Chapter 4
Dev didn't see him coming towards Radhika and hug her because he was too fast. He pulled him away from her and brought her behind him.
"Stay away from her." He said in a menacing tone.
"Who can stay away from that angel? She's worth dying." He replied with a grin.
Dev rolled his eyes, he isn't scared of him, he doesn't care about his health.
"You don't worry, human, I will heal you." Radhika said with a smile. Dev gave her a stern look while she frowned at him.
"Your one look is enough to heal me, babe." He replied in a flirty tone.
"We are leaving." Dev announced.
Radhika asked "What? We can talk to him." She shifted her attention on the owner and asked "Will you let us stay here?"
"Radhika! We can---"
"You can stay here forever, sweetheart." He said as he wrapped his arm against her shoulder then softly added "close beside me."
Radhika smiled while Dev fumed with rage. He will stay anywhere but not here, with this pervert goofing around with Radhika, he won't tolerate that. He yanked her from his arm and snapped at him.
"I said don't touch her!"
"Radhika, we won't be staying here."
"But he agreed."
He turned towards her and said "I don't care. We won't be staying here and that's final."
"Are you his partner, sweetbabe?" He asked from her.
She shaked her head in disapproval while Dev replied yes.
He raised his brow and said "So you wanted her only for yourself. That's why you brought her in this secluded area. Am I right?"
Dev smirked and replied "Wrong. She brought me here."
"She?" He asked shockingly.
"Yes. I saw this house empty so I brought him here." Radhika answered.
"We have wasted enough time in here. Let's go." Dev said and held her hand to leave.
"Who says you'll be leaving, didn't I said you can stay here?"
"We are leaving."
"If you won't stay here then I'll send you to jail for trespassing."
Dev gave a slow smile and challenged "try it."
"So we will stay in jail? I thought we have to look for another house. Thank you, human." Radhika replied with a wide grin.
Dev rolled his eyes while the man gave her an odd look as if she was an alien.
"We won't. It's a place of bad people." He said to her.
"But we are not bad people, human." She said innocently.
"Is she too innocent or she's playing with me?" He asked from Dev.
He grinned and answered "Too innocent."
He was still staring at Radhika with complete confusion in his face as if she was a puzzle.
He shrugged and said "You are going to stay here at least she will stay here, you won't find any other house in this place."
"We aren't staying." Dev said and tried to leave but he couldn't move even a muscle.
"We are staying, Dev." She announced.
"Damn to hell your powers!!" He shouted angrily.
"What powers?" The man asked.
Dev shut his mouth angrily, he won't reveal her real identity to anyone, it is too dangerous for her.
"The same power every girl has over man." He grumbled.
"Oh! So are you staying or she alone?"
"As if I'll leave her alone with a pervert roaming around. I will stay here and you dear boy stay away from her."
He blushed hearing him calling pervert then grinned and replied "As if I'll stay away from her and don't say you never think like that about her."
This time Dev blushed furiously, his cheeks turned crimson red.
"What's pervert?" Radhika asked.
"Nothing!" Both Dev and the man said.
"I'm Purab and you are?"
"Dev and she's Radhika. By the way, why do you live here in the forest?"
He gave a slow smile and replied "For some personal reasons."
Dev didn't miss the sadness reflected on his face for a mere second.
"Well, why do you come here in the forest? Are you lost?"
"For some reasons as well."
"You might be hungry, I'll cook something and dude you have only few grocery now."
"But the grocery would've lasted for at least a month!"
"You won't guess there's someone here with a bottomless pit as a stomach." Dev said as he eyed at Radhika.
Purab looked at her from top to bottom, she is curvaceous and replied "Her body doesn't show."
"That's a mystery. Well, you sit and I'll cook something. Let's go Radhika."
"Why? She'll give me company."
"Like hell."
"Sweetheart, what do you want go with him or watch tv with me?"
"Tv? You mean that." Radhika asked as she pointed her finger at television.
"And what will you show her? The things you watch? I'll be damned if I find any other cd except that stuff."
Purab blushed into beetroot and coughed for good ten seconds.
"Well..you see..did she?..I meant---"
"Of course she doesn't know like I'll show her that stuff!"
He sighed in relief and replied "There are many other cds, you didn't check properly."
"So are we going to watch?" Radhika asked.
"We aren't you are coming---"
"I don't understand why you keep on ordering her. If she want to watch let her be."
Dev felt bad at his behavior, he is being selfish, she did ask him countless times that she want to watch but with no other cd, he was unable to fulfil her wish.
"She is my responsibility, you get it, absolutely no touching." Dev said and left to kitchen.

When Dev returned back with food in his hand, he didn't like what he saw. Purab was inclined back on the sofa, his arm resting on the arm rest and the other on her shoulder as she was leaning against his upper body, they looked like a couple, like hell they are!. She was too awestruck by the television to notice the lovers position and his slow caress on her arm and a soft gaze on her instead of on the screen.
He marched angrily and stomped the food on the table with a deadly glare at him. Both startled at his sudden appearance, Purab instantly removed his arm from her shoulder.
"Radhika, why don't you help me set up for dinner." Dev gritted out with a forced smile.
She bobbed her head and left them alone to the kitchen. No sooner than she entered, Dev brushed his hard knuckles against his cheek, bruising it with sudden force.
"Bloody hell!" He cursed and attempted for retribution but failed as another strike landed on his lips, cutting them against his teeth, blood oozing from it.
"This is a warning." Dev said in a low menacing tone.
"Let her decide who she wants, you have no right to stop me because you ain't her lover nor her husband, ain't her father nor brother. You are just her captive." He replied in a angry tone as he wiped the oozing blood by his thumb.
"So you know what she is?"
Purab gave him a confused look and replied "What she is? She told me only you are her captive and she is your protector."
"Yes. That is true. She is my protector."
"Though I don't understand how can that fragile girl protect you."
Dev smirked and replied "Don't underestimate her, her ability surpass even a brute and brawny human."
"Really? I'm impressed---"
"What happened to you?" Radhika asked concernedly as she looked at Purab, she had her hands full with utensils.
"See baby, what your captive did? He hurted me." Purab said innocently.
"Why would you hurt him?" Radhika asked from Dev.
"Because I felt like." He grumbled.
"Hurting is not good, Dev." She said.
She put the utensils on the table and stretched out her hand to touch his cut lip so she can heal his wound.
"Radhika! We have to give first aid, you do have a first aid box?" Dev asked from Purab.
Radhika almost forgot she can't use her powers unless she trust the person enough before revealing her true identity, so she snatched back her hand.
"Yes." Purab said and marched to the room then came back with a first-aid box.
"Here baby, you can apply it on me." Purab said with a wide smile.
Radhika looked at the box then looked up at him as she replied "I don't know how to use them, human."
"Why do you call me human?"
"Because you call me in many names but not in my name, I thought you will like being called in any other name."
Dev chuckled at her innocence, she doesn't even know that what he call her are all endearments and are not names at all. Purab gave her a baffled look, there is something wrong with her or she's playing with him.
"What a odd name to choose." He said but then added mischieviously "Call me love, I will like it."
She surprised him when she replied "Ok, love."
"Don't you call him love!" Dev said.
"Why? Is that bad?" She asked.
"To him yes. You said you were hungry, let's eat."
Her smile widened and replied "Yes, let's eat. You heal him."
She started attacking the food while Dev took the first-aid box from Purab and grudgingly applied medicine on him.
