CHAPTER - 8

Slowly days passed by and Ananya and Akash became very close friends.Akash's cute antics and gestures touched Ananya's heart and he made a very special place in her heart.After the work,they often used to go for outing.Everyday,he used to come in the shop without late and used to assist her in her work.For doing that,his own business was suffering a lot and Arun was constantly complaining him for his recklessness but Akash...he was not even in this earth,he was flying in the air of love,enjoying his time with Ananya to the fullest.The air of love which touched Akash with the sensation of a different and unique kind of feeling,the same was happening with Ananya.She,earlier used to like to spend time with Akash but now she loved that.Love was indirectly knocking at her heart and the only difference was she was ignorant about that.

One day,Akash woke up late as usual since he slept late at night,due to clearing off the pending files of his office which were very urgent.When he woke up,he almost jumped under his skin on seeing the time.Within half an hour,he got ready and taking his breakfast in his hand,he ran towards his car.He drove as fast as he could to reach the mall.On the other side,on finding Akash not showing up till then,Ananya became worried for him and continuously started walking in front of the shop,looking here and there.In every one minute,she used to look downstairs through the balcony just in order to get a glance of him.While she was waiting for him restlessly,suddenly her eyes fall on Akash who was entering inside and running towards the stairs.On seeing him,Ananya didn't waste a single second and she too started running towards Akash as if she had found something precious that was lost.She ran to him like a mad and Akash to started coming towards her like a mad.The moment,they collided each other,Ananya left with shock and started breathing very fast.The same was the condition of Akash.Ananya angrily asked,"Kaha the tum???Itni der kyu kiya?"He apologized,"Iam so sorry!!!Vo mujhe aaj thora sa late ho gaya kyuki,mujhe uthne mein der ho gayi to main zara...sa...late ho gaya."Ananya instead of showing sympathy to him,scolded him,"Tum der se uthe???Aur pata hai tumhaare vajah se main kitni pareshaan thi...Tum kabhi der nehi karte par aaj jab tum late huye,to mere dil mein kitne saare bure khayaal aane lage aur mujhe laga..."She stopped instantly.Akash looked into her eyes and lovingly asked,"Kya laga?"She hesitated and replied,"Laga ke...laga ke...jaise tumhe kuch ho gaya hai."She made a worried and scared face and looked at him.He smiled cutely and asked,"Mujhe kya hoga?"She,in a very hesitant voice replied,"Mujhe...nehi pata...ab mere dil mein aisa khayaal aaya to main kya kar sakti thi,isliye...thori...tension ho gayi thi."He said,"Lo abto main aa gaya hu na.Ab to tension waali koi baat hi nehi hai."Ananya still looked very angrily and worried at him.

Without letting Akash explain,Ananya grabbed his hand and pulled him towards the shop.On getting inside the shop,Ananya said,"Agar agli baar tumne aisa kiya to..."Akash replied,"Main bol raha hu na...ke..."Ananya said,"Agar kabhi chutti leni hai to mujhe pehle bataana phir chahe jo kuch bhi karna."He replied,"Main promise karta hu ke aaj ke baad main kabhi late se nehi aaunga aur agar kabhi late hua ya phir nehi aa paya to main tumhe pehle inform kar dunga.Thik hai??"She folded her arms and in an attitude nodded her head.He followed her inside the counter and then he asked,"Tumhe mere liye bohot fikar ho rahi thi kya?"She replied,"Fikar nehi hogi kya?Tum aajtak kabhi late nehi aaye ho aur vaise bhi tum mere friend ho to ek dost ke liye dusre dost ka fikar karna to banta hai na..."He too nodded his head and replied,"Ha vo to hai.Par mujhe na pata hai kya feel ho raha tha?"She asked,"Kya?"He replied,"Mujhe lag raha tha jaise ke tumhe na meri us type ki fikar ho rahi hai,kyuki...jis tarah se tum mujhe dekhte hi bhaag kar aayi na...to...mujhe to ek pal ke liye aisa laga ke..."She,in a suspicious tone asked,"Kya laga?"He lowered down a bit towards her and replied,"Aisa laga jaise ke tumhe mujhse na..."He again became quiet with a naughty smile on her lips and she again asked,"Kaisa laga?"He replied,"Mujhe laga jaise...tumhe mujhse pyar ho gaya hai."She stared at him for sometime and became very embarrassed and uncomfortable and moved a bit away from him and asked,"Ye...ye-ye-kya keh rahe ho?"He shook his shoulders and replied,"Mujhe to bas aisa laga isliye maine aisa keh diya.Aisa nehi hai to nehi hai."Ananya looked very confusingly towards him and thought,"Pata nehi kya barbar kar raha hai.Main aur isse pyar!!!Kuch hi din ki to mulaaqaat hui hai aur ab...Nehi!!Nehi!!Ye bhi koi baat hui bhala.Huh!!"She suddenly became very conscious and thought,"Ye sab main kya soch rahi hu?Mere dimaag mein aise khayaal aur vo bhi ek aise aadmi ke liye jisse mile mujhe zyaada din nehi huye?Main to hamesha anjaan logo se dur rehti thi to phir ye?Nehi nehi mujhe apne dil mein aise khayaal aane hi nehi dene chahiye."Suddenly Akash asked,"Tumne kuch kaha?"She looked at him with a jerk and replied,"Nehi...nehi-nehi-to!!Kyu??"He replied,"Nehi mujhe aisa laga jaise dil hi dil mein tumne mujhse kuch kaha."She very strictly replied,"Tum vaise bhi aajkal bohot zyaada sochne lage ho isliye sochna bandh karo aur apne kaam mein dhyaan do.Samjhe?"In order to divert her mind,she said to him,"Main andar samaan ki checking karne ja rahi hu tabtak counter sambhaal lena tum."He obediently nodded his head.When she left,he said in his mind,"Kuch to hai Miss Rawat!!Tum mujhse kuch na kuch to chupa hi rahi ho."He smiled himself.

