CHAPTER - 7

Few days later,after Akash recieved Ananya's letter,he went to the mall,to meet her.On seeing him,she as usual asked,"Boliye sir aapko kya chahiye?"Akash made a face as if he was listening to any alien language and asked,"Phir se aap?Abhi bhi kya tum mujhe aap bologi??Abhi to hamaari dosti bhi ho gayi hai na?"Ananya understood that he got her letter.Still,with an attitude,in a complaining tone,she said,"Mujhe kaise pata chalega ke aapko mera letter mila hai.Mujhe to laga ke maine address hi galat daala hai."He understood that she was a bit angry since he didn't reply her immediately on getting the letter.In an apologizing tone,he replied,"Iam so sorry,main janta hu tum thori naraaz ho.Main hi itne dino se tumhaare peeche para tha ke tum meri dosti accept kar lo aur phir jab tumne accept kiya tab main hi tumse milne nehi aaya.Vo actually kya hai na,office mein bohot pressure tha,bohot saare pending files the,to unhe clear karne mein..."He lowered his head and made a very cute gesture.Ananya smiled on seeing his gestures and so she said,"Its ok.Thik hai maine tumhe maaf kiya."On hearing tum' from her lips,Akash almost showed all his teeth with that super cute dimples.She burst out into laughter on seeing his face as if he attained something very valuable.He excitedly said,"To phir chalo mere saath coffee peene."She looked at the time and replied,"Aaj to dukaan par bethna hoga mujhe.Sunday se pehle to mujhe chutti nehi milnewaali."Akash nodded his head and replied,"Ok no problem.Tum mujhe apna phone number do,hum Sunday ko hi milte hai."Her eyes glittered with happiness and she said,"Ok to hum usidin milenge,abhi tum jaao,varna sethji daatenge."He immediately nodded his head and was ready to leave but at the next moment,he again turned towards her and said,"Vo maine tumhaare liye kuch laaya tha.Ek return gift."He inserted his hand inside his suit's pocket and too out a band and a mini teddy bear and gave it to Ananya and said,"Ye mere taraf se friendship band aur ye hamaare dosti ka gift.I hope tumhe pasand aayega."She smiled and accepted those gifts.Akash then too smiled back and left from there.After he left,Ananya looked at the teddy bear and thought though it was a very small teddy but it was just super cue like his dimples.She chuckled with happiness and looked at the way in which Akash left.

On Sunday,according to a plan made by both of them earlier,both met in front of a coffee shop.Akash was so excited that he could not sleep the whole night on the previous day.While he was waiting for him,in the coffee shop,Ananya came within 15 minutes of his arrival.They went inside together and grabbed a table.Akash ordered two coffees and two sandwiches for them.He said,"Pata hai tumse milne ke excitement mein mujhe kal raat ko neend hi nehi aayi."She asked,"Kyu?"He shook his shouders and replied,"Pata nehi."She,in a very hesitant tone replied,"Vaise...neend to raat ko mujhe bhi nehi aayi thi.Actually aaj se pehle main kabhi kisi larke ke saath aise bahar nehi aayi na,to...bohot ajeeb lag raha hai."He understood her dilemma and said,"Main...samajh sakta hu ke tum kaisa feel kar rahi hogi,par daro mat,main tumhe bilkul bhi awkward feel nehi karne dunga."Ananya smiled at him and both became silent since they didn't understand how to resume their conversation.So,she thought of starting the conversation again and said,"Mere baare mein to tum jaante hi ho ke main ek anaath larki hu.Ek orphanage mein rehti hu.Jahatk mera khayaal hai,tumhaari aur Roshni ke dosti ko dekh kar to lagta hai ke usne ye zarur bataaya hoga ke main yaha is dukaan mein kaam kyu kar rahi hu."He nodded his head and replied,"Ha usne tumhaare baare mein mujhe sab bataya hai."He sadly smiled and replied,"Tumhe pata hai,mujhme aur tum mein ek cheez bohot common hai aur vo ye hai ke,tumne bhi apne ma baap ki shakal nehi dekhi aur maine bhi nehi dekhi bas fark itna hi hai ke maine unki photo dekhi hai."Ananya on hearing this understood that he too was an orphan.Sh felt very sad for him but also thought at least he had seen their faces,which she failed.She,in a soft tone asked,"To tum bhi akele ho?"He nodded his head and smiled and replied,"Nehi,meri ek daadi hai.Vo hi meri ma hai aur vo hi mere papa hai.Unke liye bhi main hi sab kuch hu."Ananya smiled and replied,"At least tumhaare paas koi to hai.Mere paas apne bolne laayak sirf mere anaath ashram waale hi hai."She lowered her eyes while saying that.Akash looked at her and asked,"Kyu main nehi hu?"She met her eyes with him and then just smiled instead of replying.She never expected that someone on earth would say something like that to her.In order to change the topic,he asked,"Tumhaare boss Roshni ko school kyu nehi jaane dete?"She replied,"Pata nehi us bachchi se inhe kya problem hai.Maine to college jaana chor diya abhi usko to school bhej hi sakte hai na,par nehi..."He asked,"Tumne unse baat nehi ki?"She nodded her head and replied,"Kiya tha par koi faayda nehi hua,jabtak unke paise chukta nhi honge,hume isi tarah se unki har baat maanni hi hogi."He,in a disturbed tone said,"Ye to koi baat nehi hui na koi kisise jabran mazdoori to nehi karwa sakta hai na."She lowered her head.He asked,"Agar main unse baat karu to tumhe koi problem hogi?"She immediately rejected the plan and replied,"Nehi bilkul bhi nehi,tum aisa hargiz nehi karoge.Tumhe kya zarurat hai hamaare pachre mein parne ki.Tum unse koi baat nehi karoge."Akash replied,"Abhi abhi to tumne meri dosti accept ki aur abhi tum mujhse meri dosti ka haq cheen rahi ho.Main to ye sab tumhaare liye nehi kar raha hu,main ye sab kuch Roshni ke liye kar raha hu,vo to bichaari bachchi hai na.Useki umar nehi hai ye sab kaam karne ki.Abhi to uske parne-likhne aur hasne-khelne ke din hai.Main kal hi jaakar tumhaare boss se baat karunga."Ananya couldn't say anything to him anymore.Their food was served and while giving a sip on the coffee,Ananya asked,"Tumhe achaanak mujhse dosti karne ki kya sujhi?"He gave a bite to the sandwich and replied,"Mujhe tum achchi lagi isliye."She again asked,"Aur main tumhe kyu achchi lagi?"He nodded his head and replied,"Pata nehi bas achchi lag gayi.Par tumne mujhse dosti kyu ki?"In the same way like Akash,Ananya replied,"Mmm,kyuki tumhaare dimples mujhe bohot cute lage."He smiled again and those dimples appeared on his cheeks.They talked about many things in their first meeting and after an hour,both left from there.Before leaving for his own home,he offered lift to Ananya,to which at first,she disagreed but later when Akash pleaded she agreed.He left her to her orphanage and then left for home.

