Hello everyone, I'm Fiza and I just love watching Anuj and Anupama. This idea has been going round in my mind for some time and I just had to pen it down. I hope you will enjoy my work.

Part 1

Anuj Kapadia, one of the best and richest businessmen in the world was in a flight back to India. He was impatiently waiting for his flight to land and be able to breathe the same air as her again, his one and only love, Anupama. He didn't know how he managed to stay without her for so long. Each day without her was pure torture, he loved her so much that he found it hard to even breathe when she wasn't around. He still remembers when he first saw her 26 years ago and fell in love with her at first sight. It wasn't just her looks he fell for but her inner beauty which shown through her eyes and added to her outer beauty. There was this peaceful aura around her which attracted him to her like a magnet. 'Like the one I stole from her' he thought and smiled, the smile which never left his face while he thought about her. Anupama always came to college with Devika, her only friend. She always kept her head down and didn't speak to anyone except for Devika. Anuj always wondered how these two girls who were opposites in everything managed to befriend each other. While Anupama was quiet, shy and nervous around everyone, Devika was an extrovert. She befriended everyone in their year group very quickly and became very good friends with Anuj as well. She was the one who advised him not to propose to Anupama directly since she would reject him. The best way to get her to even consider him was to send a marriage proposal to her family through his parents.

Anuj agreed to love his Anu from afar while waiting for both of them to finish their studies. It was during their last year that tragedy struck and Anu lost her father. Anuj thought that Anu had taken some time off and will be back soon but one day Devika told him that a marriage proposal had come for his Anu and that her mom hadn't accepted it yet but it looked like she would. Anuj started panicking and said "yeh tum kya keh rahi ho Devika? Meri Anu ki shaadi? Ab main kya karoonga? Kaise rahoonga uske bina?" Anuj's mom who was also at home rushed to them hearing son's panicked voice. "What happened beta? Tum Aisa ghabra kyon rahe ho?"

Anuj looked at his mom and said "mummy voh meri Anu ki shaadi..." he was so upset that he couldn't even say anything more.

Seeing Anuj so upset Devika took matters into her own hands and said "Aunty woh Anu ke liye ek rishta aya hai. Her mom hasn't said yes yet but it looks like she will. She isn't open minded like uncle was and now that he has passed away she is thinking about this society more that her daughter's future and happiness. She thinks that the sooner she marries Anu off the better it will be for her. It's like Anu has become a burden for her.." Even Devika broke into tears and couldn't speak anymore.

Meera, Anuj's mom took a deep breath and told both of them to calm down. She said "Pehle tum dono shant hojao.. hum aaj hi Anu ka rishta lekar chalte hain and we will convince her mom that she won't get a better life partner than Anuj for her daughter. Main abhi tumhare papa ko phone karke ghar bulati houn, theek hai?"

Anuj hugged his mom tight and said "thank you, thank you, thank you soooooo much mummy! Aap iss duniya ki sabse best mummy ho". The smile he had on his face brightened up the whole room.

Anuj's 8 year old baby sister Malvika who witnessed everything said "haan mummy aap sirf issi liye best ho because you said yes for Anu bhabhi. Haina bhai?"

Anuj became red hearing her and seeing the huge cheeky grin she had on her face. He complained to his mom like a little boy "Dekho na mummy, yeh Mukku ki bachi mujhe chira rahi hai.."

Meera stopped them before they became out of control teasing each other like they usually do. She said "okay enough now both of you. Tum dono jaldi se tayyar hojao and we will pick your dad up instead of waiting for him to come home. Devika beta you go and stay with Anu, she needs your support right now. If you can, please try to get her mom to delay giving the other family an answer. We will be there in around 2 hours."

Devika left from there with a big smile on her face knowing that now that Meera aunty is involved her Anu is in safe hands. She rushed to Anu's house to try and delay Asha aunty's decision.

As soon as Devika left Mukku hugged her brother tight and said "don't worry bhai, Anu bhabhi's mom will definitely accept our proposal. We will all fight for your love. I'm so so soooooo excited, aaj main finally Anu bhabi se miloungi. I'm going to get ready!" She tightened her hug one last time and ran to her room leaving a laughing Anuj and Meera behind her who also walked off in different directions to get ready.

When Anuj came out of his room after sometime he was surprised to see platters upon platters full of jewellery, clothes, shoes, makeup, perfumes, sweets and fruits. He was absolutely speechless seeing how much his mom already loved his Anu. He looked at his mom with happiness shining through his eyes and said "mummy.. yeh.. sab.. kab..?"

Mukku laughed and said "arey wah mummy! Aapne to shayar Kapadia ki bolti hi band kardi aaj.."

