I think Anuj should start discussing that accident incident at least or perhaps should have done that by now. Most of her flashbacks are about the accident. That's a trigger point and needs to be dealt with. That chapter needs to close not for Anupamaa or anyone else but for her mental peace. Adhya needs to realize that she was saved that day. She can still have problems with Anupama for not prioritizing her or making out time, which is a bone of contention as a viewer as well, but this mujhe marne ke liye chod diya, will cause harm to her psyche in the long run. She needs to come to terms with the fact that a major mishap was averted that day & why her insistence to come on the front seat could have been lethal. Since Anupamaa chose to leave, now it is on Anuj to talk that out or take steps in that direction.

It should have been done the very next day. Explaining to the child how she was in the wrong about the accident and what actually happened. Instead of trying to resolve her insecurities (the base of which was legitimate as AnupaMaid only prioritized and cared for shameless shahs), one parent just walked away out of her ego and high handedness while the other was an utter fool and remained so. And now these misconceptions have only festered while growing up. Wish these idiots had never adopted her. I mean both of them actively exposed a growing child to filthy people like tamashahs all the time. A sane parent concerned about their child would not let them near people who mistreat the child, forced phemli or otherwise....

Especially astonishing since CA clearly exhibited signs of trauma to the extent of having seizures and panic attacks at that small age and magically apparating to Mumbai because she wanted to escape from this house.

If I were her parent, my first priority would be taking care of her mental and physical health. All other extended family drama would be secondary to healing this little vulnerable child I had taken responsibility for.

The way the parents (especially Anupamaa) just moved on to the next issue without resolving any of CA's traumas was terrible. Absolutely pathetic parenting from a couple who were not at all ready to adopt a child.

And when CA (a child, after all) acted out and accused her mother of abandoning her in the car, instead of dealing with that like a mature parent Anupamaa just chose to abandon her further? That would be such a painful betrayal for the child. Goes to show that Anupamaa and Anuj have poor communication and no clue how to deal with complex issues with nuance and sensitivity.

Most of all, CA was a CHILD. And Anupamaa was a fully grown supposedly mature adult and it was not her first time being a parent. Utterly inexcusable behaviour.

Absolutely. Her anmol ratans Makkhi and Doshu never stopped throwing fits, misbehaving and insulting her even after supposedly maturing and becoming adults. Yet, she constantly overlooked their hurtful words as well as their actions which were in bad faith. Because Maa Hoon Ne. Lol.

But here, she just walked out shamelessly and abandoned the child instead of resolving the issues. Anuj should also have kept aside the discussion and focused on calming the child and explaining. And now this has been seemingly ignored since years only for it to actually be a dormant volcano of emotions plaguing the child, that may erupt anytime. Utterly irresponsible parenting

Till date they haven’t shown anything that reflects ‘bad’ in Aadya’s behavior, she was insecure as a child 5 yrs back because her mother never ever had time for her, never prioritised her.

Now she is in a state of trauma and hates her Mom because instead of talking to her and sorting out her insecurities the woman abandoned them and left them, and let’s not forget she has spent initial years of her life in an Orphanage with no one to look after her but herself.

After leap, haven’t seen her demanding anything unreasonable and Anuj fulfilling her demands, he spoke to her about her social media addiction which is so common in every child even adults these days, let’s say Pakhi for example.

He spends time with her and plays games or takes her out. What else can he do as a male parent?

Honestly, I can tell you from personal experience, it’s not easy to share things with your father like you do with your mother and you have to think of his feelings as well, not remind him of things that will give him pain. I don’t share every detail with my father like I do with my aunt on a daily basis. In Aadhya’s case, her own mother died saving Anupamaa, she got Shruti and now sees a mother figure in her, what’s wrong in that? It doesn’t mean Anuj dumped his responsibilities on Shruti and is careless about her upbringing, Aadya and her well being is on his mind all the time.

He is always available for his daughter unlike Anupamaa who was actually available 24*7 for her biological kids still they turned out to be like this. Why he didn’t go for the race is an assumption, the school might not have invited parents, or maybe Aadya didn’t want him to come of anything? There was a reason school was live streaming the event right.

As a male parent he can take her to therapy lmao. She should be able to open up about her feelings and thoughts honestly if she feels safe and comfortable enough to do so. Has he created that space for her? It's difficult to tell but they're not addressing her trauma clearly. It's been brushed under the rug. It seems he himself is in a traumatic state so he needs therapy also - that's also responsible parenting. In a way, Anuj also ran away (to America) instead of dealing with that whole event or the aftermath or whatever. Unless there is more which we have to see and the makers haven't shown yet.
