Actor Karan Veer Mehra took to social media today to remember his late friend and actor Sushant Singh Rajput on his 5th death anniversary. In a heartfelt post, he shared a series of unseen photos with Sushant, along with a long note recalling their close bond and the impact Sushant had on his life.
Karan addressed Sushant as “Kamini” in the post, a name that seems to reflect their friendly and personal equation. He began his note by saying that this day remains a dark one for him and that this year feels a little harder. He expressed that he is now walking on the path that Sushant had once helped him chart out.
He recalled a time when he was unsure about continuing in the entertainment field and had started thinking about switching careers. During that phase, it was Sushant who sat him down, discussed everything in detail, breakdowns, pros and cons, even mathematics and science, and gave him clarity and motivation to continue.

Although this day remains a black day for the rest of my life, this year pinches a bit more. I am on the road map you set out for me. I wish I could share this with you and make you proud, coz when no one believed in me you did, I myself had started looking for other career options is when you sat me down, with break downs, pro n cons, maths , sciences ,engined it all for me , to push me in the right direction. I am not demeaning what i have been blessed with , but the fame , money , prizes , adulation feels a tad bit less with you not around. Being Dyslexic, It was you who pushed me to reading & i developed this knack of stealing poetry,
Here’s one for you “Maine khuda se pucha wo kyun Chhodh gaya mujhe, Uski kyaa majburi thi... “Khuda” ne kaha na kasoor tera tha, Naa galti uski thi, Maine ye kahani likhi hi adhuri thi” Looking up to thank you always stay happy where ever you are my Kamini.

Karan shared that although he is grateful for the success he has now, be it fame, money, or public support, it feels incomplete without Sushant. He openly wrote that things would have meant more if Sushant was still around to see them.
He also spoke about his own struggles with dyslexia and mentioned how Sushant encouraged him to read. That push helped him develop a habit of reading and even led him to enjoy poetry. To honour his friend, he shared a short poem about loss and fate. The poem reflects a conversation with God about why someone had to leave, ending with the thought that the story was always meant to be left incomplete.
Signing off as “Kutti,” he ended the post by saying he will always look up and thank Sushant, wishing peace for him wherever he is. Karan’s post has received a lot of attention from fans who continue to remember Sushant Singh Rajput with love and respect.