At night,while taking oil message from Aarti,Ananya asked,"Aarti ma main aapse kuch kahu?"Aarti felt very weired and asked,"Tujhe kabse mujhse baat karne ke liye permission ki zarurat parne lagi?"She said,"Thik hai par aap promise karo ke aap mujhpar hasogi bhi nehi aur mujhe paagal bhi nehi kahogi."Aarti replied,"Hasne ya tujhe paagal samajhne laayak koi bhi baat hogi to...main koi guarantee nehi de sakti."Ananya became angry and replied,"Jaao main aapse baat nehi karti.Nehi bolungi main aapko kuch bhi."Aarti showed an attitude and replied,"Huh!!Baat to aise kar rahi hai jaise mujhe bina bataaye tera khaana hajam honewaala hai.Ab zyaada bhaao mat kha aur bol bhi de."Ananya washed away her anger and said,"Vo na...vo...maine aapko Akash ke baare mein bataya tha na...vo na ab mere saath shop mein kaam karta hai,Roshni ke jagah par..."Aarti replied,"Ha main jaanti hu tune hi mujhe bataya tha to ab kya hua..."Ananya became very hesitant and thought what to answer,but thought she had to say about her recent feelings to Aarti,otherwise her stomach will start paining due to the secret.She took a few seconds and replied,"Vo na...Akash hai na...vo...vo..."Aarti asked,"Kya hua usko?"Ananya replied,"Vo na aajkal mujhe na uske saath bara ajeeb sa feel hota hai.Vo na...aisa lagta hai jaise ke...jaise ke...pata nehi.Mujhe kuch bhi samajhme nehi aa raha hai."Aarti thought about something and understood her feelings,she asked,"Kya tujhe pet mein gudgudi hoti hai?"Ananya innocently replied,"Ha vo to hoti hai."Aarti asked,"Kya tujhe aisa lagta hai ke usko dekhne ke baad bas uske saath hi tujhe waqt bitaana achcha lagta hai?"Ananya replied,"Ha bohot achcha lagta hai."Aarti smiled and replied,"Tab to aaj pura pakka ho gaya hai."She asked,"Kya pakka ho gaya?"Aarti replied,"Yehi ke tere dil mein Akash ke liye kuch kuch hone laga hai.You are in love."Ananya almost jumped under her skin and asked,"Pyar???Ye kya bol rahe ho aap?"Aarti replied,"Teri bimaari ke jo symptoms tune mujhe abhi bataya hai na vo saare pyar ki nishaaniya hi hai.Aisa tab hi hota hai jab kisiko kisise pyar ho jaata hai aur jaisa ke tune Akash ke baare mein mujhe bataya hai ke usne Roshni ke liye kya kya kiya hai,usse to mujhe vo bohot achcha larka lagta hai.I must say Ananya,tujhe ye mauka nehi chorna chahiye."Ananya angrily replied,"Isiliye na aapse mujhe kuch bhi kehne ka mann nehi karta hai.Aap hamesha aise hi karti ho."Aarti said,"Ab maine kya kiya??Tune jo bola maine bhi to tujhe vohi bataya hai na."She got up from her sit and said,"Thik hai ab mujhe jo kehna tha maine vo keh diya ab tu jaane aur teri kismat,mujhe kya hai?"Ananya replied,"Thik hai aapko koi zarurat nehi hai mujhe suggestion dene ki.Mujhe nehi chahiye aapki madat.Huh!!"Saying Ananya left from there.Aarti laughed herself and said in her mind,"Pehle pehle pyar mein bilkul aisa hi hota hai Ananya,bas tujhe is baat ko accept karne ki der hai.Bhagwaan kare tujhe zindagi mein saari khushiyan miley."Saying she smiled.

