Another thing struck me...while ZGH is a love story but they never show that a man comes to Kashaf's rescue out of her poverty or situation. That is landing a good husband and marriage and its success is the end all and be all for a woman. When Zaroon comes back to Kashaf's life she is as successful as he is and has solved the problems she had faced herself.

Yeah Gazala and Sara r shown as stereotypical rich ppl. Gazala is a career woman, but she is shown unconcerned abt her family, which need not necessarily be the case. And Sara toh not even a career woman, yet she is shown unreasonable when it comes to Farhan and again unconcerned. But yeah later they show both of them realizing their mistake and it was shown in a convincing manner.

Thats exactly what I was trying to say. Even when Gazala accused her of passing money to her mother then being the sanskari ladki she was she didnt confront him directly but she did cry infront of her mother! Letting out all her remorse. If this instead wud have been shown in Hindi Soaps then the potragonist wud have said, "Woh mujhse badi hain..!!" wid a superficial smile. Another thing which I loved was that though Kashaf was shown as the working woman, she still took care of her home, cooked for Zaroon. Lukd after his necessities, and was even a dutiful wife, daughter in law and mother. But in Hindi Operas, The working woman is mainly shown to be ignorant of all her duties..!! My Mumma also tells me the same things that If a woman is working it doesnt means that she shud be ignorant of all her duties! Kashaf had these qualities imbibed in her which added to the beauty of the series.

Yeah I get it and you r right! Even the worse atyachaar in indian soaps and dey show dem bearing it wid a smile and all, whereas Kashaf's reaction is so balanced and realistic whn she overhears Gazala. She doesn't confront Gazala, but she let's Zaroon know and she totally lets go of her feelings of hurt and humiliation on her mother.

That bold bit is what I really really hate. 🤢I liked how she told Zaroon that she was upset and didnt deserve to be thought of the way Gazala did. After that she basically let Zaroon handle his mom the best way he saw fit. Hindi shows toh such incidents would be dime a dozen without husband knowing of it at all and finally when after 5 years paani sar ke upar jayega then bahu herself would handle her saas. 😆

@Shreya Thats what I hate the most abt Indian Soaps..🤢 Another thing which I liked was though Ghazala and Kashaf were shown to have their diffrences but they were neva shown at loggerheads! Like in our Indian Soaps, Saas-Bahu are shown at tug of war, where Saas yells "Bahu tumhari himmat kaise hui.." then Bahu raises her voice," Bas Maa Jee!" Or When Bahu tries to touch her feet she shoves her feet away. Kashaf-Gazala had diffrences but neva they were shown to be arguing at a loud scale wid OTT BG! Neither Zaroon was shown to be a mute spectator to all the crap. He stood wid Kashaf when he knew his mother was wrong. Gazala didnt lyk Kashaf initially but She didnt plan and plot against her to make her stoop low in front of Zaroon.

This was the best thing I liked. Again in real life u maynot like someone or have misconceptions abt tht person, but u don't end up plotting and creating deliberate mischief in a person's life. And dat's where ZGH scores for me above Humsafar and even Meri Zaat zarra-e-benishaan. Though the latter was very well expalined, guess dat's coz it was Umera Ahmed's writing and she really puts her arguments brilliantly. But in both the shows they show the MIL deliberately creating wedge between the couple. Also once Gazala realizes tht she had wrongly conceived Kashaf, no melodramatic scene of her apologizing or anything, but very subtly acknowledging and appreciating Kashaf. Just makes one happy to see such healthy Saas-Bahu bonding.👏

Also Nigaar have been shown the bitchy type always asking her son to do her dirty work, but her dis nature is shown detrimental to her and her kids! Whereas Indian soaps the vamp is shown living the best life out of all the characters and it just gives a very negative message that by being bad u can get away with anything and live a good life!

I think the best thing about Zaroon's family vis a vis Kashaf was that maybe they didnt know her beforehand like they did Asmara...she came from a very different background too...they cautioned Zaroon against a mismatched marriage but they dont interfere either. Each one is shown busy with their own lives and problems...no one has time to bother the lead couple. On the other hand when they think Zaroon could be at fault they caution him against repeating the mistakes his parents/Sara/he himself made rather than adding fuel to the fire.

I was just now watching the library scene and Zaroon's bet. One thing you have to admit...he did finally win the bet for taking Kashaf out for dinner. Doesnt matter if it took him 4-5 years and marriage vows to do that. 🤣

I so agree wid you Di..😊 TBH, Humsafar was hyped but it didnt have that magic for me. Even in Humsafar, Farida's plotting against Khirad was baseless for me. Nobody in real lyf plots against the pregnant daughter-in-law and throws her out of the house. Whereas in Meri Zaat Zarra-e-Benishaan and even in Durr-e-shahwar, The MIL'S were shown to be clever, chalu women but Umera Ahmed had put forth the arguments strongly! But the reason in Humsafar wasnt that strong. Also in later prarts when Gazala realises her mistake she very subtly acknowledges Kashaf's qualities in front of Junaid and praises her.. Also when she realises that she needs to do her bit too for a happy household, she even admits this fact to her husband by telling him that they both need sum tym for themselves too. This was shown very beautifully and subtly. Regarding Nigaar, Karma is a bitch! The Rafia and her daughters she hated, she herself had to go to her for Hammad and for her daughters matrimonial alliance. So evry1 had a Sabak in end!
