Manzil (Arjun New SS- Chapter 2 updated)

'Still. That's what they stood like.'

It was a regular day, just chasing around some goons like they usually did. No wonder, the leader of the gang was untraceable, but that didn't stop the ETF from following his minions. The chase led them into a warehouse. Boxes, boxes and even more boxes everywhere, unevenly stacked up. They segregated their team. Sameer, Arjun and Liza took the south entrance, Chotu, Shree and Sakshi took the North entrance.

They searched for the goons whom they had followed here, only to find no trace of them. they stealthily moved towards the boxes, they opened a few of them to find them empty. Arjun and Sameer skimmed through the almost empty rooms, and the empty cartons in those rooms, while the rest of them yet separated to probe around the warehouse.

Mistake.

That's where their mistake lay.

Suddenly, the warehouse that was hustling with the movement of cartons, and ears that were filled with sound of other members chattering about how the whole place was empty except filled with other empty boxes and rooms, suddenly became quiet. It seemed like the calm before the storm.

Arjun and Sameer came out of the room they were searching in. the warehouse had an air of resistance. They quickly scoured around the place to find their teammates.

Finally they found them, tied to their chairs, attached to explosives that were about to blow up in a minute. Sameer ran towards his colleagues.

"Damnit!

"Rathore sir, please yaha se chale jaiye. Just go away!

"Ayesha tum pagal ho?! Tum sabhi ko liye bigair main nahi jane wala!

"Sir, please jaiye. Yeh bomb kabhi ki phat sakta hai

"Chup raho Shree!

Sameer called up the explosives squad. When he turned back he saw a pale Arjun rooted at his spot. He hadn't moved. Tears weld up in his eyes at the thought of losing his family again. He had already lost Roshni first. Later it was Riya who was snatched away from him. This would be the third time.

The team had got quite close. They were more like friends outside office hours. He knew knew about Sameer and Ayesha's feelings for each other. He knew how Sakshi, Liza, Chotu and Shree bickered all the time and thought of him as Khadus' behind his back. However he had grown to like the bond they all shared. They were like a family and had each other's back. Once again he had a feeling he was going to lose them.

Seeing Arjun stand like a statue, broke Sameer's heart.

There was not enough time left. The clock has started ticking, 10 seconds were left.

"Arjun Leave, you idiot! Sakshi voiced.

That brought him out of his reverie.

Arjun and Sameer soon started tracing their steps backwards, taking a last look at their team, their family, their loved ones. They were stared back at by them, they had nothing to hide and let their vulnerable side show. tears rolled freely down their cheeks while their hearts thudded with paramount fear. Many words were left unsaid.

Arjun and Sameer ran just in time.

The impact of the blast went far and wide, they were thrown onto the wall and the premise shook a little as though an earthquake had occurred.

Feeling a bone or two break in their body, the duo lay still.

Soon enough the sound of sirens came nearer.

They lay there seeing splinters and chunks everywhere. their eyes fell on their teammates who lay there covered in spots, gunpowder and and wounds all over their body.

The duo's immobile bodies were places on gurneys to be taken to the hospital while the firemen and the explosives squad stood around the site of crime taking relevant action and checking the marred bodies.

Just as he was able to get a glimpse of one of the unrecognizable bodies, he swore he saw a body twitch.