Next day,Akash went to meet Ananya's boss and tried to convince him so that he allows Roshni to attened school,but the boss didn't agree and even insulted him very badly.Akash,from inside was feeling like breaking that man's face but with lots of difficulty he controlled himself.At last,he was successful in persuading Ananya's boss on the condition that on behalf of Roshni,Akash will do a part time job in the shop and that too without any salary.When Ananya asked him about what did the boss say,Akash told her everything.Both Roshni and Ananya were shocked on hearing that Akash was doing all those things.Roshni started crying on knowing this.Akash asked,"Ab tumhe kya hua Roshni??Tumhe to khush hona chahiye ke tum abhi chool jaaogi?"She wiped her tears and replied,"Par Akash bhaiya aapko meri vajah se yaha kaam karna parega na."He patted her cheek and said,"Bhaiya bhi bolti ho aur itna roti bhi ho.Ab jab bhaia bulaaya hai to itna to tumhaare liye kar hi sakta hu na,after all tum meri ek lauti behen jo ho."Ananya asked,"Par Akash tumhaara office bhi to hai na?"He stammered,"Ha...vo-uh...vo...vo main manage kar lunga.You don't worry,vaise bhi meri bohot saari chuttiya pending pari hai."Ananya innocently believed him but she still said,"Tumhe ye sab nehi karna chahiye tha Akash,after all tum itne bare company mein itni achchi job karte ho,upar se tumhaari daadi sunengi to kya kahengi?"He raised his hand and said,"Cool down Ananya!!Tum kitna tension leti ho??Just relax!!Kuch nehi hoga!!Meri daadi agar sunegi na ke main ye sab kyu kar raha hu to vo mujhpar vo fakr karengi.Samjhi!!"Ananya was about to say something,nut he stopped her and said,"Ab aur koi baat nehi.Maine ek baar decide kar liya hai ke main yaha kaam karunga aur Roshni school jaayegi to aisa hi hoga.Bas ab is baare mein aur koi baat nehi hogi."At the end,it was decided that Roshni will go to school from next day.

