Ram: Haan, every guy in the college was behind her, I as usual, wasn't, but one evening, I was in the library, koi game chal raha tha college mein, so most of the students were in the ground and Linda came, looking for the book, which I was reading. We started talking, that went on for a few days, I kept it a secret and people hardly had the guts to talk to her, so, I was cool.

Neha: bas itna hi?

Ram: Haan.

Priya: So?

Vikram: Ram, you didn't even share this with me.

Ram: Aise, kuch nahi hai.

Neha: you need to spill everything Ram, otherwise, aaj mein tumhare bedroom mein sonewali hoon.

Ram: Ok. Ok. Semester khatam hone wala tha, we were sad, we started hanging out in her apartment more, one night after dinner, one thing led to another and we slept together and had a long-distance relationship for a couple of months, then she moved on and I got busy with my life.
