Though I am not at all a fan of Abhim’s character, I don’t personally think he is at Harsh’s level. Abhim is toxic, controlling, 0 accountability, mumma’s boy kind of person, but comparing him with Harsh is a bit too much to say, considering how much of an abuser Harsh was to both Manjari and Neil. Abhim’s actions did lead to mental abuse for Ak, but it can always be argued that he was not himself and was lost in grief. Definitely does not justify his actions, but does give a reason to the same. What I dislike about Abhim is his attitude later on, he let the others in his family believe that Ak left him instead of telling them the truth of how he mistreated her and divorced. It all came to light when Ak-Manjari confrontation happened (the thali bajao confrontation), but until then Abhim let them believe it was Ak. I do understand that white day he impulsively acted and made bad decisions but what I hate is he never thought about her post that, even once, on how she must be all alone, if she would be okay or not, etc, for 6 months he did not care, to where was the marne mitne wala love then that he claimed to have for Ak. My problem with Abhim is him repeating the same mistakes and not learning from them, be it his lack of trust, his impulsive nature, his anger and his cowardice in calling out his mother’s wrong actions. His love for Ak too was not for Ak, but for someone whom he thought to be his mom’s replica, and when he saw that there is difference he became controlling and started forcing his decisions on the supposed love. All of this is true, but that does not mean I can be compare with Harsh who was a legit abuser. Harsh never loved Manjari. Though Abhim’s anger and arrogance are similar to Harsh, he is still not like Harsh.
