Hey! So, unlike what i had written in my previous post about the next update being after 2 days, i decided to not keep you all waiting.Thus, here's an update for you'll.
CHAPTER 2
It had been two days since the incident. Sameer and Arjun were in the hospital, on temporary bed rest. Having broken a few bones, any movement would make the healing process difficult and prolonged.
Broken bones were still fine, but what about their broken hearts?
Time and again someone one come near them and then be brutally snatched away. More so with Arjun.
How was his heart and soul suppose to mend with being stabbed repeatedly?
Slowly Arjun gained consciousness. looking at his surroundings he took in the fact of what had conspired two days back. soon the events came rushing back to him and sadness washed over him. He had seen a body twitch before he was taken away from that place but he brushed it off as hallucination. His thoughts took him back to that day.
A painful groan forced him to come out of his reverie and back into the present. Sam was awakening and seemingly the effect of his painkiller and sedative had washed away causing him to moan in pain.
Having realized the previous events, a lone tear rolled down his cheek. And then another and another until he was sobbing and whimpering.
Who said it's manly to not show emotions?
"Sam"
Until now he was unaware of he fact that Arjun was awake and had witnessed his breakdown. However he didn't try to wipe off the tears from his face, after all the person on the bed next to his was his best friend, his biggest supporter.
They had been best friends since college. Arjun always wanted to be an officer and serve his country while Sam never realized it was his calling until he met Arjun who helped him comprehend what he wanted to do with his life. One thing led to another, after a few fights between Sam and his parents, his parents blaming Arjun on having brainwashed their son and emotional blackmails later, Sam left his family business and home and Jumped into the world of defence, with his best friend by his side.
However he did not respond to Arjun. Silence seemed more pleasant than words right now. Arjun took the cue and didn't say any further.
They were both mourning the loss of their non-Biological family.
Both were so engrossed in their own worlds that they didn't realize the doctor had stepped in and was administering painkillers through their IV.
"Arjun"
"Mr Arjun"
Someone calling out his name broke his chain of thoughts along with Sam's.
It was the doctor.
"How do you feel now, Mr Arjun?"
The doctor got no reply in return, and he understood what was wrong. He didn't know how the duo was going to take what he was about to say, however that risk had to be taken.
"Apki team, ke bare mein aapse kuch baat karni hai. Tajjub Ki baat hai ki woh zinda hai."
within no time two heads turned towards him.
"Kya!" The two said in unison with utter shock. Well, shock would be an understatement.
"Woh zinda toh hai, Lekin coma Mein hai. They are as good as.."
The doctor realized what he was about to say. The duo tried to control their emotions and restrained their tear from flowing.
"Saaf saaf bataiye aap kya kehna chahte hai." Said Sam getting into his detective mode.
"Dekhiye Mr Sameer, aapko aaram ki zaroorat hai. Aap rest kijiye."
"Mujhe apne baare mein sunne mein koi interest nahi hai. Mujhe apni team ke bare mein jaan na hai." He said with authority. Unable to bear the angry gaze of the two officers, he spoke.
"Aapke team ke sabhi members coma mein hai. Its unexplainable. Maine apne 30 saal ke career mein kabhi nahi dekha ki kisi ne apni maut chakma dekar apni zindagi wapas le li ho. Agar pancho mein se ek aisa case hota to maan lete ki shayad luck ho, lekin aapke paancho officers bach gaye.."
The doctor scratched his head still not believing how the officer were even alive.
"Unhe hosh kab aayega doctor" Arjun chipped in.
"Dekhiye iske bare mein hum kuch nahi keh sakte. Unke pure sharir pe ghav hai, bure shape mein unki health hai.. Main bhagwan mein manta nahi par lagta hai ki yeh unhi ki karamat hai, kyunki science isse abhi explain nahi kar sakta."
Saying so, the doctor left their room.
They however couldn't believe their ears. All this while they were mourning the loss of those who were still alive. Well, not exactly alive, just breathing.
