At Mutt Road:
Liza was observing Saakshi from the time she had been asked to stay with her, she was unusually silent. The ever smiling bubbly, chirpy journalist was replaced by a calm, fearless and composed individual who was unfazed by the situation she found herself in. She had somewhere expected Saakshi to be scared and get emotional. Not that she felt Saakshi was weak but she thought her to be someone who could be easily affected by the surroundings. What she saw here amazed her. Everyone would be hell scared when their life is hanging by a loose thread but there was not an ounce of fear in Saakshi's eyes. She was compelled to think if at all she knew Saakshi or not.
Saakshi on the other hand was in her own world of thought where nothing around her made a difference. She had no problems in dying because for her life, her life had ceased to exist long before, there was only thing for which she had to live was to bring justice to her loved ones by punishing their murderer. Now that she knew he had the same mission of punishing him as her, she was sure Arjun would not rest until he brought down Sikander. This fact gave her an unknown peace and she was ready to relinquish this life and go and unite with them after death. The thought of death rekindled the memories of her haunted past within her.
Once she was like every other girl happy, carefree and enjoying life to fullest. She was pampered by her parents; her brother fulfilled all her wishes even before it dawned to her. She was the apple of their eyes. She was a inseparable part of a closely knit family bonded by love and affection. But all that was destroyed on that fateful day when he had killed all of them, leaving her with no one to call hers. She had to remain strong to bring justice to them and had worked really hard so that she could be reckoned for the post of investigative journalist in ETF. She had left no stone unturned to erase the very existence of her from the records. At last she had succeeded in getting a job in ETF that would be bring her one step closer to achieving her only motive of life.
She vividly remembered her first day at ETF. She had first met Aisha, Shree and Chotu after arriving from the airport, then gone on to meet the chief of ETF. But she couldn't meet the person she was very eager to meet. She had heard a lot about his devotion, sincerity, commitment, passion and his out of box methods that made one of the best if not the best. There was also one thing both shared together in common that was the pain of losing someone very dear to them due to a man who was not only their enemy but an enemy to humanity as well. She had the opportunity to meet him next morning when Sameer officially introduced her to him. She could easily read the pain in his eyes which was masked under the facade of indifference and could see a mirror image of her in him. The only striking difference was that she hid her pain in her so called bubbly, chirpy and lively nature where nobody could even predict her past, but he had turned reclusive.
She had at that moment vowed to herself that she would help him to overcome the unexpected tragedy that had hit him. She did not sympathize with him but could empathize as she herself had gone through it in the past. She had made him shake hands with forcefully, irritated, questioned his case solving abilities, made a mockery of herself on numerous occasions only to make him react the same way a normal person would and break the indifference. She didn't know how much she had succeeded in her mission but in the process failed to realize the fact that he had become an indispensable part of her existence.
Aisha had made her realize that she had fallen irrevocably in love with him. He would never love her back; her love would remain unrequited because she could still see immense love for his dead wife in his eyes. Her heart hoped one day she would see the same feeling for her as well, but her logical mind knew the truth that he doesn't even consider her as his friend with whom he could share his happiness and sorrows, so him falling for her was next to impossible. Like everything else in her life, this dream of hers would remain incomplete as well. He had always hated her and will always continue to do so; this was the harsh reality of her life. But today seeing his care, concern for her she felt contented. Her heart yearned to be with him during her last moments, if at all this was death she would welcome it with open hands with her only last desire being taking her last breath in his arms.
Liza's hand on her shoulder brought her back to reality.
Liza: Would you have something?
Saakshi: No Liza. I am fine. I don't need anything to eat.
Liza: Ok then. I will be back in ten minutes.
Saying this she went near Shree to know the update leaving Saakshi behind all to herself