Next day,when Ananya reached the shop,she found that Akash had already arrived and was waiting for her.On seeing her,he said,"Dekho aaj main tumhaare pehle aa gaya."She appreciated him and replied,"Very good!!Aise hi dil laga kar kaam karo dekh lena bohot jaldi tarakki karoge."Akash joined his hands in front of her and said,"Jo aagya deviji!!"Ananya opened the shutter of the shop and then instead of her that day,Akash started doing the prayers.Ananya,on seeing that remembered Aarti's words last night.

When Ananya was about to come out of the car,Akash stopped her and asked,"Ananya...uh...are you alright?"Ananya gave a weired look to him and asked,"Kya matlab?"He replied,"Nehi...uh...aaj subhe se dekh raha hu,tum kuch ajeeb behave kar rahi ho...I mean...itni caring to tum mere saath kabhi nehi thi.I mean...thi...par aaj aisa lag raha hai ke tum vo Ananya nehi ho jise main hamesha se jaanta tha.You know...mere liye lunch laana...and all...I hope you understand."Ananya started looking here and there to hide her feelings and said,"Uh...uh...vo...vo kya hai na,tumne hamaare liye itna kuch kiya hai.Tum apna kaam chorkar hamaari madat kar rahe ho.Tumhaare vajah se aaj Roshni school ja pa rahi hai,to mujhe bhi to tumhaare liye kuch karna chahiye na...to isiliye maine socha ke tumhaare liye khaana banalu...bas..."Akash tried to behave as being convinced but,he was not but still he said,"Ok!!Well good night!!Bohot raat ho gayi hai,daadi mera intezaar kar rahi hogi."Ananya nodded her head and then came out of the car and before leaing she said,"Kal phir se der mat karna par agar der ho to mujhe inform kar dena."Akash too nodded his head.Ananya then wished him goodnight and both went to their own ways.

Ananya fully accepted that she was madly in love with Akash.She said to herself,"Aaj jab Akash shop par aayega na to main sabse pehle usey apne dil ki baat bol dungi ke..."Though she was just standing in front of the mirror and saying it to her own image,but still she was blushing like hell.She continued,"Ke...main tumse bohot pyar karti hu..."Suddenly an idea stuck in her head and she said,"Nehi aaj main uske shop mein aane tak ka intezaar nehi karungi.Aaj main usey,uske office mein jaakar surprise karti hu."She thought it to be the better option and then said,"Aakhir main bhi to dekhu ke vo office mein kaise kaam karta hai."She decided to get ready with care just for Akash.She took shower for a long time and then took another hour to get ready for him.Aarti was coming to her room and saw her getting ready like that and was surprised.She asked,"Ananya???Ye aaj itna saj dhaj kar kaha ja rahi hai?"Ananya,who was lost in her own world,was startled on hearing her voice.She turned towards her with a jerk and with an embarrassed smile replied,"N-n-nehi!!Kuch bhi nehi!!Vo to bas aise hi...vo dukaan mein ja rahi hu na."Aarti entered inside and said,"Itna saj dhaj ke shop mein...Mmmhmmm!!!Tu duniya se jhut bol sakti hai,mujhse nehi.Chal bata kya baat hai.Bohot khil rahi hai aaj to tu."Ananya understood that she would not be able to hide anything from Aarti and so she surrendered in front of her and said,"Vo...kya hai na ke...main aaj Akash se uske office mein milne ja rahi hu.Aaj..."She blushed and continued,"Main usey ye bataane waali hu ke...main usse pyar karti hu."Aarti became very happy on hearing that and she hugged Ananya out of happiness and said,"Oh...Ananya tujhe nehi pata ke tune mujhe aaj kitni bari khushi di hai.Main hamesha chahti hu ke mere orphanage ke bachcho ki zindagi savar jaaye.Vo zindagi mein kuch ban jaaye.Aaj mujhe khushi hai ke tune apne liye ek achcha jeevan saathi chuna hai..."Ananya stopped her and said,"Off oh Aarti ma!!!Aap bhi na!!Mujhe usse pyar hai ab mujhe ye nehi pata ke usey bhi mujhse pyar hai ya nehi aur aap shaadi tak pohoch gayi.Pehle mujhe usse baat to kar lene do."Aarti said,"Jahatak mera tajurba kehta hai ke jo larka bas kuch hi dini ki dosti ke liye,khud tere saath kaam karke Roshni ko school bhej sakta,usey to main hargiz definitely sirf dosti to nehi hogi."Ananya said,"Pata nehi...par ha itna pata hai ke main..."She took up her bag and said,"late ho rahi hu aur vo bhi aapke vajah se to abhi main nikalti hu kyuki shop jaane se pehle mujhe Akash ke office jaana hai usey surprise karne."Before Ananya walked out,Aarti told her from behind,"Kya hua mujhe phone karke bataana zarur."Ananya nodded her head from the main gate and then left from there.

