That line with "choppers" was lol so meh-ish and immature if you ask me. But looking from what we have seen of that character, it seemed okay-ish. One thing i didn't get is that how come her dad just sat there and said nothing? How come he agreed to the marriage after Priya gave a nod? Everyone knows that such marriages with such a big age and generation differences hardly last long and that too if the girl's agreeing because she's thinking she'll be living a lifestyle of a princess and not because she likes the man even a tad bit. how come they all just gave in and happily went to do the roka?

Because apparently THEY showed her these dreams...cuz apparently the "rajkumar" that Priya always told her about was only meant to be rich, period...age, personality, other differences don't matter it seems😆

I honestly didn't get the logic...but that's what Priya said...that THEY were the ones who gave all these "dreams" to Ayesha so now they can't back off from letting her achieve those dreams if she's getting a chance😕

This is all so W*F-ish anyways...I'm only waiting to see the RP scenes😆...Ayesha and her "logic" can take a hike *rolls eyes*

LOL she says it right after she says, "I want a guy who can buy me big cars..."...that entire spiel about "big car to take me to big movie premieres" blah blah blah.

Well, all the fairytales we read about have princes who live in castles, who pick an ordinary girl and pluck her out of obscurity to make her a princess. They are all about lost glass slippers, fairy godmothers and reviving kisses. Even if we take Ayesha's words very literally, that THESE were the dreams they gave her, it's not hard to see where that aspiration comes from. So many girls, they read Mills & Boon, they play with Barbie, they watch Disney fairytales and grow up believing it can happen. Now most girls would know how to differentiate between fact and fiction, but some girls, especially those who are pampered youngest children (read: my sister 😆) could very well believe in those dreams.

Wait...so disney fairytales are supposed to be interpreted as a "prince will come and take me away to live in his castle, period"?? We aren't supposed to dwell on what the "prince" is like, period?? Then they should have made all the "princes" fat and BUDDHA, man...Ayesha's dream come true😆

Where do the fairytales end? When the prince and princess get married. What do we know about the prince in Sleeping Beauty? Or Cinderella? Or Snow White? Nothing. Yes, they are classically good-looking, but beyond that I think they actually do have exactly the same face as each other. They are a representation of an ideal as opposed to real men.

As for the women, they too are all the same; Cinderella is a stepdaughter forced into slavery, Snow White ditto, Aurora is a princess stolen by a bunch of fairies to protect her from the wicked witch, and grows up in...you guessed it, poverty. These clearly aren't tales meant to be idealised, but if a girl grows up watching that, she naturally comes to think of it as normal.

LOL Vasu, I can see your point but I think you are giving more depth to Ayesha's thought process than there actually IS...😆

true that about fairytales and such. But don't you think that girls who believe so much in those tales are mostly little girls and well tweens.
When one gets older, you learn to differentiate between fairytales and reality yourself. You don't rely on others to show you the difference unless ofcourse you don't have the capability to think for yourself.

Ayesha's been spoon-fed her entire life. She can only be dependent on others because that's what her mother and Priya have done to her. Pampered her and her "dreams" so much so that she can't help but think what she thinks.

hehe.. so most of yaa have discussed all that I wanted to say. 😆

So will keep it short ...
--what is being *middle-class* ?
-- when is an age difference is too much? if 8 years is ok with age diff, then why is 9 suddenly too much? if 9 is ok, then why is 10 suddenly too much .. and so on.. you get my drift? hehe.. so what is the diff between 10 years and 20 years ... haha .. so I agree that Ram can no longer qualify to be a boy , he is man for sure..
--What is Spineless Sudhir's need in the whole series? So far, nothing he has said or did, mattered. Everything is supposedly done by Priya. I would have at least liked her to say she emotionally is dependent on Priya's opinion, but to totally discount Sudhir was kind of jarring, even though I am definitely not a fan of him.
--Ayesha's argument to agree for the marriage, is a basic tendency of hers. It is amazing that with Priya and Karthik around, her thinking is so warped. I guess, even Priya realised that when she said, that they couldn't afford to say no to her wish.

and yes, it seems like the Kapoors and the Sharmas are going to be married in a scheme of one kapoor pey one sharma free free free .. . unless there are few more Kapoors and Sharmas that are still floating around and still not touched down on the BALH planet...

Newhoo, even though I hate all tamashas in series, where every drama element happens in pubic settings, for Ram-Priya, I will watch the explosion of Priya in the ceremony ...

@Anu - lol, probably. But then overthinking is my speciality 😆. I guess having studied fairytales as part of my degree I naturally see more in them than the average tween; I can't even watch Snow White without wanting to hurt that girl for her sheer stupidity 😆

@Amy - true that you normally grow out of it by a certain age. But 22 is not that old either. My sis is turning 21 this year and trust me she can be as immature as a 12 year old in some things 😆. I guess you're right about Ayesha being spoonfed and if Priya or anyone had given some more thought to educating her to temper her dreams as well as to, well, fulfil them, then she might have had a different thought process. But with parents like hers I don't blame her for wanting to escape that mediocrity 😳
