When a creation evolves of its own accord

That was Yamini today basically...reiterating that Nikumb has transformed her from the inside...given her the courage to speak up and even fight with him...she thanked him profusely for bringing about this change in her...and at that moment, Nikumb smiled...little did he know how much his own teachings will come back to haunt him😆

Follow your heart, he told her...follow your heart even when the whole world tells you you're wrong...follow your heart, no matter how many naysayers you come across...follow your dreams even if everyone else says they will never be fulfilled...

Well today Yamini took that piece of advice to heart like never before😆...

Be careful what you wish for, they say...and that is exactly what has happened with Nikumb...he wanted to MAKE her Shakuntala...he wanted to extract Shakuntala from a timid Yamini...well Yamini has taken this whole BEING Shakuntala business a little to much to heart now😆...a little TOO literally now...Nikumb shaped this Shakuntala according to his vision...he chose Yamini to breathe life into that vision...but now Yamini feels one with that life force and she feels SHE knows Shakuntala better than Nikumb the one who created her...lol...this is all just very amusing to me...the host of ironies in this...damn good writing👏

The creation has evolved beyond what the creator ever expected from her...in her impulse to follow her heart, Yamini has ended up hurting Nikumb more than she can imagine.

So- Yamini is really going to DO IT tomorrow!

The creation just got bigger than the creator and it might take her places and win her accolades- but she will stand to loose the thing that might be the most precious- Nikumb's trust and dosti. Her new found inner confidence, her inner self which Nikumb was instrumental in igniting comes forth and strikes out where it hurts the most! Irony indeed! For a writer- especially for a person like Nikumb- his vision - his story is sacrosanct and I dont know how Yamini is going to undo this damage! Nikumb also will win the accolades along with Yamini - but its going be a very bittersweet victory for him- if he is indeed going to be present to gather those accolades after he walks off in a huff. Do you think he's going to come back? Azam might make him come back i guess?

BUT- however cynical, idealistic and 'bhaad main jaaye market value' Nikumb might be- even he couldnt keep away from the lure of inserting a 'trip- and-fall' scene from his play😆I had to guffaw at that- and the junta loved it too! No wonder- things are what they are on TV land!

Anu- have I ever said that to you- you write so coherently and manage to find the baarikiyaan so effortlessly!👏 Thats another reason I don't post much- I never sound coherent to myself and delete most of what I write generally.

Aww that is so sweet of you, Shalini...thank you :-) It is nice to hear good things considering I generally go around making enemies here :P

And don't sell yourself short...take a leap of faith and instead of just pondering, SAY what's in your mind...follow your heart, as Nikumb the great teacher would say 😆😆

haha@ the trip-catch...even I was laughing over that...and they really dragged it out to make a "moment" out of it...silliness...wish they would stay away from such cliches but oh well...atleast it was part of the theater production and not an actual bit b/w them...lol...I guess this is the only way to show "lowe" on stage😆

Yes, Yamini has put Nikumb in a tough spot...the accolades will come in and he will not want any part of them cuz they won't be for HIS work...and Raghu will leave no chance to lord it over him that Yamini is the reason for the play's success...so ek toh Nikumb will feel betrayed and on top of that, his pride and self-respect will also feel slighted...oh yeah Azam and Shaheen will play peacemakers as always.

This reminds me...another one of my fav. moments in the epi...when Raghu was trying to taunt Nikumb and Nikumb just replied, "aapki beti ka toh humein pataa nahin lekin humare play ki jo heroine hai, woh kamaal hai"😆😆

He put a lot of faith in Yamini and she chose the worst moment to catch him off-guard...now she will have to work to gain his faith back.

I was totally expecting it. This is obviously a way for the track to move on from the point where the play ends. Otherwise, many people were wondering how they were going to be in the same frame after the play. This is how.

Yamini got it ALL wrong! Yes, she has been transformed somewhat into this girl who has a better idea of herself and more confidence to stand up for it, she disregarded totally the trust bit. Nikumbh had placed his complete faith in her from the moment her first task began. And to break that trust is such a terrible sort of betrayal. Ever since the tasks began, I had been waiting for the moment when Yamini begins to question some of the things around her. And she questions this, at exactly the wrong moment! For someone like Nikumbh, this will be so difficult to accept. And I don't blame him one bit.

