Filmmaker Rumi Jaffery has confirmed that he is working on a script based on the much-talked-about love story of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput and actress Rhea Chakraborty. The project, still in its early stages, aims to capture the emotional layers and complexities of their relationship, one that was constantly in the spotlight, especially after Sushant's tragic demise in 2020.

Jeffery, who had known both Sushant and Rhea closely, recently opened up about their bond. "Sushant was full of energy. He couldn't sit still even for a minute. Watching him was exhausting but fascinating," the filmmaker recalled. He also shared how Rhea was often seen calming him down, being the grounding force in his life. "His love for Rhea was something else, very intense. And Rhea? She could have given her life for him," Jaffery added.

While the official title and cast of the film haven't been confirmed, one name that's strongly being linked to the role of Sushant is Vedang Raina. The young actor, who stepped into the limelight with Zoya Akhtar's The Archies and later impressed audiences with his strong performance in Jigra opposite Alia Bhatt, seems to be a strong contender. Vedang carries that clean-cut charm and emotional depth needed for such a sensitive role. However, casting him as SSR is still a bold move, one that will come with its own share of pressure and public scrutiny.

Sushant's death on June 14, 2020, shook the nation. His body was discovered at his Bandra home in Mumbai during the COVID-19 lockdown. Though police records labelled it a suicide and ruled out foul play, conspiracy theories and questions around the circumstances of his death still linger in public memory.