Meera smiled and said "atleast don't tease him today bacha.. aur beta I started preparing all this the day you first told me about Anu. Maine toh tab hi faisla kar liya tha ke chahe kuch bhi hojaye, meri bahu to tumhari Anu hi banegi. Acha ab chalo, let's pick up your dad first. I have already told him we are going to Anu's house." Meera got their maids to put everything in the car and they all left hoping for a positive answer for their proposal.

Part 2

As promised by Meera the Kapadia's reached Anu's house within two hours and rang the bell. Asha, Anu's mom opened the door and was surprised to see what looked like a really well off family in front of her. She welcomed them inside and offered them seats. Meera greeted her back and said "maaf kijiyega hum log bina bataye aise achanak chale aaye lekin aaj humara yahan ana bohot zaroori tha. Main Meera Kapadia houn, yeh mere pati Anurag, humari beti Malvika aur yeh hai humara beta Anuj. Hum iske liye aapki beti Anupama ka haath mangne aye hain. Anuj Anu ke saath ek hi college main padhta hai aur usse bohot pasand karta hai. Aaj hi humein pata chala ke Anu ke liye koi aur bhi rishta aya hai issi liye hum itni jaldi mein agaye. Umeed hai ke aap bura nahi maanengi air Anuj ko ek mauka zoroor dengi."

Asha said "aap logon ne meri Anupama ko iss kabil samjha uske liye aapka bohot bohot dhanyavaad lekin main iss rishte ke liye haan nahi kar sakti. Woh baat yeh hai ke mujhe meri beti ki shaadi jald se jald karni hai, apni zimmedari puri karni hai aur woh log bhi jald hi shaadi karwana chahte hain issi liye unke kehne pe maine Anupama ka college jaana bhi band karva diya. Aap ke bete ka to college bhi pura nahi hua ab tak, to aap to yehi chahenge ke yeh shaadi bad mein ho aur Anupama ek aur saal ke liye college jaye. Main inti der aur usse itni aazadi nahi de sakti. Jab uske baba zinda the to alag baat thi lekin main ab akeli houn aur bas ab uska ghar basa hua dekhna chahti houn."

Anuj kneeled down near Asha's legs and held her hands saying "Aunty, main jaanta houn ke aap Anu ke bhale me liye hi yeh sab kar rahi hain lekin hum bhi yahan uska bhala soch kar hi aye hain. Main manta houn ke abhi mera college complete nahi hua hai lekin main college ke saath saath papa ka business bhi sambhalta houn. Hamara apna business hai, Kapadia group of companies jahan main bhi kaam karta houn. Main Anu ki zimmedari utha sakta houn aunty, usse bohot zyada pyaar karta houn. Sirf main hi nahi meri puri family usse already bohot pyar karte hain, usse bina mile hi, Anu hai hi itni achi. Aapne yeh bhi bilkul sahi kaha ke hum chahte hain ke woh apni parhai puri kare. Anu hamare group ki topper hai aunty aur woh zindagi main bohot kuch kar sakti hai, woh bohot kabil hai. Hamare ghar mein usse uske haq ki zameen bhi milegi aur uraan bharne ki azaadi bhi. Hum sab usse rani ki tarha rakhenge aur bohot khush bhi. Aap please maan jayiye aunty."

They all had tears in their eyes hearing what Anuj said, especially Anu who had brought tea and snacks for the guests. Asha made Anuj sit next to her and said "lekin beta, baat to ab bhi wahi hai na ke main Anupama ki shaadi jald se jald karwana chahti houn aur aap abhi shaadi nahi kar sakte.."

Anuj felt really helpless hearing this since he thought that even his parents wouldn't agree now but his mum surprised him yet again when she said "woh zaroor shaadi kar sakta hai behenji, aap jab bhi chahein hum in donon ki shaadi karwane ke liye tayyar hain. Aap bas ek baar haan kehkar to dekhiye."

Asha folded her hands in front of them and said "aap log bohot hi ache hain, aur kitni achi parvarish di hai apne bachon ko. Aaj kal kaun larki walon ko itni izzat aur itna sammaan deta hai? Larki aur uske ghar walon ko to kuch larke wale apne joote ke niche rakhte hain. Meri Anupama bohot hi khush kismat hai ke usse aap jaise ache log mile. Mujhe aapka rishta manzoor hai.." she couldn't speak anymore and broke into tears. Malvika went upto Asha and wiped her tears saying "aap please mat royiye aunty.. ab to khush hone ka time hai na?" Asha nodded with a big smile and kissed Mukku's forehead.

