The man who learnt to stand for his loved ones like no other.
Orphaned at a young age, raised by her grandparents with brother and cousin years older than her. And a slightly younger half-sister who blames her for her step-mom's death. Bad parenting & having no-one entirely on her side to confide in, made music her coping mechanism. Hiding her feelings and going with flow is her default way of handling things. It always worked for her. Any conflict would make her beloved sister spout venom that she cannot bear. The one person she craves love from and desires to reconcile. Giving up her stuff, squashing her desires, her wants though painful isn't as much as Arohi's hatred. Thats how her life has been.
He on the otherhand has scars from his parents toxic relationship. His father who always hurt his mother emotionally and mentally, disrespects her and his brother. His mother's soft nature made him protective of her. Though she couldn't stand up to her husband, she taught her son to be a respectful gentleman. Her goodness makes him adore her. Growing up with a music lover like her, music also became his coping mechanism. She is the only solace in his broken world.
That is until our two soulmates meet. Two broken souls meant to be together and to heal each other.
Singing/music is her away of letting out her emotions while listening to them is his away of finding peace. The moment he heard her sing is the moment their story began. Her voice sooth his soul like no other. There was something that pulled him towards her. He wanted to run away from the feeling only to encounter it again in the least exepcted place. And when he met her, he could tell its some soul level shit. They could both feel a level of connection thats not normal. Each encounter on that trip only made them fall for each other's traits more and more. He was fast to label it but she was still figuring out. He knew what he wanted from this bond, a lifetime commitment and she would have agreed even with her unlabeled feelings. They could have had a happy love-cum-arrange marriage and lived happily ever after but here we have an ungratefull half-sister, a product of bad parenting and blind obsesstion to be the best and want the best.
The confusion that led to Tilak 1.0 and the drama left Akshara no choice but to stay silent. He decalred his love for her infront of everyone. Pleaded her to acknowledge her feelings. But she couldn't choose him that day over her sister, however she might be, and her family's respect. She might love him but they dont have a relationship strong enough to go against the people her whole life revolves around.
He was heartbroken but still choose to give her the benefit of doubt. She tried to explain and confess after but their families are at loggerheads especially when the question of her being his bride comes up and her sister instilled insecurity of not being his match and the fear of losing her if she did accept his proposal. Again, she chose her sister and her family's peace over her newfound feelings and seemingly a person who claims to her so much. It's ok. It hurts like hell but Its just gonna be another one of the things she would give up for her sis and fam. It would hurt for a while but then it would stop right?
Heartbroken again but Abhimanyu respected her 'no' even though he beleives she loves him. Again and again, situations made them come face to face. Her actions were unreasonable for someone who claimed to not love him. Her eyes were misty and full of love that screamed that her words were a lie. But what can he do when she denies all that they shared, the unspoken words that they could hear, the connection they feel, the obvious advances both accepted and reciprocated? When his questions are met with harsh rejections?
On one hand it was breaking him apart on the other hand all these meetings with him made her want his love more n more. The loyalty he showed against Ruby's advances, the way he adores the ones he loves, the way he always worries over her clumsiness, scolds her lovingly, protects her, fights for her, stands for her even when they might not be on the same page.... the way she has his attention and love. No one loved her, Akshara, the way Abhimanyu does.
Meanwhile, her sister took advantage of the situations and played her cards. Emotionally blackmailed by his father with the possibility of losing his mother, Abhimanyu ends up agreeing for Arohi's alliance. Even after that he made multiple attempts to make Akshara speak out.
He thinks if she only speaks the truth, acknowledge that she loves him too, things can be fixed. Taunts her that look I'm getting married, I won't be yours anymore, do you not realise the situation we are in?.... No she doesn't. She thinks she could handle the pain. She thinks, Arohi loves him and would keep him happy. She thinks she isn't the right girl for him or his family. She thinks things will be ok after some time. Thats what happens right? In this age people fall in love and after a point fall out of it. Relations make and break all the time. Her father moved on from her mother and married Arohi's mom. Her grandfather AKA bade papa married again too. Her great grandfather also married again after his wife(Gayathri) died. When Arohi is perfect choice for him as per everyone then it would work out right?
The gravity of their situation and repurcussions of Abhimanyu becoming someone else's only sinked in when he finally snapped. When she lost the attention she got used to, the loving arms that hold her when she trips, the adoring eyes when she sings, the protective and possesiveness he has for her, the rights he always let her have if she chose to......thats when it her. She wants all of it. For the first time in her life there is another person, another love that she wants, desires and craves for than Arohi's.
Then the accident that changed things. Made Abhimanyu feel guity of hurting her, valuing her life more than anything he chose to take a step back. Akshara though knowing the extent of his love started realising she wants that and this is not the love that they can move on from. Arohi's true color's and intentions out infront of her, she is stuck again with her old habits, her values, the result of her bad decisions, the posibility of losing either one of the two people she loves so much.
"Hum mile nahi, hume milwaya gaya hain" is so true for them because if Abhi had not seen the pic, both these idiots would have let the marriage happen, which would eventually end in a divorce while Akshara would have left the city again. And had he found at a different time, Abhi would have not been able to get an answer out of her like the many times he tried. It was only because she experienced all these things, she got accustomed and then lost his love, saw the true intentions of her sister with the right prompting from Abhi at a time where she wont be influenced by her sister's manipulations again was she able to confess.
Akshara still has a long way to go to fully put Abhimanyu over Arohi. On Tilak 1.0 she was silent for Arohi but today in a very similar situation after all that she experienced with him and realising how unfair, wrong and useless was her sacrifice, she will choose him over everyone else. If it was just Abhimanyu v/s Arohi, she would have swayed towards Arohi again.
Like before Abhimanyu will always fight for their love. He will fight for their relationship and her happiness. He has the same unconditional love and loyalty for Askhara that she has for Arohi. Like he would give his life away for Akshara, she would for Arohi. Like he protects her and stands against anyone for her even if she is wrong, Akshara does the same for Arohi. Difference is Akshara is sane enough to understand and is on the way to give back that love to Abhi while Arohi is blind in her anger, insecurity and obsession.
There would be a day when Akshara and Arohi will have a healthy realationship. Abhimanyu will sort it out slowly while Akshara will unite him with his family. Especially with his Sir. They will heal each other and help each others relationships with others. Balancing each other out like the soulmates they are.
The writer said that Abhi and Akshu had to earn their union. And they did. He fought her for them and she will stand by him this time. Happy times ahead of them, hoping it would last for a while before another storm hits them.
Unlike other love stories their's is not straightforward. Their love story is "Ulti Pulti", but thats what sets them apart. If it wasnt for the conflict that Arohi brought, they would been happily married. Like when they were drunk, leave them on their own and see how they fit so easily.
