HI GUYS!!!! here is chapter 2!! (a little short but more in store 😉)

The doctors were trying their best. ECG, blood transfusion…everything that they could possibly do to get their patient back. The Rajawats were all gathered in the waiting room, waiting for some news, hoping it to be good.

Vikram: Bro, bhabisa will be alright. I believe in her. Remember when we went Baliya with her for Pinko’s birthday and the electricity went off, bhabisa climbed an 8ft pole to fix it. And also, also remember when bhabisa fixed the cooker without any help, and also, also remember…

Veer was trying to be so strong for his little brother, he knew that after him, Vikram was the one who loved Rani the most. Rani was Vikram right hand man. They were partner in crimes. Vikram broke down in Veer’s arms, slowly losing hopes and letting his fears take over him. He was always the one with the brain. He never let his heart fall weak, but today he couldn’t. His bhabisa was in there, without anyone. All alone and he felt so helpless. He slowly fell asleep in his older brother’s lap. Knowing that no fears could reach him as long as he is under his brother’s protection.

Veer listening to his brother’s slow sobs and having flashbacks of all the events that Vikram had just outlined. Rani is one of a kind. She knows how to smile, despite being in pain. She makes sures that everyone around her is happy, and no one is in pain because of her.

Veer: (thinking) How could someone just want to hurt her? Who could it have been? Could it be….no Jai Singh is in jail. Can’t be him. Bara Bhaya? But how can he come all the way to Jaipur? He already hurt Rani once…could it be…

With that he looked at Ranisa. He knew that he shouldn’t. He knew that his Ranisa could never do any wrong. But something in him was ticking. Something in him was warning him; almost like a wave of wrongness in his heart. He looked down to Vikram, his little brother, soundlessly sleeping and uttering his bhabisa’s name even in his sleep.

Veer: (thinking) don’t worry Vikram, nothing will happen to your bhabisa. This is your brother’s promise. I’m going to get to the bottom of this. I will find out who did this.

Ranisa’s phone was endlessly ringing. Disturbing Veer’s thoughts and making him look up to Ranisa. Ranisa knew that she could not talk on the phone now. She will get caught. Vikram has been on her case, since Rani has come back from Baliya. She needs to be more careful.

Veer: (thinking) Why isn’t she picking up? Ranisa never allows her phone to ring any more than 3 times. Who could it be? (CONVERSATION) Ranisa…your phone?

Ranisa: Yes, Veer I know.

Slowly, she stood up and walked off to the lawn and picked up the call. In all annoyance, she spoke.

Ranisa: I told you not to call me now. You know that I am in the hospital.

Unknown: I want my money.

Ranisa: You are asking for money? I asked you to finish the job, not do half and leave half.

Unknown: I did as you asked me to do. Not my fault that the girl is so willing to live, I want my money in the next 3 hours, or the media will know that the Queen of Jaipur, in real life, is a murderer.

Ranisa was stunned. She knew that she had to pay. She knew how far he would go. She knew that she could not let her secret come out. She needs Veer to continue to be her right hand man.

All the while, Veer watching Ranisa. Listening to her conversation, he was confused and shocked. He felt betrayed. The woman whom he worshiped his entire life, ended up being the person who stabbed him in the back the most. He knew he could not let out the truth just yet, he needs to go alone with the act, up until Rani gets better. Her life was in danger already.

Veer: Who was she talking to? I need to find this unknown person. I need to know why. But why Ranisa, what did I not do for you? I studied as you asked me to, I looked after the house, I almost married the woman you wanted me to, I was ready to give my life for you…but you decided to play with mine. I should have known that accepting me as your son, was all an act. Accepting Rani as the BahuRani was all an act, I should have known. You want to play with fire? I’ll show how to play. You’re dealing with Rani Veer Pratap Singh Rajawat’s husband. Not your adopted son.

With that Veer walked back to the waiting area, more determined than ever this time. He knew he needed help, and his best help was going to be his little Lakshman. His trusted brother, whom he loved more than anyone. His brother was truly the only person who wanted any good for him and Rani from the beginning. Veer was in thoughts when he saw the doctors coming out of the OT. The light was green. He had hope. Finally. He put Vikram down carefully and went ahead.

Veer: Doc, how she is? Be frank. Please.

Doc: Veer, she is alright. We managed to fill up the blood loss. Her internal injuries should heal within a couple of weeks, but she will be on crutches for a couple of months. We just need to wait till her wakes up. We gave her a heavy dose of anaesthetic. Your wife is a fighter. You should be proud.

Vikram: Bhabisa is okay?!?? OMGGGG YESSS I KNEW IT!! MY BHABISA IS STRONG AF!!! I KNEW IT. I KNEW IT!!! BRO BRO BRO!!! BHABISA IS OKAY!!!

Vikram could not hold the tears back, he ran and gave his brother a big hug. He needed it. His brother needed it. They both broke down. They both let out a sigh of relief.

Veer: I know, she is okay. I know. She is good. Rani is okay. Your bhabisa is okay. She is going to be her normal chatar patar self soon.

They both bursted out laughing. After a whole 12h of misery.

Doc: She is being moved to room 534 in the VIP section. You can go see her, but please be noise cautious.

Veer: Thank you Doc.

With that they made their way to see Rani. Vikram ran, with happiness. But Veer knew that this happiness will not last long, once the truth comes out, the threat on Rani’s life will be much greater than now. He has to be extra careful from now on, he can’t let Rani out of his sight for even a minute from now on. He looked at Ranisa, walking slowly, still very much behind him.

Veer: (thinking) the threat is in the house itself.
