Glad you liked it.

Will post more every weekend.

I just translated the story from French to English.

This was in the French magazine Elle mainly for women readers and it was called The Test of the Infidel Wife

The woman herself is responsible. Had she not spent the night with the guy none of these would have happened.

Thanks for this post Padma :)
All Sunday's would be super-fun if we get to play such games which are not only fun-filled but also offer scope for some good brain-work :)

Okay, coming to the question.

For me, its the woman herself who is at fault. Communication is the key in any relationship. If there were issues which she had, she should have voiced them out to her husband. Perhaps he still wouldn't have changed but infidelity cannot be used as an escapade to such a situation.

The platonic lover was definitely not at fault. The village Romeo is ofcourse an incredibly selfish fellow but truth be told, it was the woman's decision to go along with him. He didn't keep her at gun-point and force her to come along with him.

The boatman was again not really at fault. One might say that he perhaps should have been more sympathetic but then again, he too is someone who works hard to earn a living. Why should he take the woman along when she didn't have money? That would have resulted in him losing out on potentially better customers. Having said that, this guy too did show a streak of selfishness when he demanded extra money from the woman.

Coming to the madman. Well, he was firing recklessly but that is why he was called a madman, isn't it? He was mad but the woman was in her senses. It was suicidal to cross the bridge and suicide is nothing but inviting death for yourself. So yeah, all in all, it was the woman herself who was responsible for her death.

What if the guy had been on the same side of the river Tanu?😆

She would have still slept with him but not died isn't it?

But she knew exactly where the guy was. Or did I miss something?

Very interesting one. Do this every couple of days or something no? I found it amazing.
I shouldn't have read a couple of answers, they kinda biased my opinion. However, I think it's the woman herself and the Government of the village that's responsible. I mean, who allows a mad man to kill people randomly? Why couldn't they catch him first? 🤣

So happy you liked it Najma. I can definitely suggest such activities quite often.

Yes the sad thing is all the answers are out there in the open and can influence us.

the only wat is to answer first and then only check other answers.😆

What is your opinion and what was the majority answer of your group?

I would say the woman was the most responsible because she knew the madman was there.

If she felt justified enough to have the affair then that justification should have allowed her to face the consequences of being found out. I mean in this story everyone is wrong in their own way. But the girl willingly chose to risk death over her husband knowing the truth. The question is what kind of circumstance was she in that she was so afraid of the consequences?
