Yeah this is a fair point - acting is his bread and butter, we all need to do our jobs to draw a paycheck even if sometimes the specifics are not exactly what we are hoping for. Everyone has bills to pay...

I absolutely agree with u. It's very easy for us as fand to say, oh he/she made a huge mistake by doing this crappy show and crappy role but the TV industry is damn competitive and there are hundreds of talented actors and actresses sitting at home doing nothing because they're not getting any work. In thus post covid era, getting a job in itv has become even more tougher and everyone needs a stable job. Another reason Harshad must have taken up this show is because he doesn't have to worry about trps and fear about his shows getting abrupt ending again. This show will at least run for maximum another year or two years if not more than that and that would be extremely satisfying for Harshad because post kis des...none of his shows ran its course. As fans/viewers we have the option of watching or not watching his shows but actors need a job to earn their livelihood.

Is the rise in trp honestly due to the story, the rest of the cast, and viewers’ acceptance of his character per se, or due to Harshad‘s immense popularity that stemmed from a previous show and continued into this one (also due to which, he was approached for this show in the first place.)? I call it ‘collateral effect’.

Again, Harshad has been popular since 2007, and his popularity does not stem from the previous show. If the previous show was so popular, why didn't it get trps then? It's simple. The numbers give the ground level popularity. Twitter and insta posts by new fans do not amount to real popularity in my opinion. Harshad’s kis desh and Tere liye are evergreen and are classic ITVs shows even today, not because of the social media popularity like Bepannaah but because they were genuinely watched by every household.

Harshad WAS NOT APPROACHED FOR YRKKH in thr first place DUE TO HIS POPULARITY IN BEPANNAAH. Rajan Shahi had approached him long back in 2008 for Bidaai but he was doing Kis desh then. He's been around in the industry so long that people know him very well even before Bepannaah. It's silly to credit that show for his popularity.

Again, it's each person's opinion theat their favourite show is the only one that deserves popularity or trps. That's not true in reality. Each one has their favorites and at the end of the day, all shows on ITV are equally bad, so there's no scope for making one show "superior" than the other qualitatively. Fans can of course praise their favourite shows as the best.

The only comparison here is in numbers and that's how success is measured. Trps means more people are watching - as straightforward as that. And this brings in the essential advertising revenue, without which shows can't run. And international viewership of shows is counted for trps on the network's International channel, but that's not enough to generate revenues to shoot and run shows in India.

@_charu_ No doubt, YRKKH is a chart topper and Harshad is making top dollar on it. But let me ask you this. In your heart of hearts, do you truly believe this show is producing good quality content? Do you truly believe this show rightfully deserves the popularity and recognition it’s getting over shows like Bepannaah or Ek Hasina Thi? This is precisely also why Harshad is a bad fit with this show. Harshad believes in good quality content over money and popularity. Also, I believe that when the makers approached him for this show, they sold it to him very differently than what it is right now.

I don't know what they sold him but as a seasoned actor who has been around since 2008 and who had worked in the industry with all production houses (including balaji) , he must be having a fair idea about how the itv works.

They may start off with something but they change tracks midway due to low trps , channel pressure or whatever . Actors are under contract of 1 yr or 2 yrs so they have no say in it. Currently in all sp shows , the ml is ridiculous..gashmeer quit imlie , virat is heavily bashed in ghum, Mr kapadia is somewhat praised..Shiva pandya and Co. R a bunch of clowns , rudraksh keeps getting fooled, Sathiya is not even considered ..all the shows r women oriented and MLS r like props jinki vas dhulai hoti hai.

I believe in this particular show , harshad has got popularity which is unparalleled , he is getting money that he never earned before , he has a lead role..same with pranali..its like a lottery for her. We may criticize the characters but if actors r looking looking meatier roles they must shift to web ..there also, success is not as big as itv .

I'll give you an example..I loved parth in kyy..next he signed up kzk2 which was a disaster..his role was crap , yet he did it for 2 yrs n the show was scrapped thankfully..but I wanna forget the kzk2 episode, apne hi fav actor ko itna Galliyan di😆, so I know how you must be feeling as I went through the same ...but I guess for the actors, This is least important..sad but true..

These bepannaah fans cum shippers have another level of superiority complex with regards to their show yaar. They think just because it didn't garner trps its great or iconic and Harshad became a star only because of that show. 😆 The fact is that show was popular only on sm and only first 5 episodes were good. After that it became typical itv show. I am sure HC will gain much more popularity from yrkkh than he ever got from bp.

Exactly! And all his contemporaries that people have named here as doing OTT shows, they all have done the same ghisa pita, cringe and useless shows and gained popularity only through those. You name it, we have the example. Sharad, Nakul, and Shaheer too defended the production house and praised them for the crappy content they showed in Kuch Rang season 3.

Nobody is superior or inferior here. Harshad has been around for so long. He knows what is best for him and it's obvious that he's enjoying working with this team, and happy with the way they use all his martial arts skills.
