Brilliant analysis!

In fact, the dead body of someone similar to Nitish Agarkar appearing all of a sudden was something which confused me too...they had left it open and not explained it... I mean where did he get it from in the middle of the night and on the highway went unanswered!

And it was also plain silly for the police to assume that the driver who lay unconscious near the body was the killer...

My dear Vidya,

Thanks ever so much for such kind words. Those were really the two major plot holes. The rest , like the passport number and the names of Mrs. Agarkar's passport were errors of detail that could have been easily avoided. But not these two.

How did you happen to chance upon this old post after all this time?

Hey

i already told u dat i was quite impressed with d points u put forth in my thread

Now coming to d points u put forth

The body of sum1 similar to nitish agarkar was a bit fussy ... ...it was confusing as u said n i didnt got it in the show as well ...

Now the passports points ...d same passport No on 2 passports is Not possible practically ...
Similarly in the episode where ETF was suppose to protect d Bank money ..which was going in a Special Van...

I dint understood ...How wen ria was shot ...Arjun Came out all of a sudden from d van (like sum superhero) ...n managed to take her ...

Fyn ria cud not shoot bec of fear ..but atleast she cud have behaved a bit more sensibly like a Police officer

Dere r sum points in the show which r tricky...i din understood ..but yes dere r sumthings which i liked ...
1 of them is
As in , in the Ghost episode ...i liked dat it was a hallucination bec of the medicine...i thot it wud b sum projector or sumthing ...but i liked d medicine idea ..it was new for me

My dear Samiya,

Thanks a lot, my dear, and I am delighted that you found my very detailed analysis, which needs a lot of attention to the finer points to be appreciated, so interesting. It makes me feel more at home in this forum, where I had earlier felt rather out of place. Thank you again for your interest and your appreciation. I value both.

As for the Arjun-Riya romantic angle, as I had written to Sanchayita above, you young people were not wrong in focussing on it, only a bit premature. It would have come, but it needed time, and now of course it is over and done with, sadly to say.

Lastly, I am rather puzzled by how so many of you youngsters are responding to this over a month old post now. What has happened to make you read it now?

However, since you have done it, you might like to see the responses from Masin and Sookie above and, if you still have some time and more patience😉, please also go thru a similar analysis that I had done of the case of the dead stockbroker (No.16, the one after this one). It is at

Take care.

Those were things which left me puzzled when i saw the episode but i just conveniently ignored because I love the serial so much...
the credit of bring up this thread to the first page goes to someone else, i guess...And i happened to see it today...So felt like putting in my 2 cents too...

I agree that such things can be avoided and that extra effort will only make our fav serial the best of the lot...You have taken efforts to watch it keenly and write elaborately including even the minutest details...thanks!

I do have questions in many of the other episodes too...For example, the ghost episode...accepted that the drug has its effect and people see things which are forced into their mind...but how is it possible that all five of the ETF members hallucinating at the same time and at the same place...and the position of the ghost was also the same...and it just disappeared like any ghost would do, all of a sudden...ok i agree that may be the gun shots snapped them out of the hallucination and the ghost disappeared but it should have happened at the first shot and not after so many shots by all 5 people...

Dear Vidya,

I agree with you on all the points you have made about the 'ghost' episode, which was in any case rather a weak one, noteworthy only for highlighting Arjun's (and Rathore's) steadfast refusal to give in to superstition.

The gas could have got dispersed very easily in such a large open space if there had been a strong wind, and then where would the plotters have been? Moreover, no gas acts on everyone in the same way, it is a matter of the individual constitution, and I cannot understand how a mere description of the supposed chudail could make sure that all the ETF members see exactly the SAME ghost.

An even bigger plot hole - why does the elder brother take his young daughter along on this expedition to such a lonely place so late at night? It is ridiculous; a snake could have bitten one of them.

Second, how does the brother get into the underground den without being stopped by some lookout chap whom the gang must have stationed at the entrance?

Lastly, why does he have to be so stupid as to make speeches about going to the police (thus practically ensuring that he is bumped off), when his brother was prepared to let him go? All that he had to do was to promise to keep quiet and then go to the police and have the place raided the next night.

This episode was as bad as CID is these days (CID was a lot better till 2004), and not worthy of being in Arjun at all!

My dear Sanchayita,

I cannot tell you how pleased I was to see such a well thought out response from you to my post, which, as I say often, would not be everyone's cup of tea. I can see that you have a very receptive and open mind, and that you are willing to take on board ideas that might clash with ones you were comfortable with earlier. That is a valuable quality that will stand you in good stead all your life, and not just here.

Despite all the holes - some of which, like the passport numbers and the names on the woman's passport, were minor and could have been easily avoided - it was still a very clever episode, and the double jeopardy angle was a first and very novel.

Also, I would not discount the beginning of an emotional connect between Arjun and Riya here, not at all. He cups her face with a genuine and protective affection when she will not stop crying and cannot take in what he is saying. It is an instinctive reaction, not a deliberated one, which only strengthens this point.

But I think he would have done the same if it had been Shereen, the young girl he rescues from Pathan in the first episode, the one who runs to hug him at the party in the latest one. He would have hugged her comfortingly, and he might even have kissed her on the forehead, which is what one does to a frightened child.

He does not do any of that to Riya for obvious reasons, but in her case, the sentiment is the same - protectiveness and a dawning affection. But it is not yet love. He is simply not ready for it, and I think they had that flashback in the latest episode only to drive home that point.

So you see, it is not that your feelings about this were wrong, only that they were premature. If Riya had survived, I was sure that once Sikandar had been killed and Roshni had been revenged, Arjun would have come round to loving Riya, perhaps not as he loved Roshni, but loving her nonetheless. Please see my responses to masin above; this point is elaborated there.

If you have seen the Saif-Kareena film Agent Vinod, my comment to Faiza above about that film and Arjun would also interest you.

Shyamala Aunty.

Aunty, thank you for the important corrections. And I am glad that you liked what I wrote. I am pondering that if you were not there, how wrong my thoughts would be, till now. I have never ever thought on Arjun cupping Rhea's face fact in that way. You are so true. He had done same with his Shireen whom he looks up as his sister in the latest episode and the very first episode and the little kid in the security company case. Yes, he did that to Rhea only as an responsible senior of hers. I agree to you after reading the above peice. If you havenot corrected me, may be I will have always believe that it was something else, that never exsisted though there was a possibility for that later.
But, still I'm kind of shattered to realise the fact, the true fact that there was nothing between them. No matter how dissapointing that is, I've accepted it.
I don't know how to express my apologies, for what I did mentioning all that rubbish in my previous post and wasting your important time. I am really sorry for that.
And I havenot watched the movie Agent-Vinod, I will try to watch it.
I will be blessed if you will always with me to correct me all the time, when I will believe in something wrong.
Regards,
Sanchayita.
