Surbhi Jyoti reveals promo shoot with Salman Khan for Bigg Boss was 'PR TRICK': 'Won't participate because..'

Television actress Surbhi Jyoti, recognized for her roles in shows like Naagin 3, Qubool Hai and more has been approached multiple times to participate in the reality show Bigg Boss. Despite the recurring offers, she has consistently chosen not to join the show.

In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, Surbhi explained her decision, stating, "I think I'm not that competitive. I used to be very competitive when I used to participate in theatre and in debates in college. I won so many national championships in debates. But that's what I wanted to do to just go and perform the character and say my lines." She further elaborated, "By nature, I'm not that competitive." Surbhi emphasized her preference for a more relaxed and focused approach to her career, saying, "I don't wish to go 'hard' on myself. It's just not me."

Her decision also stems from her initial aspirations in the entertainment industry. Surbhi mentioned that she moved to Mumbai with the intent to pursue acting, not to engage in competitive reality shows. She added, "I came to Mumbai to do acting and to be a part of a competition. It's just not me."

Surbhi's connection resurfaced after an old promotional shoot with Salman Khan led to speculation about her joining the show. However, she clarified that the video was only a marketing strategy. In the same interview, Surbhi confirmed that the promo shoot was never meant to suggest she was entering the Bigg Boss house. “It was a PR trick,” she said, referring to the buzz created by the campaign. When asked directly if she would ever consider being part of the show, her response was clear: “No.”

Surbhi was last seen in the web series Qubool Hai 2.0, a digital continuation of her earlier television show. She has also worked in Naagin 3 and other fiction series across mainstream channels. While she continues to be active in television and OTT formats, she has shown no interest in reality programming like Bigg Boss, focusing instead on scripted content.
