Ali Asgar's magic words

"I never thought I could crack such one liners on the show but at the moment I would say they have become the talk of the show. I don't really know how it turns out to be so funny. Nevertheless it's my pleasure to be like that. But the fact is most of the time I keep quiet on the show. And that way I save my energy so that I can deliver a punch to the opponent team when my team requires it. And on top of that I am the captain of boys' team so I have to also be responsible towards my team."

When asked about the finale, Ali says, "We boys are practicing very hard for the finale but you never know the result. You know it's like any other game... players try hard but they are not aware of the ultimate decision."

But one of the things that is worrying Asgar, is the fact that one of his man contenders Chaitanya is unwell and out of the running. "I know he is one of the best dancers we had but unfortunately he won't be performing in finale. He is hospitalized so we have only seven of us to perform. And of course, we are a bit hampered in his absence. And Bakhtiyar is also not well so the pressure is on us but our never giving up spirit will lead us to win," Ali syas with complete optimism.

Shraddha and Karan fume at split rumors
If a popular news channel is to be believed, Karan Singh Grover and his sweetheart Shraddha have parted ways. Now, it could have been just another relationship biting the dust but there's more.

This pretty couple was a strong contender to take part in Star's popular reality showcase Nach Baliye Season 4, which airs from October 10. We called up with a harried Shraddha to find out the truth. She fumes, "Leave us alone! This is not what one expects from a national news channel. Karan, in fact, is in talks with his lawyer to sue the channel."

Agitated and angry, she questions, "Do the channels realize that they are playing with people's lives? Yes, there is an iota of speculation that Karan and I wouldn't be part of the popular showcase, but it is not because we have decided to part ways. How can a news channel flash images of this magnitude and destroy people's lives? Our family is shocked! Our phones haven't stopped ringing…Speculation is healthy, if there is some of truth in it."

So, why is it that their participation in the show is on shaky ground? She explains, "We want to take part, but the speculations have risen because of our other prior commitments and not because of a reason that a news channel is flashing!"

The actress went to great lengths to explain how all is still well with her and Karan, "Yes, we fight like any other ordinary couple! We fight over what food to eat – Karan is into protein shakes and I keep nagging him to eat healthy fresh food. We are just like any other couple, and we are unlike those who need the constant glare of the media."

What's more, far from the rumors of a split, the couple is thinking of walking down the aisle in the near future. We hope the rumour mongers are reading this!

Who is Jas Karan?
We have heard of entire families being part of Bollywood. And this trend has caught up on the small screen as well. Brothers, sisters, cousins, parent and child can all be found displaying their talent on the small screen. The latest to join the family is Jas Karan. He is hottie Karan Singh Grover's cousin and plays a prominent role in Miley Jab Hum Tum.

Jas Karan always wanted to be an actor. He quips, "Though I wanted to act, I was working with a telecom company as an operation analyst to secure a back- up career. One day, I felt that I should go ahead and chase my dream. So I resigned from my job and started giving auditions. My first show was Naaginn and then I did Meri Doli.... I was unhappy with my roles in both the shows. I took them up as I was told that these are good roles but they did not turn out to be so. In fact, I never wanted to act in saas bahu sagas where male actors are nothing more than a prop. After these shows, I was offered some more family dramas but I kept refusing them. Later, Miley Jab Hum Tum happened and I couldn't have asked for a better show."


Talking about his brother Karan Singh Grover, he says, "We share a great bond. We used to live in the same apartment. But later, Karan ditched me for Shraddha (actress Shraddha Nigam, girlfriend of Karan Singh Grover)! Well, I am just kidding. I also wanted to have a separate house of mine, so I moved out and Shraddha moved in. After watching his show Dill Mill Gayye, I realised that youth oriented shows too have a scope on Indian television. We are close to each other."

Jas is all praise for brother Karan. He says, "Karan is very encouraging. When I was not getting the desired roles he kept encouraging me. He had come to the launch party of my show to encourage me. I had gone to the sets of Zara Nachke… to promote Miley Jab. It felt nice to share screen with him at the promotion of Miley Jab… in Zara…"

Bhakhtyar Irani cries foul
It's been over a week since the Star One dance reality show, 'Zaara Nachke Dikha', came to its end. But the anger that Bhakhtyar Irani, the leader of 'Tez Talwars', feels over his team's loss has not ebbed with the passing days. The dance reality show was a 'battle of the sexes' and the 'Meethi Chhooris' waltzed away with the crown.

But, we weren't surprised when we saw the boys huffing and puffing over their loss and crying unfair over the whole affair. The best dancer and their team captain, Bhakhtyar was visibly upset and did not mince words when we caught up with him for a tete-a-tete.

There have been allegations that you are not a team player…

It's baseless. How can I not be a team player and yet lead the boys' team near to victory. We reached this stage because we worked as a team. I am a team player and I would challenge anybody to deny that on my face.

So why are you crying foul?

Because the word around the town was that I was better than the best. The girls said I was good, the viewers said I was good…but the judges felt otherwise. How can three people think differently from so many who believe in my skills? I can write it in blood that my solo act was better than Karishma Tanna's, and she maintains the same. Yet, I lost…my team lost because the judges felt otherwise.

Your friction with Saroj Khan is legendary…

When the show was having a format of two judges, how come a third judge cropped up at the last minute? I can't figure out why they had to get a third judge who had a personal vendetta against me. 'Nach Baliye 3' had left a bitter taste in me. Both Tanaz and I were to walk away with the crown, if it wasn't for one particular judge who felt otherwise.

Wasn't it a matter of luck that 'Tez Talwars' lost to 'Meethi Chhooris'?

I read reports, which said Sarojji was so sure that the boys would win, but the girls turned tables. I do agree that our team miscalculated, but then I strongly feel that we deserved to win. I agree that the girls were brilliant dancers and on that particular day, the tables turned, but I don't believe they turned drastically enough to alter the last result. I don't have any hard feelings for the girls. They played with their brains and we played with our hearts. But luck has nothing to do with it. I believe that the judges should have been a little more considerate and not taken sides.

So, the judges are to blame?

What is the point of crying over spilt milk? It's over and done with. The girls have walked away with the crown. But, in our heart, we know that we deserved to win. And I stand by what I feel. I may be arrogant, but that is only because I know that I have performed like none before and we truly gave it our optimum. But our mighty judges felt otherwise. But, yes, I will cry it is an unfair decision.

Saroj Khan has been quite miffed by your attitude.

We have a history together. Yes, we work in an industry and I respect her status in the business. But she crossed the line when she got personal in her comments about my arrogance and my attitude. If she is going to let personal decisions mar her judgment, I rest my case of putting her on the jury's chair.

I still believe the 'Tez Talwars' deserved the crown. Because when we performed, it came straight from our hearts. Beyond a point, it wasn't just another game show. Call it regressive, but we were there to prove a point.

Karan Singh Grover was shooting non-stop for Dill Mill Gayye and Zara Nachke Dikha. Now that the dance reality show Zara Nachke? has ended, he decided to take some time off from work and celebrate Shraddha?s birthday on the silver sands of Goa. Beau Karan ensured that her birthday would be her best till date. Shraddha couldn?t have asked for more.
