Interesting discussion, girls. I haven't watched the episodes since last Thursday, just relying on the WU for now. I guess I'm yet to come out of the jhatka I got from Subbu's terrace shenanigans.😆
For now, I have decided to just go with the flow and not worry myself over all these spoilers that are floating around - separation, miracle baby, 10 year leap, ShaRam-IshBu, etc. Will cross the bridge when we come to it.
As for the other show preceding YHM in the sanskari slot, the dialogues and their delivery itself is so dramatic, and the scenes are dragged for so long with the same melodramatic dialogues repeated over and over again. I have no clue how the tracks are built so cannot comment on that. The show seems almost like a spoof of the typical characterization of a desi daily soap. But the other one which had the #1 rating for a long time, had very crisp tracks, the dialogues were good, the camera work was excellent..there was a good flow in the storytelling. Despite all that I could not make myself to watch that show of course. It didn't have that pull somehow, or the oomph factor..and their romance and chemistry was very bland. As for EK's other show in the other channel, the whole story is really stupid, there is no moral to the story, no message, and the tracks are rather repetitive and going around in circles with no progress.
Anyway, coming to our show, I always like when they show routine everyday moments in YHM..the family/characters carry it out perfectly. There is a nice equation between the actors offscreen which reflects in their onscreen moments. Like you all, I would also love to see them focus more on the complexities of parenting, Adi's conflict between Shagun's and Ishita's upbringing and how IshRa acknowledge and react to it. IshRa trying for a baby, and once pregnant, how it affects Adi & Ruhi, etc. If they slow down the pace they can carry on without a leap till the end of the year with the open tracks they have on hand, I feel. Well if the same PH could drag a kidnap track for over a month in the other show, surely they are familiar with the routine. I just don't understand the need for the jet-speed treatment to the IshRa focused tracks.
The pace of YHM has always been inconsistent ever since the timeslot change. Important tracks have been rushed to conclusion while tracks like the Shagun wedding and Sautan bani saheli have been dragged mercilessly. I would have really liked some more footage to the Mihir-Rinki track, a gradual progression in their relationship instead of an overnight transformation. Ishita's past revisited upon Subbu's entry in the show, well my rant will never end on that one, so I don't want to start it. And I agree the execution lacks big time with all the tracks..the writing part is alright I suppose, but somewhere between the director's vision for the scenes, the screenplay, the camerawork, editing...everything feels inadequate and leaves a lot to be desired. In Aani's words, its lost in translation 😆 Its only the IshRa/DivAn magic and the performance by most of the supporting actors that has been carrying the show so gracefully until now inspite of all the hiccups.
