I agree with you there, Poshah...That is exactly what they will show to justify Sudhir not working...
i think in tis case, Sudhir has never been able to financially support his family, probably he had a loss or for whateer reason he lost his job etc..because if he were working why would Priya have to work to support the family..It is only recently Kartik has started working..so there is some other reason behind Sudhir never working
However, Sudhir can read, write, shop, drive, do accounts, go for family outings, parties etc... They have never shown that he has any health issues even in passing...like taking medicines, resting in his room, having food restrictions etc... He does seem to have stopped working too soon (atleast 12-15 years ago -considering that Priya has been working since her college days)...
Here it is not a question of old age and respect and Indian values and idealistic rhetoric... It is a quetion of a man not meeting his responsibilties or even trying to...They even showed Shipra having a boutique...They show everyone working, but do not show Sudhir even making an attempt or discussing a wish that he was working/why he wasn't working etc...he is most unambitious...and happy with the situation as it is...all children including his wife working...and himself not...for whatever reason...
So, I had stated that there are such families where the children take over if the parent shows any slight sickness or inablitlity...and the parent happily gives in... Nothing wrong...Just statement of a fact... 😊
