Chapter 22

Arjun walked into the room to see everyone head's come up. One year before there would have been an expression of shock, of happiness or of joy on anyone of their faces but now nothing is expressed on their faces. It as if they had perfected the ability to mask their true emotions from others.

Arj: all in place?

Sh: I have got the cameras sir.

Arj: aisha? You will be in the bed.

Ais: yes sir.

Arj: okay everyone take your positions.

Everyone dispersed leaving only arjun in the room. he looked over the plans again and checked his watch.

Aisha readied herself in the hospital gown and laid on the bed staring at the ceiling. Now its only a matter of time to see who would come to try and kill her. she had no fear. If someone had asked her whether she had any fear of death 9 months back she would have said only for her family but now a numbness surrounded her wherever she went. Something she had first tried to break but now it is a part of her. she stared out into the moonlit night from her window as she is shrouded in darkness. She stiffened as she heard the door open and someone enter. A jasmine smell of the perfume made her frown and she turned to say "you should'nt be here."

Ri: actually this is the exact place I should be right now.

Ais: no it is'nt.

Arjun's voice came in through the earphone aisha had in her ear "what the hell is she doing there?"

Ri: you tell him that I am misha's friend and as a friend I will stay at her bedside when she gains consciousness. So I am staying here. where my friend is, I am there.

Aisha heard silence in her earpiece and could easily hear the wheels turning in arjun's head. He said "okay."

Ais: but sir...

Arj: she is right aisha. She should stay there. That will make the cover more realistic.

Aisha looked at riya with annoyance and riya smiles a lovely smile and lies down on the couch. Without looking at aisha she said "you look too stiff. Anyone seeing from the doorway would think that this is fake."

Ais: I think I know how to look. Thank you very much.

Ri: just saying. Relax your body. Take a few deep breaths and pretend you are in your bed. You will be more restful.

Ais: did I ask for your advice?

Ri:sheesh, are all of you this grumpy?

Aisha just gives a glare to riya even though she could'nt see her in the darkness. The next second everyone became alert as the door opened and a man wearing a doctor's overcoat came in. he walked upto to the iv bag and took out an injection and is preparing to put it in the iv bag when the door opens to reveal arjun and chotu standing there with the guns raised. Aisha takes out the gun she hid in the pillow and said "your game is over doctor." The man stares at them for a few seconds and riya shouted "he has cyanide."

Before either of them could react, foam started forming in the doctor's mouth. Chotu went to call the doctor, while arjun and aisha got him on the bed. The doctor immediately came and made all of them go out of the room. after a few seconds, which seemed like hours to the entire team, the doctor came out and said "he is alive. It's a good thing that you warned me to keep a cure for cyanide mr rawte. Otherwise he would definitely been dead within a few seconds." The doctor went away after telling them that the man is unconscious and would have to be interrogated from the bed only.

Ais: how did you know that the man had cyanide in his mouth?