Anuj who wanted to make sure that his Anu was happy with this decision said "agar aapko koi problem na ho to kya main Anu se uska opinion puch sakta houn? Main uspar hamara koi bhi faisla thompna nahi chahta.."

Asha nodded and said "Anupama tum dono upar chat par jao aur apna nashta bhi le jao."

Anuj quickly took the tea tray from Anu's hands and just let her hold the biscuits plate which was lighter. She tried to protest saying "main karloungi aap please rehne dijiye.." Anuj replied "main tumhein koi bhi kaam akeli karne nahi dounga. Meri mummy nai mujhe sab kuch sikhaya hai aur agar unhone tumhein kabhi bhi akeli kaam karte dekha na to mujhe bohot daant paregi."

They reached the rooftop while talking and before Anu could pour the tea in the tea cups Anuj started doing it himself and she said "aap kyon kar rahe hain yeh? Main karloungi.." Before she could say anything else Anuj smiled at her and responded "I wasn't joking earlier Anu, tum please bas sugar daldo." Anu just shook her head and gave up trying to protest, she had understood by now that Anuj was very serious about always helping her. She mumbled "aap meri aadat bigar denge shayar Kapadia" which Anuj heard making him smile even more. When the tea was ready they both sat next to each other on the swing. Anuj took a sip of his tea and said "actually hum hamare ghar ki auraton ko kabhi bhi akele kaam nahi karne dete. Waise ghar mein bohot si maids hai aur GK kaka bhi, wohi un sabko manage karte hain. He is family, woh apne village gaye hain warna aaj woh bhi aate humare saath. Lekin khana mummy khud banati hai, she just loves cooking aur jab bhi papa ghar par hote hain he always helps her. Jab papa nahi hote to main hi help karta houn. Issi liye tum bhi meri help ki aadat dal lo Anu. I know tum kafi surprised ho ke hum achanak rishta lekar agaye, lekin main do salon se tumse pyaar karta houn Anu, kitna pyaar karta houn ye to main bhi nahi jaanta. Agar tumhein woh dusra larka aur rishta zyada pasand hai to tum mujhe keh sakti ho. Main chala jaonga aur tumhein phir kabhi pareshan nahi karounga. Tum mujhe apna dost maan kar apne dil ki baat share kar sakti ho.."

Anu who was feeling overwhelmed with how good and understanding Anuj was being to her took a shaky breath and said "thank you so much, mere liye yahan aane ke liye, mere liye larne ke liye jab meri apni maa mujhe samajh nahi payi. Jab woh dusra rishta aya tha aur main un logon se aur us admi se mili to bohot zyada dar gayi thi. Woh mujhse dus saal bare they aur unki baaton se aisa laga ke unhein apne liye ek life partner nahi balki apni family ke liye ek maid chahiye. Un logon ne mujhe saaf saaf keh diya ke mujhe college chorna hoga, unke saare kaam mujhe akele karna hoga, mujhe koi faisla lene ka haq nahi hoga, unke ijazat ke bagair mein na to kissi se mil sakti houn aur na hi kissi se baat kar sakti houn.. aur pata nahi kya kya keh rahe the.. mujhe jaise kaid karke ghulam banana chahte the.. unki baat sunke maa bhi ghabra gayi aur unse sochne ke liye time manga. Agar aap nahi aate to main pata nahi kya karti. Main bohot bohot bohot dar gayi thi and I kept praying for a miracle. Aap mere miracle ban kar aye ho Anuj to kya aapko lagta hai ke main aapko mana karoungi? Aap aur aapki puri family itni achi hai ke aapko koi mana kar hi nahi sakta.."

Anu had tears running down her cheeks by the time she was done and Anuj was so angry that he wanted to beat that man with his hockey stick for scaring his Anu to this extent. He wiped Anu's tears gently and took deep breaths to try to calm down. Seeing Anuj struggling to calm down Anu held his hand and said "aap please shant hojaiye Anuj aur mujhse vaada kijiye ke aap un logon ko kuch nahi kareinge. Mujhe pata hai jab us larke ne mujhe pareshan kiya tha to aapne usse kitna maara tha, woh hafton tak hospital mein tha."

Anuj looked at Anu shocked and said "Tumhein pata tha Anu, maine mana kiya tha sabko, phirbhi tumhein kisne bataya?"

Anu responded without thinking "haan toh? Mujhe bhi aapki har baat pata.." she closed her eyes and bit her tongue cutely when she realised what she was saying.

Anuj who realised that his Anu also liked him for quite sometime now teased her saying "meri har baat pata hoti hai?"

Anu blushed and said "woh humein niche chalna chahiye, bohot time hogaya hai.." she rushed downstairs and Anuj followed her with a huge smile on his face.
