Kapil Sharma and Rajiv Thakur suffered MAJOR FINANCIAL STRUGGLE while trying to buy a flat in Mumbai

Kapil Sharma and Rajiv Thakur are comedic powerhouses, known not only for their professional partnership but also for their strong bond of friendship. Settling in a city like Mumbai isn’t easy for everyone, the same happened with Kapil and Rajiv. Upon settling in Mumbai, the duo pooled their resources and purchased a home. Rajiv recently revealed that, being new to the city and the process, they hadn't even thought about seeking a home loan.

Rajiv Thakur, in a recent episode of DostCast's YouTube channel, shared a hilarious anecdote about his and Kapil Sharma's first home-buying experience in Mumbai. They had saved up a substantial Rs 50 lakh but found that even a 2-BHK in Andheri was out of their reach, costing around Rs 75 lakh.

"We couldn’t afford that so we headed to Malad," Rajiv explained. They found a flat they liked, but the price was still too high. Rajiv, ever the negotiator, convinced the seller to lower the price by promising to buy three flats.

Kapil and I would buy one each and we would find someone to buy the third. He said Rs 54 lakh for the flat, I brought it down to Rs 45 lakh on the promise that we will buy three flats. But when we were returning to Andheri, it took us about one and half hour. By this time, we decided, we are never returning here

By the time they saved up Rs 70 lakh, flat prices in Andheri had risen to Rs 90 lakh. "We were so poor that we didn’t know that one can avail a home loan. It never occurred to us that one can take home loan," Rajiv admitted.

It's clear that even with their success in the comedy world, the duo faced real-life challenges like any other young couple. Their story is a reminder that even in the entertainment industry, financial hurdles are a reality, and that sometimes, the simplest solutions are the ones we overlook.
