This show is from such an antifeministic point of view...
First of all, why does a grl get a binder of pics in it and is asked to choose one?? One one hand they talk about long terms relationships and all and on the other hand they expect her to choose someone she has never even met so that she can spend her entire lifetime with her? and she is taught from the beginning to follow what ever her parents say or want --right or wrong-- without her own input in it
And is he rejects her than her families reputation is done?? what kind of b*** is this?? Also, so what if she wants to be a singer? Her parents are mad because she might want to persue her career and her brother who is equally weird is phycologically belittling his wife and sister as women... I dont understand why every thing has to be you are a girl do this.. you are a guy do this.. it shouldnt always be about girls and guys.. some times we are all humans!!
is it just me or any one else sees whats wrong with the plot??

ya i didn't like the way they keep saying that girls have limits n think lots before talking..they're born to be housewives n can't think of a career..they're making a big deal coz one rishta broke..
but in rural areas such mentality prevails n thats what they're trying to portray..hopefully once Naitik enters she'll get his support

Yea.. I mean a father should be proud not ashamed that his daughter wants to do some thing more than take care of the family and cook...
and the family showed is not even rural.. they are like good educated family ... I dont understand how they can be soo happy to have a daughter and keep her and their mentality towards her soo much in a box!

ur right..therez no much of a difference in the characters of this serial and Balika Vadhu's "maasa" we must not say this cud be the mentality of ppl. in villages...villages are fast developing and ppl. there r as much open ..i've seen in punjab, max. farmer's children are studying abroad, they r as advanced as we r....can't say abt very remote n backward areas though...

this whole rishta thing sucks. Froget the way they are seeing boys.....i do not understand why a 19 year old girl (i assume she is 19) who is still studying is being married off.
Isn't educating a girl of any importance to them?. And her mother saying if the boys side want her to study only then she will study ahead. Come on........how can a girl study ahead after marriage .... when she is supposed to assume responsibilities and supposed to give birth year after year. Cant the girl's father bear her responsibilty for 2 or 3 years more until she finishes her study.
I understand that this happens in villages ....but why glorify it. Now the illiterate father in the village will see the serials and say see even they are doing it.

You're so right, they are glorifying it in a way by showing us how Akshara is being crushed under their pressure and she's okay with it? I don't see a valuable message being sent to the viewers from the show at all.

the king disagrees wid u. the arranged marriage concept is prevalent all over India even today (even the king is getting married shortly. mind u he met the gal on the day he went 2 c her. tht does not make the king old-fashioned). so its absolutely fine if she has 2 choose a guy from a album. both the guy n gal allowed 2 talk 2 each other. its not like they blindly marry.

secondly, yeah it was wrong 2 reject a gal bcoz she wanted 2 become a singer. but it was more absurd of akshara 2 reject a guy bcoz he had a mustache. where did all the anti-feminism go whn she did tht. if a guy wants a housewife its his personal choice.

as 4 the limitations yeah ours has been n is a male-dominated society. there are certain guidelines set 4 boys galz. its more in smaller towns than cities. vish was against shava love marriage until akshara convinced him.

the only thing the kig agrees wid u is badi opposing akshara's singing which was senseless. if ali's family di want a career gal as their DIL it was thei choice. there was no need 4 badi 2 create all tht drama.
