Everyone is talking about the return of Smriti Irani as Tulsi in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. The second season has got off to a good start. Actress Kiran Dubey who played Karishma Virani Dey in the first season had a chat with Vicky Lalwani. She said that she had an okay experience working on the first season of the show and did not cherish the experience as much. The reason behind that was the fight they had in the green room. It seems Smriti Irani was getting into politics and they had different ideologies on parties. Kiran Dubey said in the interview, “She told me to leave the room. It was not pleasant to continue working on the show after that. I agree that we had different ideologies but she got pumped up.”
Kiran Dubey said she was surprised to see Smriti Irani make a comeback to TV after seeing so much progress in her political career. She said, “When you are in a position of so much power, you can truly empower people in the grassroot level. If you step out of Mumbai, within a few kms, you see women struggling to find water. When you have a huge platform, you should not use it for a self-centred ego-driven trip.”
The actress said that while everyone associated with Kyunki was somewhat proud of Smriti Irani’s political journey, she believed that kind of clout could have been used in a far better manner – to serve society. “I feel there must be a reason to quit politics for a return to TV. If she decides to continue, it is good for her,” she said.
Kiran Dubey said it is natural that two people might have diverse political opinions but believes that Smriti was pumped up as she had already made up her mind about her alliance. “We should learn to be civil. You need to accept that opinions can be diverse,” she said.

Kiran Dubey said she worked with Ekta Kapoor on other shows after exiting Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. “It was not easy to calm her down. She was India’s biggest producer and I was a young actor. However, in life, I never put money on priority and believed in taking a stand for myself,” asserts Kiran Dubey. She later said that Shobha Kapoor called her up to know her side of the story. As per Dubey, the version conveyed to Ekta Kapoor was not an honest one. Later, Kiran also met Ekta at the Siddhivinayak Temple where they clarified everything. “Though she was the biggest producer, I must say she had immense humility,” said Dubey.
