only marginally...you can expand on that if you want to - it would be interesting!

Krut itna gussa ??????????/😆😆 BTW who's old bean ??????/😕
I think its the same person who was wawa, nikki_aneja, etc. But what confuses me about this person is that there is a duality to his/her character. SOme of the posts by this person are like totally hilarious and cool and the others are simply aimed at annoying...😊
i think i would have been non veg if i was born in a diff family
so how and where u grow up influences u
so u really cant point fingers at someone just like that
but having said that being entirely different from the rest of society is not easy
the calssic case of ABCDs is there
they neither fit in indians nor among americans
I totally disagree with you and kruti on this one. Kkrutilynn also mentioned in an earlier post that abcd dont have self identity.
I have many friends who are born here and happily living and married to americans or indians or some other countries whom they loved. Dont generalise your experiences and say that its a classic example.
Every human being have their own identity irrespective of where they born.
Excellent topic.
As a mother of a seventeen year old,and someone who has lived outside India for 14 years,I have a lot to say.
Serials depict only a fraction of truth,no matter how real they may seem because they have too many real life coincidences. That's why different people indentify with different characters and incidents.
As for the western influence on Indians living abroad,it's a question of adapting to one's environment."Clothes make the man" does not hold good here.Western outfits like trousers/shirts are convenient to wear and maintain.People of all ages wear these outfits and still continue to have traditional values.
In India wearing such outfits are taken for being fashionable and modern. But then what's wrong in that? As long as they are within the limits of decency,I think it's ok.Even a saree not worn properly can expose more than cover the body!
As for the values imbibed,ABCDs(read abroad born CD) form a small section.Somebody who is completely westernised need not be a confused individual. It's a matter of choice, largely influenced by one's circumstances.
I absolutely agree that what most Indians know is what they see on TV and in movies.Unfortunately,to them America means sex, booze, pubs and no morals. That's so untrue. That probably is the scene in many South-East-Asian countries like Thailand,Phillipines,Hong Kong, etc. It's just that the American society is more open and hence we know all about it.
As far as smoking and drinking are concerned, these are harmful vices, but the person indulging in them is not necessarily a bad human being. But promiscuous sex does show weakness in character. As far as pre martial sex is concerned,it is becoming a concern because, girls who are more vulnerable, are also indulging in it.Equality for them does not stop at academics and careers!
In my opinion, basic values are the same all over the world. No society encourages drugs and alcohol.Sex is the only area that sees different values, varying culture to culture.
To me immoral would be cheating in anyway, any form of deception, being cruel or mean or intentionally hramimg anybody;physically or verbally.
With all these opinions, which make ME,I try hard not to be judgemental about any person who is different.
Just my thoughts......
Cheers

Certainly not all kids born and rasied in the US are confused.. But there are some that are and parents who plan to settle in the US should look at such kids and try to see that their children do not turn out that way! I agree with Lalit1 that we cannot be cut out from society..
