Hi All,
Finally I am back. I have have fairly caught up on the episodes too. I am yet to watch 3-4 episodes, but thanks to @braveheartdoc and @samaina_1990 I am up-to-date with the story.😊Naina...who is she? A regular normal 16 year old with lots of dream and suppressed desires. A human with flesh and blood. A human who is as flawed as anyone else. A young girl still trying make find herself and her place in this world. A young girl who is on the cusp of adulthood and yet a child in so many ways. A child who is not exposed to the outside world. There is one thing I have or rather I and my hubby has learnt in our relationship of 18 years (we started young..we started dating when we were 18-19 year old😉) is that it is okay to make mistakes. As human beings first, we should allow ourselves that leeway. No one hurts the other on purpose. Yes, we fight and we make up. And it is okay. It is human. We all are flawed. We are the product of our pasts and our choices. So why aren't we allowing Naina to make mistakes? We were quick to forgive Sameer for his mistakes. Why not Naina? Both have flaws and both have been wrongs in some ways. And it is okay. It is important to have Empathy. One thing I really like about this serial is that there is no villain. People are real with various flaws. Just like how it is in real world. People in this serial are not evil. Yes, they might have made mistakes, reacted badly to different circumstances. Even Taiji is not 'evil'. She is bad mouthed and nasty sometimes. But not evil. Now, Naina is being bought up by her uncle and aunt. She lost her mother to death and lost her father to her brother and his ambitions. She has to live that fact for everyday of her life. She is timid, a 'good girl', obedient, good student etc etc etc... But why is she like that? Why does she puts herself on such pedestal? Why does she has such expectation from herself? Because subconsciously she is afraid and insecure. What if no one will want her if she is not so good girl? May be her father will acknowledge her once if she is good? It is survival instinct buried deep.We really got to see the real Naina in Mt. Abu, did we not? The mischievous one who created a scare of Chudail. The deeply loving person who is free and open with her affection. The soulful one who creates stories and shares them with her Sameer. The bold on who let Sameer into her room for the night. The Naina in Agarwal home and the Naina in Mt. Abu are two different people. Once she let out her real self, there is a clear conflict now. I hope I get to see the journey of reconciling both sides of her.Now coming to Sameer breaking her heart. Tell me one thing? What would you have done if you were in Naina's place? Naina does not know the daily struggle Sameer had within himself about this bet. She is not a mind reader. No matter how much I understand my husband and been with him for 18 years, I cannot read his mind! The only facts she knows is the Sameer approached her for a relationship, he made all the moves, then when she said 'I Love you' , the bet boys came and told the whole thing. It was not Sameer who confessed it, she got to know it from other people who witnessed a very intimate moment between her and Sameer. It was a big deal for her to hug him and express her love and it was witnessed by all these boys and were there for a bet. And now Sameer is asking sorry. Why can not she take her time to see the real Sameer and decide if she can trust him again? And yes, She has made mistakes too. She mistook Sameer to have stolen those papers. The circumstances were difficult and anyone could have easily misunderstood Sameer, based on his previous mischief. I am not saying Sameer is wrong. Just that both have done mistakes. That is all. And then she came to know that it was Arjun who stole the paper. Why she did not tell anyone? There is this thing called Family loyalty. Why will she betray her brother of 16 years for a boy she met just couple months back? And here is when the cracks started to appear in her 'goody-two-shoes' persona. She started encountering grey shades of life.I am excited to see her journey from wide eyed, innocent, naive Naina to the real person she can become. I am looking forward to see her journey from this 'fairy tale' love story she had imagined to real life, messy love story.LoveKshithi

Hi Kshithi,
👏 👏 👏
I am so impressed with your POV and the way you have expressed it! Very very well done.
I have really been feeling so baffled by this weight of expectations from a 16 year old. Is it really that easy for any of us to stand up against our family and expose their mistakes to the wider world? If it was so simple so many kids of parents who take bribes or evade taxes should be exposing their families and bringing them to justice!
Naina is a young girl who is severely limited in terms of having a voice of her own in most situations. Also like all of us she has weaknesses and still a very long way to go in life where she can come into her own. And so does Sameer.
Thanku Kshithi for writing this...Tats why i wanted to kno ur views ...i njoy reading ur thought process n very well much relate to the 90 eras that u bring forth thru ur writing n xperiences...!Gud to feel relieved aftr reading sme xcellent views

Hi Kshithi! I've been following your diaries for sometime now...It was a brave move to share real-life experiences...but they were surely insightful to read, especially when we are discussing about a story nearly three decades old. So thank you for that!
About this part- I'm in awe of you. There's been so much of discussion going on this topic on the forum these days- who should have done what and why did they not do it..but you've explained things in a really simple manner. Yes we are all flawed. No one is perfect. We as viewers understand what Sameer is going through, but Naina doesn't. Like the way, Sameer never knew what Naina was subjected to back home, when he took up the bet. Had they known all this about each other, the story would not have unfolded the way it has. Even in real life, what's a love story without some twists. You compared the real Naina and the Naina she shows herself as to people. The same with Sameer. If it hadn't been the bet, he might never have got involved with Naina. Even if he had, it is realizing Naina's goodness and how mean he was with her, bought out the real, responsible, caring Sameer. The Sameer who would own upto his actions, realize it's okay to let go of your ego someday and that someone can love him to this extent. He realized her value when she was gone. That is what really happens in life too, I feel.If I see the story, I relate to Naina a lot. I understand her two personalities- the second one is known only to a select few- those closest to her heart. I too understand Sameer, coz I see a lot of my husband in him. I've first hand experience (both good and bad) of how we often misunderstand people based on what they seem on the outside. And deep down, they can be someone completely different. All in all, looking forward to more of your posts Kshithi...and from your forumname- I'm guessing you are a Harry Potter fan..if so, this is another interest I share with you!! 😊

Thanks a lot. 😊You are absolutely right. We all react differently to different circumstances. Naina and Sameer are two different people. And just as Sameer has learned few things and have grown as a person, Naina will too. They are both still young. They have a long journey ahead of them.We both are alike in the sense that we both understand Naina and Sameer both. I can relate to both of them.Of course I am a HP fan. 😃 So glad to know another one. Now I know if I make HP reference there is someone who will understand. 😆Reading HP bought back my memories of reading Chandamama...LoveKshithi