While,on the road,she stopped in front of a flower shop and purchased a bunch of white lilies for Akash.She then stopped an auto and asked the driver to take her to the Saluja Constructions.After reaching there,she paid the auto and came out of it.She was a bit nervous when she stood in front of such a big company and then with trembling feet and fast beating heart,she climbed the stairs and stopped in front of the office main door.After entering inside,Ananya went to the receptionist and then asked,"Uh...excuse me!!Uh...Mr Akash Saluja isi office mein kaam karte hai na?"The receptionist's eyes went wide on hearing that.She wanted to confirm what Ananya had just said now since she thought she might have heard something wrong.She asked,"Iam sorry mam!!!What did you say just now???"Ananya again repeated,"Akash Saluja yehi kaam karte hai na?"The receptionist asked,"Kya aap yaha pehli baar aayi hai?"Ananya nodded her head.The receptionist gave a mocking smile to her and asked,"Mam aapko pata bhi hai aap kya keh rahi hai?"Ananya innocently looked at her and replied,"Ji main kuch samjhi nehi."The receptionist replied,"Mam Akash Saluja yaha kaam nehi karte hai...balki ye pura office...ye company unhiki hai.Kaam hum yaha karte hai aur vo hamaare boss hai,is company ke chairman."Ananya got the greatest shock of her life on hearing that.She didn't know how to react as she totally became numb on this news.After she gathered some sense,she asked,"Kya-bol-rahi-hai-aap???"The girl replied,"Ha mam main sahi keh rahi hu lagta hai kisine aapke saath mazaak kiya hoga ya phir aapke paas information hi galat thi."She could easily understand that she was loosening the strength to stand anymore,but still,somewhere her heart was not able to accept that Akash,the person whom she had just started loving unconditionally had lied to her.Ananya,controlled herself and asked,"Kya main unse mil sakti hu?"She replied,"Par sir abhi meeting mein busy hai."Ananya,with a blank expression replied,"Main andar nehi jaaungi,mujhe bas unka cabin ek baar dekhna hai."The girl nodded her head and then took her to Akash's cabin.

Akash was busy in the meeting with some deligates in his cabin.Ananya reached outside his cabin and she found the digged writting on his door,'MR AKASH SALUJA , CHAIRMAN'.On reading that,she again was a bit taken back.She stood in front of the door,for sometime.Akash was busy in the meeting that he didn't even look at the door for a single second.Suddenly,for a second,Akash's eyes fall on the door and on seeing Ananya there,his heart skipped a bit.He quickly raised up from his seat with a jerk and horrified expression.He came out of the cabin with quick steps and called Ananya.Just when he opened the door,he found Ananya glaring at him with tears in her eyes.He didn't know what to say to her and just uttered,"An-an-ya..."She wiped her tears and turned her back to him and started walking outside.Akash followed her to the reception and said from the back,"Meri baat to...suno...Ananya!!!"But Ananya left from there.Akash helplessly stood behind in the hall.The receptionist came behind him and said,"Sir!!!Ye larki aayi thi aapse milne aur kaha ke aap yaha kaam karte hai to maine usey ye bol diya hai ke aap yaha ke boss hai aur ye larki tab se ajeeb se behave kar rahi hai."In a frightened voice,she asked,"Mujhse koi galti ho gayi hai kya sir?"Akash,in an helpless but complaining tone asked,"Ye kya kiya tumne Mona darling???Meri love story shuru hone se pehle hi khatam kar di??"Mona asked,"Ye aapki girlfriend thi sir??"He replied,"Nehi!!Is company ki honewaali maalkin,jisey maine abhi tak propose bhi nehi kiya."Mona repentfully replied,"Iam so sorry sir!!"He said,"Isme actually galti tumhaari nehi hai,meri hai.Jhut maine bola hai,daadi ne mujhse baar baar bola tha par main sahi mauke ka intezaar kar raha tha,par aaj mujhe pata chala,sach ke liye har waqt sahi hota hai.Ab mujhe jaakar usse maafi maangni hogi."He told his secretary,"Tum jaakar andar kaho,ke baaki ki meeting kisi aur din continue karenge kyuki mujhe ek personal kaam ke liye abhi bahaar jaana hai."Saying,he then left from his office.

