I said that because in their first magazine scene, Ashar just switches off the light and goes to sleep with Khirad still awake. And hence, in this scene, with a better understanding between them, him asking her before turning off lights indicated him wanting their relation to progress a step further.
Khidmat may not always mean sex, of course. But in that scene's context, what other service may the man want one in the night. 😆And milna too, in the context suggested he wanted her to come close to him, and not necessarily have sex.

Is there a English translation pdf version of the novel..? I would love to read that..cant read Urdu ...
One thing I love about the Zindagi shows is that there is no obvious show of physical relationship between the couples
Full family can watch the shows Together
Re the lights scene, yes it was supposed to indicate that their relationship is progressing in the right direction. But that was about an emotional connection and beginning of love.Disagree about khidmat & milna meaning sex in that context. Its hard to explain as you have to be a native Urdu speaker to understand. The first didn't mean "service" - it was just a linguistically fancy way of saying "I can't stay up to chat" - given that they're husband and wife it may or may not have led to physical intimacy that night but the line didn't mean that. And milna is just hanging out together - nothing more & nothing less. 😆

OMG thank you so much for the link. 😃😃
I have really wanted to read the book! I have heard it is beautiful and reading it could give me just so much more insight on the story.Though I would not understand the Urdu much😆😆
You're welcome.I have to say though, the book is quite different from the serial. Everyone has their preferences, I like the serial more than the book.Feel free to ask what the words mean if you get stuck, I'll help as much as I can 😊
