On Huma Qureshi’s birthday, her brother Saqib Saleem released the official teaser of their first production, Baby Do Die Do, under their newly launched banner, Saleem Siblings. The film introduces Huma in the lead role as Baby Karmarkar — described as India’s first desi female assassin — in a world shaped by neo-noir tones, dark humour, and emotional chaos.
The teaser opens in a parking lot where Huma’s character appears holding a rifle, calm yet alert. Two men nervously talk about her disappearance, hinting at her feared and unpredictable presence. Another scene shows her on a train where a man calls her a “female hitman.” She coolly corrects him: “female hitwoman,” asserting her identity with precision. The scenes set up a character who is as fierce as she is deliberate.

Acknowledging that an early “sneaky link” had already gone around, he clarified this was the real launch — big screen, big scale, big risk.
He praised Huma not just for acting but for living the character. “You didn’t just act in this film… you became it,” he added. Saqib also addressed the effort it took to make the film happen. As a producer, he acknowledged the challenges. As a brother, he stood in admiration: “You’ve never needed noise to make an impact. And today the whole world’s watching.”
The film also stars Chunky Panday and Sikandar Kher, and blends satire, absurdity, and emotional depth. Huma’s role appears to straddle the line between outrageous and deeply relatable, promising a protagonist who doesn’t fit into a box.
With this teaser, the Saleem siblings have announced their arrival with an unconventional, character-driven narrative. Baby Do Die Do marks the beginning of their production journey — one that dares to be bold, sharp, and far from formulaic.
