hayee ! such interesting discussion going on !! me also dropped in like a hot potato !
Ostrich ji !! dont even utter that once awesome now irritating like a fly in your ear drama's name...thay hav totally lost it and now gone towards the totally cliched conjumashun-pegnancy-miscarriage-lunacy-again pregnancy-insanely delighted-baby born-mommy dead-second appearance as a seher ki ladki track !! let the trp aunties gobble it and diva's devotees shower flower over their aww-my-doll ! we r happy to get rid of it.
and I second anu, and tanisha. u write far more good than most of us...so take nikumbh baba's advice and express whatever comes in ur mind and I hav the confidence u r too forum- experienced to act naively 😆

Yamini got it ALL wrong! Yes, she has been transformed somewhat into this girl who has a better idea of herself and more confidence to stand up for it, she disregarded totally the trust bit. Nikumbh had placed his complete faith in her from the moment her first task began. And to break that trust is such a terrible sort of betrayal. Ever since the tasks began, I had been waiting for the moment when Yamini begins to question some of the things around her. And she questions this, at exactly the wrong moment! For someone like Nikumbh, this will be so difficult to accept. And I don't blame him one bit.

The play is obviously going to be a hit. Though I have no idea how Nikumbh is going to cover it up! Such a major improvisation, and pulling it off without looking majorly taken aback is going to be quite a task. They could have scrapped that bit with Yamini saying-that-this-version-is-more-marketable bit, though! I don't get that argument. There are countless examples of epic tragic stories. They sell just as well. Instead, I would have liked it better had they focused on Yamini's basic character. It is SO Yamini to want a happy ending because she just is like that! She is a romantic like that! It is not like Yamini to be bothered about the marketability of a particular thing.

Anyhow, I loved their patch up! It was beautiful! And especially so because Nikumbh was practically just swaying on the spot! 😆
It was like two people talking in two different languages and still understanding each other! And it's just sad that Yamini had to go and break that trust that forms the basis of this understanding! 😔

The play was going pretty well, though. I was amazed to see the sets and the costumes. Exactly how a play should be!

EDIT: Nikumbh's dialogue. That one about his lead heroine being kamaal! He always knows just the right thing to say to put Raghu off balance. And he makes it very clear. The star Yamini has no place here, it is Shakuntala. The character they have worked so hard over. And that is where Raghavendra cannot touch him!

I totally agree with u, somehow this was expected, after a big twist had 2 happen after the end of the play rite? Since Yamini got the idea of having a happy ending, I knew that she would actually change the ending of the play but doing it on stage, this was so bad. Even if she is doing this as she feels this is rite & that the play will be a hit with a happy ending, this is wrong. She is not the director of the play so that she can change the ending. 😔
Yamini went way 2 far while thinking & trying 2 live as Shakuntala 4 the last moment...And I kinda agree with u that Yamini is actually following her heart as she believes in romantic stuffs.
I felt so bad seeing the precap , with or without a happy ending it doesn't matter as long as the content, acting r gr8 4 the audience. Maybe this will be a hit with a happy ending but the sudden change, Yamini's big decision does matter 4 Nikumbh, this play was a big part of his life, his dream & no one would like if sbdy, even if that person is u friend 2 change ur creation at the end without ur approval rite?
This time the patch-up will be though but Azam-Shaheen r 2 help them. 😊

Regarding Nikumbh's dialogues 2 Raghu, seriously he is 2 gud, he knows how 2 handle him.
I was laughing at the "heroine" wala dialogue yesterday seeing Raghu's expressions. Nikumbh rocks! 😃

