Author's note- In my mind I always have this visions how a woman should be. She should be strong and efficient. She should be able to take of her and those around her. A woman is a Durga but she is also a Kali. She is a nurture but she is also a destroyer. In the show they just butchered a very promising character. Sana Khan is a very talented actress and she had every opportunity to prove herself as a strong lead. But CVs didn't allow it. So, for the sake of my story I changed Riya's profession from a cop to a lawyer. How she met Arjun and the rest of the team will be revealed in the story gradually.

Chapter 1-

Riya is sitting in her chamber when someone came and sat on the opposite side. Though Riya knew very well who would be disturbing her and why, she didn't look up from her file. When the opposition failed to capture her attention, he cleared his throat. Riya sighed and looked up. There sitting in all glory was Riya's childhood friend and now chief of CID Yohaan Awasti and he had a nasty scowl on his face.

Riya: Kya chahye Yohaan?

Yohaan sat up and straight and scowled deeper.

Yohaan: Yeh tumhare paas aur koi kaam nehi hai kya? Tumne phir ek mujrim ko chudwa diya! Tumhe pata hai kitni muskil se haam criminals ko pakadte hai? Aur tum unka case leke unhe chudwa dete ho!

Riya: Aab agar tumlogo ke prosecutor ko nehi pata case kaise jite jate hai to yeh bhi meri galti hai!

Yohaan: Tum yeh guilty logo ka case leti hi kiyu ho! Pata hai aajkal log hame mante hi nehi hai! Sab ka yehi kehna hai "CID ne pakad liya to kya hau! Riya Bose hai na! Woh hame chudwa legi" .

Riya raised an eyebrow at him.

Yohaan: Okay that part was exaggeration. But bohot jaldi saab yeh kehne lagenge!

Riya looked closely at him. He managed to look like a lost puppy even in his 6 ft. avatar. But he really looked haggard. Dark circle started showing. The job and responsibility was taking toll on him. Moreover, the consequences had been really bothering him.

Riya: Aab agar government mera fees afford nehi kar sakte hai to main kya karuum? Accha theek hai.

Yohaan looked at her quizzically.

Yohaan: "Accha theek hai" kya?

Riya: Main age se CID ke pakde hue criminals ka case nehi lungi. Aab khush?

A hundred watt smile spread through his face. Then all of a sudden he started closing Riya's files.

Riya: Arre Yohaan tum kar kya rahe ho?

Yohaan gave her a look that said "have you gone loony?" .

Yohaan: Aaj Rudra ka boxing match hai. Don't tell me you forgot.

Riya blinked once.

Riya: Errr.. Okay.

Yohaan slapped his hand on his forehead. Riya just shrugged.

Riya: Muhje pata tha tum mujhe vulne nehi dogi. Aab jaldi chalo late ho jyega.

Rudra jumped up and down inside the ring and scanned the crowd. He spotted Aliya on the shoulder of a man, her caretaker. Aliya gave him a huge toothy grin and waved her hand. Rudra nodded in reply. His new school has a daycare center. So, every day when Rudra goes to school he takes Aliya with him and bring her back home when the school ends. As Rudra use school bus, it helps his mother too. He scanned the crowd and finally saw his mother and Anna entering.

[Note- In Maharashtra Anna is used as an honorific address. It's pronounced with double n. Just like we pronounce Amma using both m's]

Every kid has a role model. Most of them look up to their parents. Most of the boys look up to their father. He lost his role model when he was barely five. He waited for days for his father. He still remember those days. Especially the day when Aliya was born. He still remember the hour long wait. When a shadow loomed over him, at first he thought his dad is finally back. But he found another man. He remember that man saying that he was Mama's friend. His name is Yohaan and he is a cop. He remember hugging that man desperately trying to cope up with the feeling of betrayal. He remembers nurse bringing little Aliya out and handing her over to that man. Her reddish cheeks and pink fluffy lips with coal black eyes and hair. He remembers the doctors saying that his mother has slipped into the come. The man saying not to worry because he will take care of them. He remembers trying his father's phone again and again, pushing away all his anger. When his father cut the call repeatedly, he remembers his childhood dying that day. Because that day he finally realized his father abandoned them. From that day Yohaan aka Anna took a special place in their life. He remembers Anna taking him to boxing classes because he had angers piled up in the hidden depth in mind. He remembers his first punch and the relief it brought. His Anna does all the things their father should've done. When their mother get caught up in work and fails to check on them in lunch, Anna comes to check claiming that he had work nearby. He never misses any of his functions be it a sports or debate or some stupid go as you like functions. In Aliya's mind Father and Anna held the same meaning. He will never let to ghost of the past ruin his sister's life like it ruined his. He will not let her childhood die.

Suddenly he heard the distant sound of ring that declared the starting of fight. All other thoughts vanished from his mind. A strange calmness settled in his mind and he threw his fast punch.

Arjun looked at the sleeping form of Roshni and slipped into the living room laptop in hand. He went to the YouTube and got his desired content. The video was titled as "The Cobra Strike Again". He played the video over and over again. He watched his son hammering punch after punch in a very professional manner. He moves so fast that the boxing critiques named him The Cobra.

He closed his eyes and took a dip in the memory lane. Riya was a successful lawyer. When Com. first appointed her to ETF, he was strongly against it. But gradually he found the benefits. They caught the criminals and Riya made sure to put them behind the bars with no loopholes. She became a part of the team. When Sikandar's case came she was the one who helped Arjun take his revenge and later made a clean case. They were so happy. He got his buddy back. He found love again. Their first children was four and half years old and Riya was five months pregnant when the storm hit. Everybody told him to reveal the truth to Roshni but he couldn't. She just came out of coma and he was afraid that the truth will destroy her. But in order to protect Roshni he destroyed every other things. Yesterday when he saw Rudra after all this years, he realized that he destroyed his children's childhood too.
