Arbaaz on DKD and Salman

Arbaaz Khan who was on Salman Khan's Dus Ka Dum sets with brother Sohail, shares his experience of being on the show.

Says Arbaaz, "DKD is very good game show. It has a very interesting and challenging concept. Firstly, you cannot understand it because there are no accurate answers to it. It all depends on judgment. It is like a jackpot or lottery and then you win a prize money which is very high. Above all the person who conducts this show is Salman Khan. Toh show me char chand lag jaate hai. Then we got a chance to be on the show and as bothers we have great chemistry and bonding with each other. This is for first time that we three brothers shared screen space on television. We enjoyed this show a lot."

He further adds, "I have seen few episodes of show before this thought I cannot see it regularly. My mother reminds me of it if I am outside then she calls me and asks me to come home before 9. DKD is a very new show. Of course Power of Ten is there but we could not manage to see that show. We did mock rehearsals with Salman so we knew the set up and all for it. Then on set also we had mock rehearsals so it was not difficult for me."

Arbaaz admits, "I was nervous initially. I love my brother very much and lots of people were discussing how he will perform on television. I always wanted the best for him like he wants the best for his family. He plays a role in films but here we get to see his hospitality. He is very media shy person so his views never come in the press."

He further continues, "Somewhere Salman the actor and Salman the person was not visible anywhere. He does not get involved in giving clarifications. But this show fortunately though unintentionally gives him the opportunity to show his real side. Some people think he is a bad person but he is not. So we are also happy because this is how is Salman is. He cannot pretend."

Arbaaz signs off saying, "I am extremely impressed by him not because he is my brother. Mostly all hosts are typical, their language and pauses are perfect Salman tends to break that law. Shah Rukh breaks that rule of being a perfect host to becoming a candid person. Salman is totally opposite, and he is more of a carefree person. There are lots of people who like him like that. He has hosted this show in his style."

Arbaaz Khan and Sohail Khan are going to be on the show to promote their upcoming film Hello. The episode will be aired on Saturday.

When Salman tricked Atul

Salman Khan is known to be a mischievous guy. He never stops short of pulling anyone?s leg be it a friend or a relative.

Recently, Salman had invited his younger brothers Arbaaz and Sohail to participate in his show Dus Ka Dum. Throughout the show, the brothers entertained the viewers with their witty tales. While brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri wasn?t present, Salman Khan narrated a funny incident about his dear jijaji.

Salman recalled an incident when he had gone to a party with Atul Agnihotri. After sometime, Atul left from the party and no one knew where he disappeared. Salman called up sister Alvira and told her that he has dropped Atul and hope he?s reached home safely. Needless to say Alvira did not speak to Atul for a whole month demanding to know where he was that night! Atul thinks that the Khans are not three brothers but four in all ? wife Alvira is a "Bhai" too.

Well, all we can say to Atul is that there is simply no escaping from the Khan family.

Rakhi Sawant proposes Salman Khan!

Along with Rani Mukherjee and Lara Dutta, on the Grand finale of 10 Ka Dum were two other celebrity guests: Shakeel Siddiqui, the king of comedy and Rakhi Sawant the drama queen.

If you think it was an episode that goes from the sublime to the ridiculous think again. If Rani and Lara were entertaining in their own way, then Rakhi and Shakeel had the audience rolling over in laughter.

Caught between Shakeel's quick wit and Rakhi's quicker retorts, even Salman Khan was left speechless. More so when Rakhi offered a solution to his bachelor status – "Marry me!" she offered and even produced a ring.

Salman Khan's adieu to the small screen with the first season of 10 Ka Dum could not have been better!

Watch 10 Ka Dum Grand finale on Sunday, September 14 2008.

Lara Dutta on DKD

Lara Dutta and Rani Mukherji are going to be special guests on the Dus Ka Dum finale. Both Rani and Lara had gala time on a show. Before being on the show, Lara spoke to us about it.

Talking about the concept of the show, she says, "It is a unique concept. Here the audience gets a chance to know what you are in real life. Most of the times they think that you are like you're on screen character. If you play any glamorous character they think that you are really galmourous. So this is a chance to show your real jhalak to them."

Lara praised Salman for his hosting skills but when asked about her chances of hosting, she says, "I do not think I can host. There are no such offers for me though all big names are attached to reality shows."

