@Jalpari,

Beauty analysis of the episode. I too feel the confession from Mukhi's side should not be rushed. You got the nail. They have many complexes to take care of and a lot of communicating to do before they finally unite. Be it the difference in their backgrounds, personalities or even shoes for that matter. And don't forget now even the family is getting involved in the Saanvi matter. We may write volumes about how the friendship between a guy and a girl or in this case a matured man and a woman should not always be misunderstood. But the fact of the matter is that when a person is married, his/her platonic relationship with the person of the opposite gender is mostly beyond comprehension for most people. I honestly don't blame the family for thinking like that about Saanvi Mukhi relationship. If they don't know the depth of Theo pure friendship it's difficult for them to accept that their son in law can be close to anyone else other than their daughter. Hopefully they won't turn this track ugly.

I also thought about the water analogy. Did you notice that any time they have spoken or dealt with their feelings it's always with water. Be it Aru breaking down after the wedding, Mukhi getting drenched in the rain after the realization, or the other water sequences in the last 2 episodes. Water is considered to be an symbol for emotions. Even in dream interpretation it's said that if you see water in your dreams most of the time it represents your emotional issues or upheavals. On the other hand it can also be said that their emotions are drenching them, washing over them completely. I like the use of water analogy to represent their emotional state. Just one hitch though, bechare actor cold cough se hamesha pareshan rehte honge 😆 kitni baar bhigna padta hoga 😆

Keep writing!!

I'm glad there someone else too who enjoyed the humor in this episode.. I loved Mukhi's terror when finding himself and Aru alone.. its written all over his face that he is having a hard time containing himself hence finding reasons to runway..also he knows where is this going and is not sure of what will they do once they accept or once she says it I guess. 😆

Loved your tank scene explanation, made it more meaningful. 👏

Initially I thought he might just say chacha bhar hai but looking at happy n dressed up Aru I feel he might have something meaningful other than I love you. He is gonna take a lot of time to actually say it rather his actions will speak louder I think.

Keep writing!!

I did enjoy the comedy...it was meant to be a break in the passionful sequences...also allows time for their hearts to settle. Thanks for posting here and would love to hear your views!

You've done such a fantastic analysis of the episode! You always give me a interesting new perspective to an episode I've watched and rewatched multiple times. I agree with every word you've written here. His love, his perspective, how he can longer remain in close proximity of her without being affected by her - you've totally nailed it! I also think that he'll say something sensitive in response to her love confession. This reminds me of Kabir's confession to Naina in Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani. Naina says she loves him too but also reminds him of how it's easy to say the words, lekin all the more difficult to fulfill and how their worlds are so different.

But you are right, Mukhiji's love confession will not just be saying the words. It'll be way more through his actions - giving her the freedom of choice, supporting her.

Even I was pondering on why they got the whole family involved in witnessing their blossoming love. My hunch is to use it when Dharmi makes a re-entry, to feed into her jealousy that her sister has a happy married life and everything that she could've had. Just my hunch.

I also really wanted a dialog from Rasika during the Naamkaran that it was Aru and Mukhi's turn next, just for the look on Mukhiji's face.. khair.. we still have scope for that I guess. Let's see!

Hi Restless, you are an awesome writer yourself, have read your articles and thank for posting , appreciating.
Its great that my perception is similar to yours...although we all don't know what the CVs have in mind. YJHD is a classy movie in its own...agree with the parallel. Aru wants more than Mukhi in her life..she wants Mukhi and her ambitions. And thats what he afraid, that she will lose perspective of that.
Your hunch regarding Dharmi may be very apt actually..I didn't think about that angle...also adding to that the whole family now things Aru Mukhi have a happy conjugal life..they may even tease about being in the water tank together just because they didn't get a room..ahem ahem.
This will come into play with Dharmi...true.

Maybe the comment from Rasika is yet to come..I actually wanted some scene where Aru is holding her niece and Mukhi goes gaga...but its okay. There is time for that.

Lovely, lighthearted, meaningful episode.

