I am bringing Gen 3 up here because Manjari made Abhimanyu’s half brother believe he was adopted while he was her husband’s child with another woman right …was her husband aware of this truth ..I think Abhimanyu wasn’t ?

As stupid as she was hiding the truth, she was at least a good mother to Neil who genuinely loved him as much as she loved Abhimanyu and never treated him like an outsider. She was most likely frightened due to the abusive nature of her husband hence she concealed this truth for so many years.

Vidya on the other hand has no excuse whatsoever. She could’ve easily told Madhav the truth and given Armaan his mother rather than letting him suffer for so many years. If not then she could’ve at least loved the boy as her own and supported him rather than cursing him and whatnot. No sympathies for this which whatsoever. She easily makes Manjari seem like a saint anyday. I can’t believe this is the same show where we had pure hearted step mother’s like Devyani, Varsha, Manjari..

The rest of the family had no idea that he was the illegitimate son of Harshvardhan (including Harsh himself) They all assumed that he was a regular orphan who Manjari adopted from the orphanage. The truth came out one day as Aarohi leaked the reports of Neil being the son of Harsh.

Vidya is beyond compare …Manjari was a victim in her own right ..while Vidya might have initially been a victim but she turned a co-conspirator in her own right just to further her own self interests …Manjari’s status in the family would have remained irrespective of Neil, since she was Harsh’s legally wedded wife while the other was an extramarital affair..so there is also that !

But Harsh use to abuse Neil as according to him he was an adopted child. If Harsh knew Neil wasn't adopted but his own biological son, he wouldn't have abused him for years. Harsh's behavior towards Neil entirely changed when he got to know about Neil being his biological child. Manjiri was scared of Harsh's abusive behavior but Harsh never abused Abhimanyu, his biological child. So Manjiri deliberately let child Neil get abused by his own biological father. Only Abhimanyu could stop Harsh to protect Neil.

I think Manjari can definitely be given the benefit of the doubt over Vidya ..firstly, as Harsh’s only wife, her position in the family would never have been impacted by revealing Neil’s true identity …secondly she would have been hailed as a martyr for accepting her husband’s illegitimate child as opposed to adopting an orphan ..Vidya used her mahanta card to cement her position in the family ..something Manjari had no need of

Maybe it was not fair to Neil to grow up feeling obligated to his adoptive family ..but Manjari was not motivated by self-interest when making the choice to not reveal the truth ..she did what she thought was right for the child even

Conclusion being that no one in the history of Rishta has been as vile and selfish as the Kaveri-Vidya duo