On SRK and Salman's hosting skills, she says, "According to me they are far better. Salman is doing something special than the usual hosting and he is best at it. On the other hand Shah Rukh has his own charm so there has to be something special in your hosting."

When asked what questions she wants to ask to Sallu, she immediately says, "Everyone has already asked him that - when is he getting married? If the entire world is behind him why should I waste the opportunity?"

Praising Salman further, she adds, "Everyone knows that he is very nice person at heart. If you do not take panga with him, he is very polite with everyone. The most important thing everyone likes about him is his upbringing. Salim uncle and aunty are wonderful. If you know Salman or any of his brothers then you naturally come to know about their family."

The episode featuring Lara Dutta and Rani Mukherji will be telecast this weekend. Before them Rakhi Sawant, comedian Shakeel Ahmed and Indian Idol 4 judges Annu Maliek –Kailash Kher will also be seen in the finale.

Rani ready to do a mujra for Salman!

The grand finale of 10 Ka Dum turned out to be like no other episode in the entire season. With two of Salman's lovely leading ladies Rani Mukherji and Lara Dutta for company Salman was at his happiest and wittiest.

It was also a study in contrasts: the slim and leggy Lara stood tall in front of all petite Rani. While Rani chatted nineteen to a dozen with all and sundry, including the audience and crew in the break, Lara stood demurely and spoke when required.

But it was Rani who ruled. She was just delighted to be there on Salman's show. She did not even want to be told the rules of the game: "I have been watching the show, I know the rules!" she quipped. "Anything for Salman – I'll even do a mujra right now if you ask me!" she said to a thunderous applause from the studio audience. She definitely lives up to her name: Queen of Hearts!

Salman's 'show' of concern
The Khan is planning a star-studded show in aid of the Bihar flood victims with politician Sanjay Nirupam

Last Sunday, Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam had arranged a special rally as a part of the Bihar Flood Relief Fund. Though invited for the same, Salman Khan couldn?t attend it as he was busy with the shoot of a film.

However, Salman decided to make up for his absence. He is now planning a star-studded show to raise money for the cause. He spoke to Nirupam regarding the same and the duo has decided to make it a large scale event. Nirupam says, ?Salman has always been at the forefront when it comes to causes like this. He asked me to get in touch with a well-known event management company to arrange the show. There are three parts to any crisis?rescue, relief and rehab. We hope to raise funds for the rehabilitation of the flood victims.?

When asked who is on his wish-list of participants, Nirupam says, ?All the big names of Bollywood, including Mr Bachchan! I am sure all of them will be more than ready to be a part of such a show. Bollywood has always helped during any such crisis.?

The final details of the show however are yet to be revealed. According to Nirupam, they are still working on some details and the venue and date can only be divulged after a few days. ?Most stars are out of the country. So it would take some time to get all their dates together,? he says.

Salman himself would be flying out of the country on September 14 for a long schedule abroad. However, he has promised to fly to Mumbai just for a day or two during the show. Though Salman was not available for comment, a friend confirms, ?Yes, Salmanbhai is very keen on being a part of this show. He will manage to take some time out and fly down especially for this show.?

Salman says 'No' to smoking for 'Heroes'
By MM, 10 September, 2008
Salman%20says%20No%20to%20smoking%20for%20HeroesSalman Khan has given up smoking… but only when he is dressed as a Sikh. Confused? Well, Salman, who is playing a Sikh in Samir Karnik's Heroes has decided, that out of respect for the religion, he will refrain from smoking while dressed in the Sikh attire.

Says Vikas Kapoor, producer of the film, "Salmanbhai respects all religion and follows them religiously.

He was aware that Sikhs generally don't smoke as their religion does not permit them to, and hence, out of respect for the religion, he too did not smoke.

He is a chain smoker, but his respect for the turban he wore kept him from smoking, all through the film. He often spent ten hours in his costume, and never touched a cigarette!"

Sallu to exhibit his paintings

The star will donate the proceeds from the sale of his artworks to his foundation, reports Soumyadipta Banerjee.

Salman Khan is again going through a phase. The elusive star has become a lot more forthcoming these days. After opening up about his spat with Shah Rukh Khan, Salman has now revealed that he is going to hold a public exhibition of his paintings and sketches by this December in Mumbai.