First of all, let me request all fellow readers to not give up on our Dukhi Mukhi...he definitely has feelings for her, and he will confess but not in the college boy style. His love declaration will not be just that he has pyar for her. It will be much more and said with the full depth of Mukhi's character. So wait for it, it will come in pieces. First he has to accept to her that he is crazy about her, that she is the color and charm in his otherwise dull life, and she brought him something that he thought he will never have in his life..true love. But even after he is able to express all this, the point remains...should he take her to Amboli or not. So , not taking her with him and letting her be in Ahamdabad is not his insensitivity, it can be his way of letting her know he loves her but she is free to come to him at her will, at her will only and he will not demand that of her just because he has feelings or he loves her or is married to her.

I want to thank the makers for giving us a lighthearted episode full of family and laughter after the seriousness of last week. This is a couple who has newly discovered attraction for each other...this is another new layer to their relationship which already had respect, trust and sincerity for each other. So like true newly weds, they now cannot take their eyes off each other..find each other attractive and want to live in their own private world , even in company of others. Mukhi for the first time views Aru as a woman..not as a little girl , and he is bedazzled, spellbound by her beauty and charms. And Aru..she is totally gone. She has eyes only for him. She has dressed and glorified herself only for him..and the attention he gives her boosts her madness even more 😳..Bashful Aru became a proud Aru , a woman who knows that her husband cannot take his eyes off her and takes pride in it. And our strong and mature hero, he is all but in a trance..he is too shy to return her teasing in public..but in fact loving this playful woman's charms which seem to bewitch him. So much so, he actually tries to hold her hand after the parents leave and keeps holding Rasika's hand for some time, until he sees Aru and mom in front of him😃

So no, he has come to come to quite an advanced stage actually...he is not afraid of holding her hand..but in general the man is not used to public demonstration of love...its not really upheld in standard Indian families and couples do try to keep their moh moh to the bedroom :)
His jumping and moving everytime she comes near him in the bedroom was comic to watch😃
but he was not doing comedy actually. Now, that they have experienced intense physical attraction, he cannot just sit by her in close proximity and not feel anything. Her every touch matters to him. Thats one thing. Second thing, he is so feeling defeated in his purpose to drop Aru back and leave her at AHMD, so on the verge of losing himself to her, now he is holding back tightly, its his last defense to her. So he knows fully well what she wants to express, but keeps avoiding it. If she does express her love, he cannot turn his back to her. Thats his fear.

Kis baat ka dar hai...she keeps asking. Darling, isko is baat ka dar hai, ki pyar mein behekar tum apne ambitions and sapno ka gala na ghot do. He is afraid that this love between them might kill her passion for her ambitions. And he has not gotten over the difference between his torn shoes and her city sandals. For that matter she has also not gotten over it. Though she thinks so. I would hate to see that after Mukhi melts towards her, she asks him to change his shoes or dhoti for her. Hopefully Aru will not do that and reassure Mukhi that she likes him as he is. Any changes in Aru and Mukhi should be heartfelt and driven from them individually and not because its forced .

So, the man is actually very intensely and acutely aware of her . He is completely attuned to her. And is at a loss of how to deal with her emotions, his emotions and the practical life ahead.

Anyway after some fighting and hiding, they end up in the water tank. Why the water tank? The makers could have used a garden swing, or have them talk behind bushes, or have them gone for a walk and late night chai, or hidden behind kitchen counter to talk ..they could have used so many places for a late night couples rendezvous. But instead they chose the water tank...and it seemed a very well thought out idea.
Before Aru Mukhi begin talking, the water tank is empty. Then the flow is started..a small meager pressure and some water starts flowing. They start getting drenched in it, soaked...its the second time in the day Aru is soaking... as she starts expressing her feelings, the water pressure increases, drop by drop, the tank gets filled. Word by Word, Mukhi's heart is getting filled with her love. The tank represents his heart. Its empty first, and her words of love , her expression that her happiness is with him and that love does not look at age , color , or religion...each of the wonderful things she says are filling his heart...those words are taking away his fear of rejection, his fear that if he expresses first its undue pressure on the girl..the water is drenching them in love and washing away fears.
Just think, if they just wanted the characters to express love in water, they could have used rain. Why tank? because they needed to show the emptiness first and show it then filling, and when it fills to the brim, our Mukhi will not hold his feelings anymore. He will not be able to hold in his feelings...his dam will burst..and now that she has expressed her feelings, he will be free to express his.
This does not mean he has agreed to take her to Amboli and keep her in a village all her life. This only means he will accept his feelings towards her. How they want to make their marriage work is yet to be played out.

