Nice post Minu! Though I agree on some points n disagree on some!
I think the show is not even 10 percent of what it started off as...it gained it's peak when Sameer fell in love with Naina...n slowly it went downhill.
I would actually have liked to see Shefali helping Samaina love story post the bet...but the revelation of bet to her never happened. Shefjun was a confused mix. Arjun's character was distorted n I kind of think they should limit Taiji talks...it gets boring...ek scene ko itna lamba khinchne ki need nai h...n the mama mami...eww...I don't like them both. I'm sure they'll turn out negative. Plus the Delhi track, hits n misses were a put off for me.
But then, I actually feel that Sameer n Naina are quite opposites. Of course, if one is different from the other, doesn't mean they'll be different in everything. Infact, somewhere deep down, your core set of values must match n for Samaina...a pleasing similarity came in the form of their family bg. I too miss their telephone convos night long wale, the innocent talks, the songs they used to play, Sam n Naina's signals...n of course their heart to heart talks.
Waxing, shaving, periods is a very interesting n bold move n it has been shown well till now. But one need not go overboard with Naina plucking off a piece of her eyebrow by mistake or Sameer cutting himself with the razor by accident. I actually liked when they showed Naina having complex because of her unwaxed legs n though Sameer wanted to comfort her, he couldn't do so as they were not so casual in those days. They are taking baby steps towards each other. Sameer loves Naina for who she is n I'm perfectly fine with Naina's reaction when some girl tries to flirt with her man. I too wouldn't stand it. She trusts Sameer, but she doesn't like the attitude of other girls. Though till now, we've not seen Naina get conscious about her looks. Had that been the case, she would have thought why will a rich, handsome guy like Sameer fall for me. But this thought never crossed her mind. She believed that he wanted to be friends with her.
But now she's in college, exposed to more fashionable icons...but still she resists...until she feels mortified that Sameer saw the hair growth on her feet. She suddenly feels what if Sameer will find her repulsive. Love doesn't need flawless appearances, n it really doesn't matter for them, but then to stun your boyfriend is a blissful feeling...when you see him staring at you open-mouthed...that's what Naina wants...Sameer pe bijli girana...after all, physical intimacy is also a part of love...slowly they would go over to the zones where they would want the other to want to touch them or like what they see n touch. They would want their bodies to be perfect n likeable as per the norms. Very natural, considering it's the 90s era...opening up n not bothering about things was not easy. Maybe still isn't...But I'm glad the VO does tell us that none of it never mattered to them both...their love always transcends all...that's maturity...more than we can expect for 18 to 19 year old kids in love :)
That said...I'm irritated at the snail pace n the absurd n irrelevant stretched out family scenes...n the way Sunaina ogles at Sameer...girl! You are unwanted...I want Sameer to give her n the other girls a piece of her mind.
Completely my POV...views can differ :) Still giving the show a chance to spring back to the original charismatic show it was!

Wonderful analysis minu
I totally agree. .that I would be attracted to a person who is similar to me.. (in mannerisms) but not a complete opposite.. Because eventually it may lead to tiffs.
Samaina have a lot of similarities.. Their heart is pure and kind..

Very well written post but I still believe in opposites attract each other. When I say opposites attract that means the outer personalities of individual can be opposite but core is similar. Why such people have liking for each other is simply because you find missing character from your personality into others which kind of make 2 individual complete. But these 2 opposites people posses same personality from inner core. Don't know whether it is making sense but this is what I believe.
Sameer saying humme bahut difference thaa was basically finanial
Status and their outer looks. But as you mentioned their core is same.
I don't see these days they are trying to show anything about Samaina. They are more concentrating on collage phase and kids going through that phase. For me show's centerline has changed.

Lovely post Minu! It does feel like they keep going a bit retrograde every now and then. I think the problem is they gave us very pure love and sensitive maturely behaving Samaina very early on. It's hard to take it to another level. So, now we see all these other issues cropping up and their behaviour feels a bit out of character. I guess we have to accept it as adolescence playing it's part.

Thanks May for appreciation 😳 You have said it all.👍🏼

I feel somewhere along the way, the writers lost the original plot they had written (I mean like literally lost the book or pages), then new writers came in who had no idea of what the original plot was or the nature of these characters.
Then they started weaving a tale which could not connect well to the base plot at all.

The current issues they are trying to show is still okay, maybe it could have been refined better.
But then that makes me wonder if they could have still shown all of this keeping Nanaji alive and Sameer never making a trip to Delhi, because the characters in Delhi really never added any value to the story.

Anyway, this is just my opinion. No offence to anyone. And sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings.

This is what I was about to write
There's so much they could explore...sensible scenes in library or with principal or Anand Chachu telling them to focus on getting distinction ( maybe enrol in typing / steno classes) bcoz those days, it was very imp/ stressed to do well academically hence get job) or Chachi communicating to the girls to never forget their limits amidst their fun at college life...again I don't want to sound critical but we could get many brilliant scenes here,..the age, the background is proper...
The CVs need to gear up...take a few ideas and get back to being unique, non stereotypes
Sorry if I sound confused

Brilliant analysis
