Part 2

The door slowly shut and Arjun remained silent for several moments that felt like forever to Riya. Then he slowly moved towards her and came down and sat beside her.

"Are you really'pregnant?" he asked looking her in the eye.

She found that she couldn't speak with his eyes searing into hers so she nodded.

"When were you going to tell me? Why didn't you tell me sooner? How could you be so careless Riya? Why did you go out in the field when you knew you were pregnant?"

"I'" Riya didn't know what question to answer first.

"Answer me Riya."

"I suspected for a week or so but I just found out yesterday when I took the pregnancy test and then I went to the doctor's. I was going to tell you but I didn't know how plus I didn't even know if you would want this baby. Plus, I needed some time to process. And as to your last question'I tried talking to Rathore sir but he didn't listen to me and we left for the mission as soon as I got to the ETF office. I didn't purposely endanger myself," Riya yelled towards the end because he always thought she wasn't good enough but to think that she would risk her child on purpose was more than Riya could take.

"You thought I wouldn't want the baby," Arjun asked surprised. How could she think he wouldn't take care of his responsibilities? He knew this wasn't the ideal situation but still he was responsible for this baby.

"Why wouldn't I think that? You have been avoiding me since that night. You acted as if you made the worst mistake ever, as if you were cheating Roshni."

"I'Riya yes I avoided you but not because it was the worst mistake of my life but because it was the best mistake of my life. I felt really guilty for being so happy even after Roshni's death. I couldn't deal with the guilt Riya, but I was coming to terms with it. I know I took a long time but I was going to tell you yesterday that I was ready to move on but I didn't get the chance since you took the day off."

Arjun placed his hand over her belly and his face changed completely'a peaceful aura overcame him. His shone with pride and his lips of their volition formed a smile. He was happy, Riya realized. He wanted her and the baby. She was so happy.

"Riya promise me you won't go on field anymore. I know you are an independent woman and its one of the any reason I love you."

"Wait what did you say," Riya cut him off. "You love me."

Arjun looked up into her eyes again, cupping her face he said "I love you Riya and I am so sorry for what I did to you. I kept pushing you away for so long because I was scared of how much I wanted to be near you. I kept telling you to go back to the research desk because every day it was getting harder and harder being so close to you and not wondering what it would be like to be with you. I told you that you were incompetent which may have been true in the beginning but then later that wasn't true anymore'but I still told you those things and hurt you so that you would stay away from me so that I wouldn't have to feel guilty about what I felt. So that I wouldn't feel guilty that I wanted to hold you and not Roshni, that I wanted to be near you not Roshni, that I wanted you. Roshni still has a place in my heart, but she is gone now riya. She isn't coming back and I can't keep living my life as if it stopped the minute she was gone that isn't fair to you, to our baby, or to me."

Wow, Riya was left starstruck. Firstly she had never heard Arjun talk this much in her life and secondly she had never heard or expected such amazing things from his mouth. Tears seeped from her eyes.

"Riya lets get married not because of the baby but because I should have done this a long time ago," he said shocking her. When she had first found out she was pregnant she had thought she might have to convince him to even want this baby but now he wanted to get married for herself not just for the baby.

"Yes," because there really wasn't any other answer, because that is all she had ever wanted.

Guys i am sorry I dont send pm's. I have like 200 people on my pm list and I used to send out pms but it took forever and after all that work only some people would comment. So i am sorry. And I know you probably want more of this OS but I really dont have time right now folks. I wouldnt have even written this part but then so many people commented that I was obligated to finish it. I know I shouldnt have started this if I didnt have the time to finish...sorry for that.