Kudos to this expression by the CVs ...!!

Aru is Aru...she is the fiesty 22 year old who once has accepted her feelings wants to express it out without qualms. And the confidence to do so has come from Mukhi himself. He came after her to rescue her from goons, helped her escape fire, kissed and healed her feet , drenched her in cooling water, and brought he back to safety of her home. And then was mute looking at her beauty!
After all this Aru needs to more push to express herself! You go girl, the vibes of love you are feeling are true.

And I want to admire Aru here for backing off and giving Mukhi the option of not returning her love. I was so hoping for this strong Aru who does not force her love upon him ..and gives him the option of choosing her. When he did not say anything after her confession, she took two steps back accepted defeat...and told him that if he doesn't have these feelings, she will not bind him to her. She will let him go , and stay back at her home. Defeated but graceful! Loved her for that.

Mukhi stops her...lets see what happens tomorrow. He must say something nice enough for her to dress in that pretty red saree the next day morning! One thing I do want to mention. Aru's whole family has witnessed their attraction for each other during all the teasing in the evening. And Aru's mom noticed Mukhi tried to hold Aru's hand . And now they came to know Aru and Mukhi are probably on the terrace. Aru's uncle will also see them for sure on the terrace. After all this, Aru Mukhi will not be able to deny the marriage. There is no question of their family accepting that after they saw so many instances of the couple spending time alone. That is going to lead the story to somewhere...otherwise there was no reason to show the family witnessing AruMukhi bonding.

Loved Loved Aru's pride when her family were tying Mukhi's pagdi ..what best does a girl in love want? The guy's eyes upon her and her family's blessings upon him She got that today. But pagdi also means code of respect. Her uncle giving respect to Mukhi by tying his pagdi..possibly is going to come into picture pretty soon.We might see some situation where Mukhi will save their honour.

Hi! Blue ...Yes dear you know me, I am the same Whitepearl who left the forum long time back but could't help but join again to read such heartwarmimg thoughts on my favourite show. ...lovely post and so weel explained👏👏👏. I second all the bold letters you have said. And the tank secene and symbolism ...wonderfully analyzed. I am so pleasently surprised to read your perseption of compairing filling of Tank and filling of heart with love...drop by drop. 👏😳 . How true and romantic. Mukhi was trying so hard to avoid Aru, yet every bit of him is yearing for her. His is having a tussle between his heart and mind. He does loves her so that is why he wanst her to fulfill her dreams while staying back in Ahemdabad. And you are also right about him thinking how the family would react if they'll see them together like this...poor Mukhi must be going through hell at this moment. Aru's confession,... her dreams,... Mukhi being a stumbling block in her way..., family's reaction..., the pain of seperation ...there much be a bombardment of emotions he is going through...and at such a time only few words he blurted out..."Nahin jane de sakta.." these are the most heart wrenching and emotional words he has said so far...And guess Aru was wating just for these words for him to speak.

