Is Vanraj a toddler a what?

Why does someone has to serve food on his plate when he can easily do it for himself

This is so exaggerated!

I am so glad Samar stepped in & saved Anupama from this. It was visible how pathetic she feels when he's around.

And he behaves like he's the king or something🤢

I hope the show won't end with Anupama forgiving & accepting Vanraj someday🤔

Tell me about it. But I have seen many men who think its beneath them to serve food, even its for themselves. Infuriating, I know.

Also, why are they showing that Kavya is not as good as Anupama because she can't cook desi food? Like, I am not saying Kavya shouldn't be critised, she was having an affaire with a married man, moreover she was betraying Anupama who essetianlly saw her as a friend/sister and respected her. So, clearly there is lot to show about that aspect of her. But to frame the criticism in a way that she is less of woman (than Anupama) or a less nice of a person because she only cooks pasta is so offensive a,d regressive. Kinda counters the point makers are trying to make that what one cooks or wears doesn't and shouldn't determine one's value or (self-) worth.

The character of Vanraj's mother is way too problematic. She's the reason he thinks very high of himself. She makes big issue of this "serving food" thing

If she is so concerned then why doesn't she do it herself. She can do it by sitting on a chair too.

@ bold: I don't think they are trying to show that. I mean Vee always gets disgusted by the smell of spices emanating from Anupama. But it is also shown that Anupama used to cook all Vanraj's favorite dishes. And today we saw Vee was actually savouring the khichdi. So actually Vanraj is not only an abusive cheating husband, but is also a big hypocrite.

I see your point. And I hope that the makers were really trying to show Vanraj's hypocrisy but honestly the way it was presented seemed like they were putting down Kavya. Again, the whole narrative seems to be- or atleast how it feels to me- is one day Vanraj will get tired of modern, working woman and will regret not respecting Anupama....and while the latter part (realizing not respecting Anupama) would be nice, but I really hope makers dont go to the Biwi no 1 track where modern woman is 1) incapable of looking after family....we are not. We are perfectly capable of having professional and familial life or 2) women not wanting big family and children makes them less of a woman

I understand your point. It's true that a modern independent woman can also be a family person. This is so common in western countries but nowadays even in India, especially younger generation girls are well educated, have a job and also manage the house. I've never lived in India, but I know lots of women there that do the outside job and housework.

But, the point here is, Kavya doesn't want to do the housework or take any responsibility of Vee's family. She just wants him and not his family baggage!! She has some duties towards Vee, if she really considers him a husband. She's not ready to fulfill those duties like a wife. Sure, she is smart and has good qualities but she definitely doesn't know how to maintain relationships. There were instances where she was rude to baa and anupama stepped in. She can be a modern independent woman but if she was also cultured and well mannered then she'd be perfect. But of course, no one is perfect in this world. Lol

Not so long ago, there was a news article about this man who filed for divorce bec his wife couldn't cook food for him as she was a working woman. This is how things are. Like , if these things are so imp for a man they can keep a full time maid/servant/cook. Why marry and spoil somebody's life ?

I see the drift nowadays, young boys and girls hardly care for household chores. Neither do mothers feed their children(not all. Some ) to make them dependent on home cooking . A cook/zomato are better / time saving and convenient options. There will a time ,I am sure ,when women like anupama will be valued more than anyone else😆 coz life always goes in full circle. In current times if we r getting these things we must consider ourselves lucky . Like..my mom is like that ...and I love her.

Vanraj will definetly miss the mollycoddling . Wish they gave more depth to the characters alon with showing such stereotypical issues.
