N one of the interview of sonali jaffer I had read ppl loose interest in serial after confession.. Ppl don't loose interest after confession ..its u ppl stretch it so much that the story looses it charm.. U can a leap from yeh rista ..couple confessed n still madly in love n dey celebrated their 1800 episode .WHR if u remember kyunki what has tulsi s age n after so many episode ..their is request to creative team . don't stretch too much the bond with serial breaks..

Truthfully I think it's insulting of these so called creatives to belittle the Indian television viewing society so much. By constantly churning out deviations of the same crap, all these PH just prove they don't think the Indian soap viewing society has the ability to appreciate something different. I refuse to belive that the "TRP" junta is not willing to accept something different on TV because no matter your education level, you can find beauty and connection to a well crafted piece of art.

I believe there is both TONS of greed & some real psychology behind why the OTT drama shows ended up beating out well crafted shows of the past.

For money, they clearly can compromise creativity and respect for their viewers. Not only that but overworked actors rarely speak out against the stupidity on their shows out of fear of being replaced by the bosses. Such a disappointing culture of the Indian television industry.

Exactly yaar! Ppl used to watch good shows before but now patronized to this pathetic stories only becoz they dont hv many options. Ekta shows conditioned ppl mentally to watch trash n accept it!
We badly need a,new good production house who can think out of the box. N dare to show it without changing storyline.

I just stopped watching this trash with that infamous sharam anniversary episode.

Their profit matters so it means any shit is acceptable? Is profit the only motive? It is like saying only earning money is important even if you earn it via unethical means!!!

They think we write repetitive stuff on them but forget what repetitive stuff they write.

Hypocrisy

u see cos at the end of the day any show too is a business venture...

So tall claims goes down the drain , characters , script , storyline everything is thrown out of the window and eventually wht stays back trps.

Bohot logon ka ghar chalta hai in shows se isliye inko band nahi karna chahiye'

Kya logic hai ...? The workers are left with no choice but to keep working on hte same thing over and over again. They are not allowed to take other projects but there is no guarantee the show will not go off air in a month. Ye hai security ? Ye hai logic ki shows off air kyu nahi jana chahuye ? Longevity decides the success rate of the show not quality n story line???!!

Having a pre decided story line with limited episodes will also calm down the fans who are disappointed when a show goes off air. See no body complained when MB ended.

Its the makers and the whole stupid structure that kills everything. The make the actors work 15-26 hours daily and make the show air six times a week. More the quantity, less the quality. No growth at all for actors.

I have left al Hopes of YHM , RKB returning Back...

This is what I wonder. Why did they have to dumb down RKB in the 7.30 pm slot. He was one of the most perfect Tele characters'. He ranked high up, second to none.

Now due to this stupid IshRu saga, they have ruined the show all the more.

Why don't the makers give enough credit to the people watching their shows that we would have enough brains to enjoy something different and not just lap up the same trash that is being shown on each n every Indian channel !

Jaya...If we follow Lucky's Post...
Makers and Channel have decided now That They are gonna concentrate on Market B Audience.

Earlier they were trying to handle both the Markets but now the Decision has been Made...

I hope Market A Customers find something better and get accustomed to Other product.

Of course Profit only matters in telly world. I know what reply critics got when they questioned the screenplay writer of yhm.I know people bashed him so badly yet his statement was bit amusing for me that 'If you want to watch, watch it others stay away from it'. Writers act smug on Twitter and in media.

They thrive on mediocrity and exploiting masses! They indeed get successful in satisfying a few mass by exploiting them. They make them believe in what they show. Media is Media always.

I watch only news, movies or cartoons now.these r the only thing left for ppl like us.

I badly miss 90s shows and some 2000s shows like Special Squad, Khichdi, Sarabhai vs Sarabhai. Why we get only formulaic trash now? 😕

Hey Jaya...
nice post & valid questions.

i have a more cynical take on it. I think they DID have confidence in the product. but... It doesn't take a lot of time for confidence to become over-confidence, over-confidence to turn into arrogance, and arrogance to give way to absurdity 😳

I am not sure they even tried to retain the original essence though. it was almost as if they thought they'd be shown the door by the audience. The TRP audience looks for shock-value-entertainment based on drama, drama and drama. Consistency, social messages, logic cannot really compete with that demand

A good discussion in the forum...
I too wonder about Indian dramas preferring to go tot he Saas Bahu story line sometime. In Western series, once a formula becomes hit, the creatives tend to stick to the formula with little alterations. Why can't desi makers do the same. The worst part is social message themes are brought in but never researched properly, flounders in the middle and get swept off... very frustrating and disappointing.

Anyway, who am I to talk; no idea about how TRP or sponsorship works in India.