nd now coming to YaNi --- i love the way they are shown coming closer each passing day, promoted from being a new-comer---Mentor to colleagues to friends to confidantes and now to best friends without any stereotypical trip and fall (although Nikumbh fell twice over yamini once accidentally once intended by Azam Miyan😆) and haye-he-touched-how-I-cherish-the-moment and lastly minus any prolonged eyelocks !! how their confidence and comfort expanded with each other's flourishing mutual respect and appreciation and all in a natually real-life way. u could almost place finger at the gradual development, how far nikumbh has come from becoming dead embarrassed at the prospect of saying sorry to yamini to easily patch up with her with a smile, sorry and hopeless dance moves😆. u can also see how yamini transformed into his dream shakutala under his influence, how she thinks, voices her opinion, shines with confidence and liveliness in his presence, how much she enjoys each moment with him and how much her respect and admiration and gratitude grew each passing day. so much so that with that overwhelming urge to do something good for him, to help him secure a place of fame in the world, in her enthusiasm to be the character truely he had envisioned she takes the worst possible step that would ruin the beautiful relationship they shared, the shatter the utmost trust nikumbh had for her . In her own whim of wish-fufilment, she commits the crime of tampering with a writer's original work, made a mockery of his sensibility and thus falling in his eyes, perhaps forever.

Ohh so YaNi is the name you guys finally came up with?😆 Reminds me of that famous musician Yani😆...chalo it's better than some other maha dumb couple names I've seen floating around.

Yes, Yamini transformed into Shakuntala just as Nikumb wanted...what he didn't anticipate though was how deep of an influence this transformation would have on Yamini and that courage and confidence she's gathered may end up being misdirected at the worst moment...

Chalo insaan galti kar ke hi seekhta hai...if there were no mistakes made, how else would they grow to truly understand each other?😊

Totally. Yamini did go a little too far, though it is not totally unlike her. It is like her to have that kind of optimism and faith. But yeah, she disregarded the trust and she will have to make up for it. That's what they are going to focus on now, I think.
Oh, they always give Nikumbh amazing dialogues! Also the one in the beginning of the episode where he apologizes to Yamini and asks her to dance. His dialogues rock!

Yes, Yamini has put Nikumb in a tough spot...the accolades will come in and he will not want any part of them cuz they won't be for HIS work...and Raghu will leave no chance to lord it over him that Yamini is the reason for the play's success...so ek toh Nikumb will feel betrayed and on top of that, his pride and self-respect will also feel slighted...oh yeah Azam and Shaheen will play peacemakers as always.

This reminds me...another one of my fav. moments in the epi...when Raghu was trying to taunt Nikumb and Nikumb just replied, "aapki beti ka toh humein pataa nahin lekin humare play ki jo heroine hai, woh kamaal hai"😆😆

He put a lot of faith in Yamini and she chose the worst moment to catch him off-guard...now she will have to work to gain his faith back.

remember Anu,
you once said that the whole play, penned by nikumh would be fantastic to watch. i infact thought that maybe they will show selective scenes of the whole play in say 2 episodes...but nah the only things we get to see is the 1st trip and catch scene in a play within the show😆 and the other we r about to see is yamini's impoverished ending. disappointed a bit.😔

I toh was hoping they would air the entire play. From start to finish! Like I really wanted a maha-episode JUST for the play. But it was not to be. I guess time constraints. :(

LOL you guys were expecting too much...I had a feeling that they would only show a few scenes only...cuz the play was just a metaphor all along...a catalyst by the end...it was a tool to bring them together, to evolve their personalities and then finally bring about a conflict...If they'd sat around showing the whole play, it would have distracted from the core storyline...

So they only showed all the scenes they rehearsed...the scene with the sage, the trip-catch to show LOWE😆 and the ending scene...

Nikumb's writing frankly to me is more interesting to watch vis a vis his COLUMNS...that is where he writes his best...stuff from the heart.

well i was not wishing that much. but I hoped to see atleast some scenes to a form a coherent idea f nikumbh's interpretation of shakuntala !! but alas we got to see virtually nothing. and i dnt think time constraints are that much factor, they perhaps didnt want to get diverted from the original story by showing a play in the show itself. although i know a bengali show show enacted a full tagore dancedrama successfully with the limitations of show-time. kaash yeh log bhi karte !