Salman has his own studio in his Bandra apartment where he spends hours sketching and painting. His close friends reveal that Salman locks himself up in the studio for hours whenever he 'doesn't want to meet anybody'. Also, he will gift his painting to only somebody he's really fond of.

What many don't know is that Salman also loves photography and carries a DSLR camera on outdoor locations. Salman confirms, "Yes, I sketch and paint whenever I have the time. Now that you ask, yes, I do photography as well."

Sources say that Salman will put up some of his selected works (both photographs and paintings) for sale and the proceeds will go towards his foundation Salman Khan Foundation. Salman's staff is already negotiating with a reputed city gallery regarding this.

Salman adds, "My exhibition will hopefully be held within two months if all goes as per schedule."

Is it true that he has 'adopted' a few girls from an orphanage and bears all their expenses? Salman confirms this but refuses to reveal the details, "Yes, through my foundation I try to help people who need support. But I would rather not talk about it."
So what's next on Salman's agenda? He says for now, it's his film Hello. The star goes on reveal the plot, "I had read the book One Night @ The Call Centre and really liked it. I play myself (a movie star) who is on a world tour in the film. I get to hear the story of six people who work at a call centre and how they happen to receive a phone call from God. It's a very gripping story. The idea of doing this excited me."

It's well-known that Salman is fond of writing too. Is he co-writing a movie script?

"Why would I co-write a script? I will write it myself than with someone else. I have written the script of my film Veer," he answers. Any plans to get in to direction? "I've no immediate plans to direct," Salman ends.

Sallu goes house-hunting for Asin

Khan is said to be not only promoting the South Indian actor but also helping her find a pad in Bandra

It seems that South Indian actress Asin Thottumkal is slowly becoming a hot favourite with Salman Khan. The Ghajini actress is also co-starring with Salman in London Dreams.

With there have been rumours about Salman gifting ?something special? to his new-found friend, here?s something new.

A source close to Salman reveals, ?Both of them have bonded really well on the sets of Vipul Shah?s London Dreams. Though Asin is all set for her debut with Aamir Khan in the Ghajini remake this year end, Salman has started recommending her to other filmmakers in tinsel town.?

In the past, Salman is known to have recommended many actresses including Katrina Kaif, Bruna Abdallah and Mahek Chhal among others.

?While Asin holds much credibility in the South, Salman is very impressed with her acting prowess. Now, Asin is in talks with a few big banners,? adds the source.

Asin is also planning to relocate from the South and make Mumbai her base. ?Salman is going all out to help her find a pad in Bandra where he also stays. He is keen on getting a properly furnished apartment in Bandra. In all possibility Asin will have her flat by the year?s end,? adds the source.

A missed call for Salman Khan
Salman Khan won't be available for any of the promotional events of his forthcoming film Hello
When every other star is going out of his way to promote his film and cashing in on every opportunity to talk about a forthcoming release, here's Salman Khan who walking on the other end of the line.

Though the filmmakers of Salman Khan's forthcoming film Hello are drawing up extensive pre-release promotion plans, Salman Khan, the star attraction of the film, who is currently busy with his shooting schedules, won't be able to attend any of this.

Atul Agnihotri, the director of the film, denies rumours that they had to change the pre-release promotion plans because Salman had to suddenly travel abroad for shooting. It has been rumoured that the film originally planned the promotions mainly around Salman. Even the promos and music videos that are on air project Salman as the selling point of the film.

"We have some good plans to promote our film. We will be travelling to some call centres, visiting different cities where Chetan Bhagat's novel was a roaring success and do some events there too. Salman, unfortunately, cannot be with us for all these things as he will be busy shooting. He will be missed for sure," the director says, smiling.

Atul adds, "Who has told you that our promotional plans were only focussing on Salman? We knew two months back that Salman bhai is going to be busy and so we modelled our promotions without him. Chetan is very much the star of the film as anyone else and so a lot of promotional activities are centred around him too. We can't expect Salman to be always there to bail us out of everything."

The director also threw some light on why almost all promos and videos focus on Salman. "The film does not have much scope for music videos. There were originally three songs and then the 'Hello' soundtrack was created. Out of these four videos two feature Salman. So, there is not much to offer to audiences other than these four videos and all of them are on air," he ends.