Akash reached the shop as soon as possible and on seeing him,Ananya's eyes glowed with hatred and she decided to behave as if he was a customer.Before Akash could say anything,Ananya asked,"May I help you..."She,then,with a heavy voice continued,"Sir?"Akash understood that she was madly angry with him.He replied,"Dekho Ananya main jaanta hu ke tum mujhse bohot gussa ho aur tumhe haq bhi hai kyuki jhut maine bola hai tumse,par yakeen maano,mera intention bura nehi tha..."She,ignored all these and asked,"Aapko kaunsa instrument dikhaau sir?"He said,"Ananya please suno na meri baat.Mujhe apni baat to kehne do..."She again asked,"Naye instruments ka naya stock aaya hai sir..."He became irritated at her constant ignoring behaviour.He forcefully entered inside the counter and grabbed her hand and took her inside.Ananya said,"Mera haath choriye sir!!Main aapke office mein kaam karnewaali staff nehi hu."Akash angrily said,"Isse pehle ke main kuch bolu,just stop calling that bullshit sir'..."She smiled mockingly and replied,"Saluja Constructions ke chairman ko main aur kis naam se bulaau sir??"Akash found it hopeless to argue with her and said,"Thik hai jo chahe bulaao,par pehle tumhe meri puri baat sunni paregi."She asked,"Ab sunne ko kuch aur baaki kya reh gaya hai??"He replied,"Tumhe sunna hoga,tumhe janna hoga ke maine ye sab kuch kyu kiya,uske baad tumhe jo thik lage kar lena."He took some breath to cool down his nerves and replied,"Main jaanta hu maine galat kiya,mujhe jhut nehi bolna chahiye tha,par main majboor tha.Mujhe dar lag gaya tha ke jaise maine apne ma baap ko kho diya,vaise hi kahi main tumhe na kho du,kyuki...I have fallen in love with you.Jisdin se maine tumhe dekha hai,bas tum hi tum mere dimaag mein chaayee rehti ho.Jaha dekhta hu sirf tum nazar aati ho.Main deewana ban gaya hu puri tarah se.Mujhe dart ha ke kahi mera sach jaanne ke baad tum mujhse baat karna bandh na kardo.Maine harbaar socha ke main tumhe sach bata du,par tumhaari dosti milne ke baad mujhse himmat nehi hui sach bolne ki."Ananya was spellbound at his confession.She didn't know,whether she should be happy on knowing that Akash too loves her or she should be angry that he lied to her.But,as she loved her too much,so her anger won over and said,"Tumne to rishtey ki shuruwaat hi jhut se ki hai.Jis rishtey ki buniyaad jhut ya dhokha hota hai,vo rishta kabhi parvaan nehi charta."He helplessly replied,"Main apni galti maan to raha hu na.Tum jo bhi saza dogi mujhe manzur hai.Bolo na ke main aisa kya karu ke tum mujhe maaf kardo?"She looked at him for sometime and with a cold voice replied,"Chale jaao yaha se aur yaha waapas kabhi mat aana."He was shocked on hearing what Ananya said just now.He asked,"Tum jaanti bhi ho ke tum kya keh rahi ho??Main chala jaaunga to Roshni..."She stopped him and said,"Tumhe meri ya Roshni ki fikar karne ki koi zarurat nehi hai.Uske kismat mein jo hoga,vohi hoga.Abhi please jaao yaha se aur dubaara mujhse kabhi milne ki koshish mat karna."Though she was saying,but she had tears of pain in her eyes and her heart was squeezing with pain.Akash said,"Thik hai!!Main chala jaata hu,par ye shop tumhaari nehi hai aur naahi ye mall tumhaara hai,isliye main yaha roz aaunga aur tumhe mujhe rokne ka koi haq nehi hai.Main tumse pyar karta hu aur main tumhe mana kar hi rahunga.Ye mera waada hai tumse,chahe iske liye mujhe kuch bhi kyu na karna pare."Saying he left from there leaving Ananya weeping all alone inside the shop.