Hi dear Blue...beautiful write-up. Agree with your post...my agreement is mostly on 5 things that you have stated: - One, that even if it was humourous, it remained quite a meaningful episode. Due to the cute and really laughable antics of Mukhi (the bed scene had me in splits)..the episode was not casual...it was light yet meaningful..i needed that break from last week's intense and a bit OTT kidnapping drama.
Second, I loved Mukhi's restraint...he loves her. Period. But he is way too concerned about the relationship or Aru, per se, that confession is not coming easy to him. In any case, he is always a Man of few words...his confession will definitely not be like the debonair heroes in the other shows..he is gentle, shy, cares for Aru's dreams...aware about their differences and therefore, the hesitation...basically, loved his restraint...quite like his character. Third, I Loved Aru's characterisation...the way she said it...and then in the lack of appropriate reciprocation she backed off...I, just like you, did not want her to be a chipku. She is honest, straight-forward yet gives him his space...it makes her character mature...a bit like the diary girl...seriously wanted this. Next, Aru-Mukhi's conversation...I was missing this aspect in this relationship from the longest time...I would have loved a good conversation in the jeep when they were travelling from Amboli to Ahmedabad...so good that at last...the dialogues are happening...she called him to the terrace and he actually went there...this reciprocation in the equation was something in terms of verbal exchange was clearly needed. She was saying..he was listening...she was probing him...and he was all ears...loved that part. And Finally, the overall humour...even though there is tension in the air...the way it was mixed in humour was something I really appreciate. IT was a bit situational and slightly slap-stick, which is what I really enjoy. I don't watch fiction to be stressed out...after a hard day's toil. The fun element should remain for as long as possible.
Thanks for making the effort for writing this Blue...enjoyed reading!! 😊

Thanks Debashri, love to hear from you. Especially about Saanvi track since CVs are bringing her in tomorrow..would love to hear your side of the perception regarding Saanvi-Aru.

Great we agreed on so many things...also would like to hear your analysis or perception on other things as well, even if we differ. Afterall these are interpretations..but I know you analyze and pen well.

Amidst all this drama we all missed out a point that Mukhiji doesn't want Aru's family to know that they have not been sleeping together. There is something that's going on in his mind.. that's what the creatives want to show probably. Mukhi surely knows that Aru has fallen for him.. but is teasing her to intensify the passion in her love. May be he wants to see Aru transforming from a girl to a woman. May be he has some most intense and romantic plans of love confession.. and has been holding on to his feelings for that very right moment, after he is sure of her love. I think he wants to see Aru madly in love with him.. unknowingly not realising that he himself is going head over heels in this love confession drama.

Thanks Shajanya. Hope the water tank interpretation made sense and hope makers have the same direction. True, you raise a very valid point. Mukhi didnt want them to know that they do not sleep together. And he knows Aru has fallen for him. ...if he is waiting for Aru to be a woman and be mad about him, thats a different angle totally...why would he drop her to AHMD in that case...or he need to do so she can evaluate her feelings...
Good angle..!!

Yes Vidya..Saanvi angle is again coming into play..but I think this time around..Aru has confidence in Mukhi because he talked to her about it. So she will defend Mukhi here. And maybe explain to Mukhi in private that society views things differently. Buts thats just my guess lets see.

@ bold...AGREE word to word...Aru Mukhi love water...and each expression in them begins and ends with water. You rightly reminded me of Aru's post wedding breakdown in water...you know what...you helped me see a loop here. Aru was in waist length water ..in her break down scene. Today again in the tank, she is in waist length scene!!!!!!! Do you see what I am talking about?
Glass half full half empty concept. Then, her glass was half empty...she felt she lost everything due to that marraige. Today in the same waist lenght water she has expressed her love...her glass is HALF FULL. 👏👏
Thanks for this point!!

And yes , I also sympathize with the actors for all the waterworks and fireworks!!.

as usual beautifully analysed Jalpariji
these lines especially-

so so agree with u!! ab pehli jaisi baat nahi rahi..the very sight of her makes his heart skip a beat..he gets nervous taaki he doesnt forget what his irada was to begin with..that to let go of her for her own betterment..he is already losing this battle between mind and heart..top of it Aru's firm determination is making him more weak..it's not that he doesnt want her in his life or such actions of Aru making him angry..he is happy actually..the man is in love and that too very much in love..but he is not able to think straight..pehle toh he believes she wont be happy with him pata nahi kyu aur doosri he is thinking she cannot fulfill her dreams with him by her side..yeh soch hi galat hai Mukhiji ka..Aru can very well fulfill her dreams in Amboli with all his assistance..in fact that would be far more easier than Aru in A'bad without Mukhiji...unnko yeh yakeen karane ki zaroorat hai...once he is convinced he is all for Aru.
dekha jaye toh I feel sad for him..banda is torn..he loves her to the bits and believes he cannot have her for some silly reasons which are not silly to him

Meanwhile I am posting something on Nahin jane de sakta. hope you'll like it
