We cant deny the importance of chores , it's good and healthy food that is most imp to lead a good life . That's what we take so much pains for. A neat clean home , good food , children constitute a happy family. With so many young girls refusing to live in the traditional joint family set up , n opting a baby sitter / helper for children, and zomato and parties for food , families are falling apart... We need to see that these things are very imp no matter who does it.

The problem is , whether its kavya or Anupama, their contribution in the lives of people around them that needs to be acknowledged. Since these services , cooking Tc of the family etc comes naturally and easily , men like vanraj dont value it.....responsibilities must be balanced . Independence must also be balanced. We need to teach our boys the same things we teach our girls. Along with career and studies , To do chores , cook , and keep the house tidy. We need to teach our girls the same.

Cant deny itv takes a stereotypical route. Kavya automatically disqualifies as a "perfect " wife material bec she cant cook etc . ..vanrajs expectations r laughable too...explains why he puts up with Anupama for so long . The most selfish egoistic arrogant and mean person.

Culinary skills, house keeping, caring for others are skills consciously ingrained in girls and foisted on women by patriarchy. People like Baa are products of that. She hopes that even after Kinjal comes she will rule the roost and be the MIL that orders her as well.

Mrs Dave may be affluent independent but the way she behaves with her husband also seems to suggest that all folks with money are arrogant.

When Kinjal wants to eat Dokla and learn cooking Toshi who is a replica of his dad taunts Anupama.

Kinjal on several occasions picks a bone with Toshi for taking his mom for granted. Though Anupama is blamed raising Toshi to be the opportunist that opts to be a ghar Jamai the truth is he and paaki pick whatever they choose to learn from baa and dad and Winter chooses to bond with cool dude, Anu and mama buddy.

When the drunk toshu creates a scene while everyone wants a sensible handling yet Baa has her joy of tattling but once the pill is found the story becomes a blame game of the most loved punching bag.

Winter even in that moment reassures Kinjal and very sweetly puts across the pluses of his brother though his siblings never spare any effort to put him down.

He has chosen to avoid the toxicity in baa and V and turns out an adorable version of a young person a foil for his siblings.

In time of Covid when we have decided to not keep maid and we have WFH.. We have decided our chores and share the load... only then can both of us can be productive in office as well...

I agree. My parents side , my brother is spoilt rotten , like , he needs to be served hot rotis etc . Thats a norm in my family ...But after his marriage , my bhabhi wasnt too keen to cook n she called out on all his manners n I supported her. Also asked my mom to stop interfering as she is right. In covid times they too , didnt call for a maid and he was doing dishes and helped in cooking also. He takes cares of their daughter more than my bhabhi .I am proud of him 😆 I also encouraged my husband to cook n he does now , every sunday . Otherwise for my mil he is a forever bechara who goes out for work and when he comes back he is tired ..n I sleep the whole day . Apparently.

@agree moonwear. People like baa propagate patriarchy and this is the result. They need to show a more balanced approach towards parenting. Like..Anupama s children were also raised the same way. Here is the problem

This is wrong in so many levels.

We need to come out out of the circle of "only woman will do house chores and man will work outside only".

I really hope the show focuses more on this issue and audience get the messege.

Many have come halfway - so women started going out to work(Full-time jobs). But does that mean - man will help with chores? - Sadly no. Things are changing for sure, but still, most of the household chores are on women.

There was this incident, where an NRI stated that she wanted her daughters to marry non-Indians - why? so they won't spend their whole life doing house chores on top of a full-time job. Non-Indians (Westside) usually divide the work in half and a half.

For most Indian moms, the concept of teaching their son to do the cooking, cleaning is entirely foreign. Applies to Anu - she does all the chores for her children, never thought to teach them how to do on their own. Samar is sensible and mature so he steps in when needed but the other two 😔

I remember them going on and on - defining Anu's duties of what she is supposed to do and not ( The school job incident). Even right now, Toshu being the eldest doesn't think - how he can help to support the finance!

So it is pretty much a spiral of double standards. We all want the best for our kids but neglect the same for other's kids. We have a long way to go!

I Dont know from. Where it is come that men should not do house old chores but if see history then men also use to do house old chores

Like earler when there is gurukul system and boys whether they are prince or pooran all have to do jhaadoo pocha , washing their own cloth with their own hand in gurukul .

Even rishi muni use to prepare food by their own hand

This is so exaggerated!

I am so glad Samar stepped in & saved Anupama from this. It was visible how pathetic she feels when he's around.

And he behaves like he's the king or something🤢

I hope the show won't end with Anupama forgiving & accepting Vanraj someday🤔

Yeah me too hope for the same.

This time anupama should not forgive Vanraj at all.

Yeah...I agree.

Even I was bewildered watching that scene. What are his hands for ?

Can't he serve for himself. And all the games he is trying to play with Anupama really pisses me off.

He has no shame 🤢

I will be really disappointed if at the end Anupama forgives him and they get back together. That's what I am worried about. The whole essence of the show will be lost if something like that happens.
