I hope even with IPL our TRP doesn’t drop too much. Also, how many people are still watching YHC on TV the even with IPL? We really need the TRP guys! YRHPK is going off air due to low TRP and I would hate for our show to follow the same fate :(

Their numbers were very low considering the slot. In fact in the recent weeks, they were the least/second least watched show on the channel. So I guess it’s no surprise that it is bring axed.

YHC is currently doing well at the 10:30pm slot. As long as it maintains 1.8ish ratings, it’s safe I guess. And again we are the slot leader too and by a huge margin of around 1.0 points.
Let’s see how the launch of BiggBoss, Ram Pyaare Sirf Hamare and IPL affect the ratings. As long as we are in top on StarPlus and are slot leaders, there should be no problem.

Are you from India? If you are please watch on TV AND hotstar. Since at the end of the day TV TRP is what matters more than hotstar.

Oh okay. UK TRP also matters a lot cause we need to ensure we are at least topping the charts there even if the TRP goes very low due to IPL in India. So if you have TV please watch on TV as well in addition to Hotstar.

Only BARC TRP matters. Hotstar overall viewership itself is small compared to TV reach. So doesn’t matter. Gauging the popularity of a show is difficult. Maybe you can ask different kinds of people around you about the show. YHC has an advantage of being the spin off of a successful YHM. So I guess even if they haven’t watched the show per se, people would at least know of it. From numbers we can say that the show’s popularity is increasing. And the fact that it is No.3 on the channel despite a late night slot is great.

And the fact that they are retelecasting our parent show YHM on TV again is also a good thing. And as you mentioned, StarPlus only gives repeats and KATs to shows it cares about and the channel only cares about shows bringing in numbers. Well there are a few perks/leeway given considering it is an Ekta show. But hey, even Ekta can only do so much!

Another important thing is once a show becomes established, it is given more flexibility even if ratings drop a bit once in a while. This has been observed for shows like YHM and YRKKH. For almost a year, YHM ran with very average ratings only. If it had been any other show, they’d have axed it sooner. But since YHM has been greatly successful for the channel, they had been more considerate and also have brought a spin off. Establishing a base audience is really important.

Yo!

One curious thing I have noticed is on Instagram other FDs post their photos/videos & use the tag #yehhaichaahatein etc?

Is this normal? Why would they do that?

Some literally use the tag of every show on Hindi TV lol

Even generally, people use different hash tags for better reach. It’s quite normal.
