Hey all... so, I kind of ship VaNuj hard.🙈😍 I ended up writing this quick OS, or a scene how I would see Vanraj comforting Anuj after today's episode, Anuj knowing that Malti Devi is his mother.

Comfort||Vanraj/Anuj OS
Vanraj knew he had to go after Anuj when he walked out of his own party post revelation about his relationship with Malti Devi. Anupama, once again gave priority to her Guruma not realising Anuj is leaving in his car but Vanraj notices, he always does so naturally he follows.
The way Anuj was speeding and driving recklessly Vanraj was praying internally for his protection. It takes bit of time after almost losing him to traffic signal but Vanraj finds him soon, just outskirts of city. As soon he sees the car, Vanraj stops and goes to Anuj's car only to find Anuj sitting in floor in front of his door and banging his head lightly and repeatedly against the car door.
'Guruma hi aapki asli maa hain. Aap hi unke bete hain.' Anupama's words still ringing in Anuj's mind which he was hard time believing or forgetting. It does now explain his displeasure of seeing Guruma around his home.
"Anuj." Vanraj lightly calls him out but no response. Slowly, he kneels down in front of Anuj so other man can see him. But Anuj's eyes are closed and he seems so distant that he cannot sense that Vanraj is right in front of him. Anuj keeps banging his head and just seeing this causes Vanraj to feel headache coming on. Without thinking Vanraj moves his hand and goes around Anuj's head against the car door so when Anuj bangs his head again it falls into Vanraj's hand instead of the door. Finally, Anuj opens his eyes and finds Vanraj in front of him which doesn't shock him for some reason.
"Anuj."
"Agar tum mujhe lene aye ho toh laut jao, main nahi jaa raha us ghar mein, jahan woh... woh... aurat hai." The words are laced with venom and Vanraj doesn't blame Anuj. No, he blames Anupama yet again for not caring for this man. Once again, she couldn't help herself from creating a drama and that too on Anuj's birthday.
"I know ke... tumhare liye kitna mushkil hai sach ka samna..."
"Sach? Sach yeh nahi hai ke woh aurat meri... maa.. hai. Sach yeh hai ke main aik unwanted child tha jise unhone pucha choda diya. Sach yeh hai ke Kapadia meri family hai. Sach yeh hai ke mere parents ki death hogayi thi accident mein. Sach yeh hai ke Mukku meri behan hai. Yeh sab Sach hai. Malti Devi aur kuch nahi sirf jhoot hai!"
Tears gather in Anuj's eyes as he remembers them, trying to bring their memories in forefront to wipe off the memory of Malti Devi. Vanraj's heart aches for him, suddenly Anuj Kapadia, the powerful businessman has shrunk into a lost child trying to make sense of world around him.
"Tum jo keh rahe ho woh sab theek hai. Woh sab tumhari family hain aur raheinge..." Vanraj stops himself from continuing seeing anger rising in his eyes again.
"Vanraj, you should leave. I need to be alone."
"I understand, Anuj. It's alot to process..."
"You understand?!" It seems to be wrong thing to say as Anuj suddenly pushes Vanraj away from him who almost falls back but manages to hold himself. Anuj stands up quickly but falters but Vanraj holds him, once again Anuj pushes him. It seems like Anuj finally found a way to let out his feelings, by pushing and directing it towards Vanraj.
"You understand? Really?! Tum kya samjhoge ke anaat hona kya hota hai? Tum toh apne maa baap, parivaar ke saath rahe ho. Jis parivaar mein janam liya wahin sari umar guzri. Tumhe toh kisi ne nahi thokraya." With each word Anuj also physically tries to hurt Vanraj as if words weren't enough. He pushes him, hits him on his chest and for once Vanraj just stands there and let it happen. He can't even feel the physical hurt because Anuj's words are causing him more pain, causing tears to form in his eyes too.
"Bare hote howe har pal, har lamha apne aap ko blame karna ke shayad main hi bura tha, mujhme hi kami thi jo mere maa baap ne mujhe chodh diya." Anuj's voice breaks at this and Vanraj blocks Anuj's hit and envelopes his arms around Anuj to hold him as the man falls apart. Anuj tries to fight his way out of Vanraj's arms but the other man tightens his hold which finally causes Anuj to give in and he just falls apart and Vanraj holds the space for his emotions, barely keeping his tears and emotions from flowing.
"Aisa nahi hai, Anuj. Tum... tum bohut hi ache insaan ho, bohut hi... pyaare." He whispers the last word.
"Mera kya kasoor tha?" Anuj chokes out and Vanraj can't stop his tears.
"Anuj, tumhara koi kasoor nahi tha. Tumhari saath ziyadti hoyi hai."
"Kya kiya Anupama ne mere saath aisa? Mujhe Sach kyun bataya?! Main khush tha apni zindagi mein. Jaise bhi sab tha, theek tha. Par Anupama ne... acha nahi kiya. Aik bar phir sabke samne mera tamasha ban gaya."
Vanraj feels intense anger towards Anupama in this moment. She shouldn't have disclosed such sensitive truth like this. Then again, when does Anupama think? He watched from sidelines how Anuj gave up everything for Anupama, he gave in to every wish and whim of hers and yet this is how she chose to hurt him. Vanraj is no Saint, he has his fair share of moments when he really wanted and tried to hurt Anuj but he gave up once he saw the real man behind the business man and Anupama's lover. Vanraj can't admit but Anuj has managed to crawl into Vanraj's heart and he worked his way into trying to become his friend at least.
Right now his heart is aching so much for Anuj and Vanraj is unable to understand why. He decides to keep his focus on Anuj as he needs his support right now.
Anuj slightly pushes back from Vanraj's arms and yet again tells him to leave as he will not set foot in that house. Vanraj isn't ready to leave him like this.
"Jao na."
"Kaha na, nahi jaonga. Tumhe baat nahi karni theek hai, tumhe ghar na jana theek hai. Lekin main tumhe es tarhan akela nahi chodh ke jaonga."
"Tumhe Anupama ne bheja hai na?" His suspicion causes Vanraj to wince as he doesn't want to tell him how Anupama was busy consoling Malti Devi and didn't see Anuj walk out so he just shakes his head. Anuj realises that Vanraj is out here with him put of his concern and will not because Anupama asked him to come. Somehow this doesn't surprise hin but it definitely hurts, in moments like this his traitorous mind questions Anupama's love for him. He quickly stops these train of thoughts as he feels headache getting worse.
Anuj pulls away from Vanraj who let's him but still stays close to him and Anuj is silently thankful for this even though he can't admit it.
"Main ghar nahi jaonga."
"Theek hai." Vanraj doesn't know where Anuj wants to go or what to do but he let the other man dictate and he will follow. Anuj just needs this tonight. So they sit there, side by side in silence for the remaining night. Somewhere between watching the long, lonely road ahead Anuj's eyes close and his head falls on Vanraj's shoulder who doesn't move an inch afraid it might wake the other person. He sends a quick message to Kavya letting her know he is with Anuj and he isn't ready to come home yet but tells her to let family know so they don't worry.