At night,while Akash was sitting on his arm-chair in his room,Sulekha came to his room with a bowl of his favourate curd.Akash saw her and asked,"Arey daadi aap iswaqt???Koi kaam tha to mujhe bula liya hota??"Sulekha replied,"Chupchap beth aur ye le kheer kha.Vaise bhi aajkal tere paas apni daadi ke liye waqt hi kaha hai.Tu to bas apni us Ananya ke chakkar mein para hua hai,tujhe to uske alava aur kisi bare mein koi hosh hi nehi hai."He smiled and replied,"Arey aisi baat nehi hai daadi,abhi abhi to bas dosti hui hai aur dost hone ke naate mujhe uski har problem solve bhi to karni paregi na,so isiliye maine kal se ek part time job liya hai."Sulekha would have screamed aloud if Akash would have not covered her mouth.He said,"Dheere daadi dheere!!Please chillaana mat!!"She controlled herself somehow and Akash removed his hand.Sulekha said,"Tu na kabhi kabhi aisi baate karta hai ke mujhe heart attack aa jaata hai.Ab ye kaunsa naya drama hai?"He replied,"Drama nehi daadi!!Ye love hai love!!!"She made a face to him and asked,"Pyar???Ye kaisa pyar hai???"He said,"Pata nehi daadi par mere liye to yehi pyar hai."She said,"Achcha ab mujhe saaf saaf sab kuch bata."Akash told her everything and on listening to it,she said,"Dekh beta,main tere feelings ki kadar karti hu.Par itna sab kuch na karke tu seedha seedha uske paise chuka kar bhi to Ananya ki madat kar sakta hai na.To phir ye sab kya hai??Aur maine tujhse kaha tha na ke Ananya ko ye sach bata de ke asal mein tu hai kaun,varna baad mein baat aur bigar jaayegi."He nodded his head and replied,"Main jaanta hu daadi,par jab bhi main is baare mein sochta hu na,meri himmat hi nehi hoti hai usse jaakar ye baat bolne ki,main kya karu daadi,mujhse nehi hota.Main bas abhi sahi waqt ka intezaar kar raha hu."She replied,"Sahi waqt ka intezaar karte karte kahi der na ho jaaye Akash kyuki main nehi chahti ke tum dono ka rishta galatfemi ke buniyaad par bane.Isliye,isse pehle ki der ho jaaye,bol de usko."Akash slightly nodded his head.He emptied the bowl and returned it to her.While leaving,Sulekha said,"Pata hai Akash,kabhi kabhi dil jeetne ke in tareeko se saadgi bohot achchi tarah aur asaani se kaam karti hai.Itni mehnat se dusre ki madat karne ke bajaaye agar yehi kaam seedhi tareke se kar do to impact zyaada parta hai.After aisa to kahi nehi likkha hai na ke ameer larko ko ek aam larki se pyar nehi ho sakta.Its not your fault being rich,aakhir unke paas bhi to dil hota hai na."Saying she left and Akash,on understanding what she said just looked on.

Next day,Akash went to the shop to assist Ananya.The previous night,he remained awaken almost half of the night to gather at least some information about the instruments.On reaching the shop,next day,Akash bowed down in front of Ananya and said,"At your service ma'am!!"She smiled and welcomed him and said,"Welcome Mr Akash Saluja!!"Both entered inside the counter and Ananya did the morning prayers.After Ananya completed the prayers,Akash asked,"Tumne bhagwaan se kya maanga?"She replied,"Ke aaj sales achchi ho,varna...tum out aur Roshni ka school waapas se chut jaayega."He made a face and in a complaining tone said,"Oh to tumhe Roshni ki school ki pari hai,meri koi parvaah nehi hai.Maine to socha tha ke tumne mere liye dua maangi ke main sab kuch thik thak sambhaal lu.Pata hai main subhe se kitna nervous hu."She smiled and replied,"Tum to khud hi volunteer huye the meri madat karne ke liye.Hero banne ka bohot shaukh hai na to ab bhugto."He nodded his head and in a fake angry tone,said,"Ha ha uraalo mera mazaak!!Tumhaari na mujhe madat karni hi nehi chahiye thi.Vaise bhi tum bhi kya yaad rakkhogi ke kisse paala para hai.Maine MBA kiya hai,mujhe achche se pata hai business kaise sambhaalna parta hai.So you just wait and watch!!Tum bas mujhe ye bataao ke transaction kaise hota hai aur kaunsa samaan kaha rakkha hai."Ananya was very impressed with his self confident and so she explained him everything.To her surprise that day,many foreigner customers came in the shop and on seeing them,Ananya was hell nervous thinking how she could handle them as she never faced foreigners and so was not at all good neither in dealing with them nor in the fluency of the language.But the day was saved by Akash and he entertained the customers.He had a tab,with the help of which he was able to give all the information about everything and that too in a very professional way just like he handled his clients.The customers,due to his attitude purchased some instruments.Ananya was totally speechless with his presentation and his salesmanship and especially the way he handled the customers.After the customers left,Akash gave a proud look to her and asked,"To kaisa raha?"She was not in a position to say anything.Still,after a few seconds,she replied,"Tumhaare customers se baat karne ka tareeka agar koi dekhega na to koi nehi kahega ke tum ek simple se staff ho,balki aisa lagta hai ke tum koi bohot bare businessman ho.Really tum to kamaal ho!!"On hearing that,Akash though gave a smile but inside,his heart was totally dried.He swallowed the lump and tried to behave as normal as possible.After that with an attitude,she said,"Well!!!Iam impressed!!"He gave a sigh of relief and replied,"Ananyaji mujhse impressed hai!!!Main to dhanya ho gaya!!Meri to kismat hi khul gayi!!"Ananya laughed and said,"Achcha achcha thik hai,itni nautanki karne ki zarurat nehi hi.He smiled and said,"Chalo,kamsekam,tumhe meri kaabiliyat ka andaaza to hua."Ananya nodded her head and replied,"Itni jaldi nehi,pehle aaj ka din to beet jaane do,phir dekhungi."She too smiled.