The play is obviously going to be a hit. Though I have no idea how Nikumbh is going to cover it up! Such a major improvisation, and pulling it off without looking majorly taken aback is going to be quite a task. They could have scrapped that bit with Yamini saying-that-this-version-is-more-marketable bit, though! I don't get that argument. There are countless examples of epic tragic stories. They sell just as well. Instead, I would have liked it better had they focused on Yamini's basic character. It is SO Yamini to want a happy ending because she just is like that! She is a romantic like that! It is not like Yamini to be bothered about the marketability of a particular thing.

Anyhow, I loved their patch up! It was beautiful! And especially so because Nikumbh was practically just swaying on the spot! 😆
It was like two people talking in two different languages and still understanding each other! And it's just sad that Yamini had to go and break that trust that forms the basis of this understanding! 😔

The play was going pretty well, though. I was amazed to see the sets and the costumes. Exactly how a play should be!

EDIT: Nikumbh's dialogue. That one about his lead heroine being kamaal! He always knows just the right thing to say to put Raghu off balance. And he makes it very clear. The star Yamini has no place here, it is Shakuntala. The character they have worked so hard over. And that is where Raghavendra cannot touch him!

I was practically banging my head with my fist during that trip-catch scene. They eat up so much screen space and there is much better content to show than lengthy eye-locks, even within the play. In fact, especially within the play. I don't know why the junta loved it so much?! I toh find these scenes maha pakau!

And I agree. Anu ji, you write so effortlessly, your threads are my go to place after every episode.

Well- I just came back to IF and I am still a little ZOMGed by what I heard in the Moonchiya land! medical marvels never cease to amaze me there- did you hear- the most ludicrous thing ever- one day it takes- just ONE f**ing day- after 'doing it' to find out that you are pregnant ST is on top of my cross list now- staying far away from any of his 'creations'!

Deep Breath in- Deep Breath out- OK- coming back- one thing I absolutely love is the casualness with which they hug each other, the way they danced together, even the way Nikumb checked Yamini over- very easy- very friendly- very real life and NOT- OMG look we TOUCHED! Very refreshing to watch.

Nikumb has best one-liners saved for Raghu and the best part is he says them so smoothly that Raghu is left wondering if that was a compliment or a barb. Dont think Raghu has it in him to understand the twist of words that Nikumb is capable of- till the time he doesnt loose his temper atleast! Sure we will see a lot of very barbed conversations between them- but pehle we'll have to tolerate all the gloating by Raghu over the play's success and Yamini's role in it. And Yamini will be silently simmering inside with guilt.

Nikumb teacher is partially right- but I have evolved over the years- become more practical- saying whats on your mind isnt always the right or the best thing to do!

haha yeah we were definitely expecting this based on her reactions yesterday...Yamini is still very naive and child-like in the way she gets attached to things and starts seeing them in black and white...Nikumb taught her something good...he taught her how to speak up...but she is yet to learn that PRUDENCE must also be exercised along with that empowering trait...yes, she wants the happy ending more for her satisfaction...actually somewhere I feel she's started to IDENTIFY with Shakuntala...started to think of herself as actually being Shakuntala...she's put herself into the shoes of her character that much and coming from that place, she feels Shakuntala would choose the happy ending, not give up on her love...This play is her last moment as Shakuntala and she even lamented today that she will have to go back to being just Yamini...she feels empowered AS Shakuntala, that's another reason she's taken this extreme step.

Yes, the patch up was just perfect and made me smile...so realistic the way relationships are explored in this show without cliched melodrama.

Yes, Nikumb knows just how to band bajaao Raghu who is no match for him when it comes to wordplay😆

Re: trip-catch...I'm just hoping it was a one-off for the play...I could ignore it cuz the epi otherwise was quite good.

Word to the bit in bold...I love that casual EASE in their relationship too...no hoo halla over physical contact and so friendly and easy...in some ways, I feel like Nikumb treats her like a kid too...that teacher-student vibe to their relationship comes though in the side-hugs...just genuine HUMAN emotion before anything else...that is nice to watch...

Actually that scene today when Nikumb thanks her was quite a nice one...loved the dialogues there...and again you get a sense of what this moment, this play MEANS to Nikumb...

Re: Nikumb teacher's advice...LOL diplomacy is not my strong suit, what can I say😛...hard for me to keep my mouth shut when I feel strongly about something...but chalo aap practically PONDER karo jee bhar ke😆
