Part 3

Seeing the bright smiles on both their faces when they ran down the stairs everyone realised that Anu had accepted the proposal wholeheartedly. She went directly to Meera and tried to touch her feet but was pulled into a loving hug before she could do so. Meera told her with a gentle smile "Tum aajse humari beti ho Anu aur jaise Anuj aur Mukku humein mummy papa bulate hain, tum bhi humein wohi bulaogi. Main aaj kitni khush houn ke tum finally officially ab hamari ho, one of the most important part of our family."

Anurag smiled and said "arey mujhe bhi to apni beti se milne to do". Anu tried to take his blessings as well but he also hugged her instead like Meera did and said "hamare ghar mein betiyaan per nahi chooti, issi liye aaj se tumhein na hamare per choone ki zaroorat hai na kissi aur ki, chahe jo bhi ho, aajse mat karna okay? Main sirf tumhara papa hi nahi balke dost bhi houn to tum mujhse apni saari problems share kar sakti ho. Mere hote hue tumhein kissi bhi cheese se darne ki zaroorat nahi hai bacha."

Anu who had really missed this fatherly love, warmth, support and protection since her baba passed away broke down into tears and started sobbing like a baby in Anurag's arms. He panicked and asked "kya hua bacha? Koi problem hai to mujhe batao.." Anuj's whole family surrounded Anu trying to comfort her but seeing her not calming down and unable to speak Anuj told them all how the other family had scared her and what inhuman demands and restrictions they wanted Anu to follow. They were all disgusted with how some people treated their daughters in law not realising that their own daughters could end up being treated the same way. Anurag managed to calm Anu down and wiped her tears while saying "bas mera bacha, ab hum sab hain na tumhare saath? Ab tumhein kuch kehna to door, koi tumhari taraf aankh utha ke bi nahi dekh paega. You are a precious part of our family Anu and no one is allowed to harm you. Yeh baat hamesha yaad rakhna."

Anu nodded and said "thank you papa.. aaj kitne dinon baad mein apne baba ki kami mehsoos nahi kar rahi houn, sirf aapki wajah se. Thank you, mere liye yahan aane ke liye nahi toh main pata nahi kahan phas jati.."

They all smiled at her cuteness and Meera kissed her forehead saying "thank you toh humein kehna chahiye jo tumne hamare iss pagal chokre ko haan kaha."

Everyone laughed while Anuj pouted like a baby and complained "kya mummy ab aap ne bhi party badal di?"

Meera laughed and said "arrey bilkul nahi! Main to hamesha se apni Anu ke hi side par thi. Pata nahi yeh bechari kaise jhelegi tumhare iss pagalpan ko."

Anu spoke without thinking once again "arey nahi mummy Anuj to bohot hi ache.." she bit her tongue and turned red when she realised what she was saying.

Mukku who was really enjoying all this hugged Anu and said "acha ji, to hamari pyari si bhabhi ko bhai bohot ache lagte hain?"

Anuj's face lit up with a smile while Anu turned even more red if that was even possible. Seeing this Meera said "acha ab bas bhi karo. Anu ko aur mat satao tum dono." She turned to Asha and said "agar aapko koi problem na ho to kya hum aaj hi in dono ki sagai kar lete hain? Hum sab tayari ke saath aye hain."

Asha folded her hands and said "ji jaise aap logon ki marzi, lekin agar uss se pehle hum baki batein karlen.. humse jitna hosake hum aapki maangein puri karne ki koshish karenge.."

The Kapadia's were shocked hearing this and Meera said "yeh aap kya kehrahi hain? Humein toh sirf Anu chahiye aur kuch bhi nahi. Leki agar aap kuch dena chahti hain to usse please shaadi tak college jaane ki ijaazat de dijiye. Humein aur kuch bhi nahi chahiye."

Asha was very humbled with their kindness and agreed to let Anu resume college wholeheartedly when Anuj assured her that he will pick Anu up and drop her home everyday. Anu couldn't believe how she got so lucky to get such good in laws, all this felt like a dream to her.

Meera showed Anu a gorgeous diamond ring and said "yeh Anuj ne tumhare liye apni khud ki kamai se kharidi hai aur ussi ne pasand bhi ki hai."

Mukku said "aapko pata hai bhabhi, hum pure Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Delhi aur pata nahi kahan kahan ghoome the aapki ring ke liye lekin bhai ko kuch bhi pasand hi nahi aya tha. Issi liye unhone khud hi yeh wali ring design ki hai aapke liye."

Anu became very emotional, she looked at Anuj and thought 'koi itna acha kaise hosakta aur mujh jaisi simple si larki se itna pyaar kaise karsakta hai?'

Anuj who was also lost in his Anu's eyes thought 'tum nahi jaanti Anu ke tum mere liye kitni special ho aur main kitna pagal houn tumhare liye. Yeh sab to kuch bhi nahi hai.. ab jab tum officially meri ho to dekhna main tumhare liye kya kya karta houn.'

Anu and Anuj both exchanged rings while they were lost in each other's eyes and came back to reality blushing when everyone started clapping.

Meera also gave Anu a necklace "yeh dekho Anu, yeh wala Anuj ne apni pehli salary se banwayi thi aur yeh bhi khud hi design kiya tha. Lo beta Anu ko yeh tum khud pehnao."

Anuj happily took the necklace from the box and put it around Anu's neck while she couldn't stop smiling and blushing.

Mukku cheered for her bhai and bhabhi and hugged them both saying "yeh bhai ab bhabhi hamari hui, I'm so so soooooo happy aur jab main itni happy hoti houn to sirf gajar ka halwa khati houn. Toh mujhe ab woh chahiye."

Meera tried to calm her over excited baby by saying "haan bilkul mera bacha, I'll make it for you when we get home."

Mukku who never listened to anyone when she wanted something said "nahi mummy mujhe abhi chahiye".

Seeing her pout Anu kissed her forehead and said "main abhi bana deti houn apni princess ke liye."

Anurag tried to protest "lekin beta rehne do na, abhi abhi to tumhari sagai hui hai aur tum kitchen mein kaam karogi to acha nahi lagega.."

Anu smiled sweetly and said "karne dijiye na papa, yeh main apni marzi se kar rahi houn na? Majhboori mein to nahi? Mujhe bohot khushi hogi agar main aap sab ke liye kuch banaoun toh.. please mummy papa ko boliye na.."

Anurag shook his head affectionately and said "acha baba tumhein jo acha lage tum karo.. khush?"

"Bohot zyada!" Anu exclaimed with a huge smile. She held Malvika's hand and said "chalo Mukku!"

Seeing Anuj also following them Anu open her mouth to question him but before she could say anything he said "maine kaha to tha ke main tumhe koi bhi kaam akele nahi karne dounga. Tum itni jaldi bhool gayi kya?"

Before Anu could protest Meera said "ab iski aadat dal lo bacha. Yeh dono baap beta aise hi hain. Hum inse jeet nahi sakte."

Anu just gave up and took both Mukku and Anuj to the kitchen with her. She was actually very surprised to see that Anuj knew how to cook and she didn't even have to guide him with anything. Anuj was just very happy that Anu was finally his and he could spend such precious moments with her. They both worked as a team and served everyone delicious gajar ka halwa. Anuj made sure that Anu had her own bowl and had taken her first bite before he started eating. They all had a wonderful time before the Kapadia's left with the promise that Anuj will pick Anu up for college the next day.
