Aishwarya Rai's Cannes 2025 BTS clip echoes love story with Abhishek Bachchan through 'Guru' song

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan recently treated fans to a behind-the-scenes video from her 2025 Cannes appearance, sharing glimpses of her preparation for the red carpet. The video, set to the romantic track Tere Bina from her 2007 film Guru, carried a personal undertone, as it also marked a significant phase in her real-life journey with Abhishek Bachchan.

The clip, posted on social media, shows Aishwarya getting ready in a white saree designed by Manish Malhotra. The elegant drape was styled with a 500-carat ruby necklace, making her look visually striking. The footage captured candid moments with her glam team and Malhotra himself, followed by glimpses of the intricate work behind the saree’s creation. Artisans could be seen hand-weaving the garment inside the designer’s studio, adding a deeper layer of appreciation for the craftsmanship.

By using Tere Bina as the background track, Aishwarya seemed to make a quiet but sentimental nod to her past. The song is from Guru, a film that played a central role in her love story with Abhishek.

According to a previous interview with Midday, Amitabh Bachchan once shared details about the couple’s engagement. Recalling the moment, he said, “Abhishek and Aishwarya are fond of each other. In New York, after the premiere of Guru, Abhishek called me and said that he proposed to her. I said, ‘Come on home.’ I asked Aishwarya if she was happy. She said yes. I picked them up and took her home. I told her, this is your home. Humko kya lena dena hai aur kuch se?”

The couple first worked together in Dhai Akshar Prem Ke (2000) and later in Kuch Naa Kaho (2003). However, their relationship reportedly evolved into romance during the filming of Umrao Jaan in 2005-2006. They eventually tied the knot on April 20, 2007, in a traditional ceremony.
