very good que...but u shud ask this que to the makers...dont they have confidence on wat they made for 11pm audience wud also be suitable to 7:30pm audience? was it necessary to butcher the characters and torture us daily with this melodrama n OTT drama?

The show is unrecognisable and miles away from what we saw at 11 pm

Now all we see is drama

And lots of airhead

So in short makers and channel have fixed notions and ideas about what works at what timeslot

Perfectly said... a real valid point that really needed to be expressed. I don't understand at all. I used to be so excited about this show and the characters... not so much anymore. I am more excited about certain FFs then the show right now... that's not a good thing. I don't want to repeat the same thing you all have said except to say it's a real shame that the CVs don't have half the faith in their characters and possible serious angle of the tracks that their true audience, the real fans do...instead all we get is negativity.

There is a place for conflict and drama in a soap, and life... but what we have now is cartoon-ish at best, no longer is it about adding to the complexity of the story or exploring the psychology of the character, it's now all about the TRPs and just having negativity for negativity's sake... and where's the point in that?

I'm still holding on, but for how long I don't know. Too many loyal fans have left, lets hope the CVs don't wait until we all make an exit to make the change.. because as much as they have a choice to show these tracks we have a choice too...to change the channel.😒

YHM used to be about conflict & drama, but good would always win. We would see a focus on small moments in different relationships, but now it's a mess. Once in a few episodes they will show is a meaningful scene with relatable emotions, like before.

It's a disappointment to see how much they have compromised the characters & storytelling method to fit the new slot. All these tracks they have show us, except Mihika-Ashok & Mihir-Rinki actually marrying, seem to have been pre-planned, but they continually botch the execution because they are trying to be "flashy" (aka OTT drama).

The reason I think the overall track themes (including the current one) were planned early in the show is because the theme of the track is actually deep & meaningful. Plus during one of the celebrations, KP said they had enough storyline for 1000+ episodes, which I can believe. They just changed their execution of these tracks which have compromised almost every character and a lot of the honest emotion. Since the time slot change, I looked forward to most tracks they showed us, but then within a week of the track, crap would hit the fan and I lost my excitement thanks to shoddy execution,

We used to see meaningful dialogs & scenes that either served a purpose or had a positive spin for the viewers, but now every dialog and scenario appears to be crafted for the next annoying kaand. There are 100s of example over the last 2 months of scenes & dialogs looking too forced.

Finally negativity has overtaken in the show. Their execution has been botched because of the constant negativity they shove down our throats.

We fell in love with this show because even with drama, it was positive. We would rewatch episodes because they made you feel good, or they were so emotionally powerful that you couldn't help but rewatch it.

It's a real shame how low this show has plunged despite the fact the makers can clearly fix things. They have given us a handful of good, old-YHM episodes over the last 6 months, which shows that they are capable of creating magic.

We can only hope they realize this and save this show before it sinks too far.

Sorry for rambling, but your post is something I have felt for a while & even more so over the last few weeks!

Thanks for opening up this dialog even if it doesn't matter at all to the money-driven CVs, production house, channel, stars, & other invested parties of this show!

It is 400 odd episodes and the leads have turned into bumbling fools ! There is no coherence to the story.

Why so?! Why negativity attracts ppl?

I.cannot believe that audience like to see such drama. same people watched better shows earlier but patronise rubbish and accept it as a way of life. Viewers seem to have been conditioned to accept trash now. Dragging is necessary, saas bahu is needed etc.

IMO shows should have fixed story beforehand. Not change according to response. Different subjects be there. They ought to be finite Only Indian show makers have the privilege to change their product mid way.
As a matter of fact they should air finished products only.

In the 90s also, there were shows on channels like Doordarshan and Zee, in which women led an independent life, raised kids on their own..husband supporting wife.

So why can't such stories be shown now?

Instead of showing issues of infertility , divorce, remarriage custody of kids adoption, identity crisis, confusion, effect on psyche, lost childhood and whatnot, they are hell bent on making it like pathetic drama.

All becoz of trp system people are being conditioned to keep their mental horizons this limited!

I believe the 80s and 90s generation is the last one to have seen good shows. The 2000 one has been pelted with worst trash and dumbing down agenda ever!

Someone should throw out this trp system.. It completely destroyed Indian tv. No one dares to take up new story everywhere same pathetic drama n situation is so bad that ph n story writer doesn't even leave mythological stories. Even in them they want to introduce unnecessary drama n pathetic tracks

Creatives are obviously responsible for this mess but I also think a lot of it has to do with starplus, the channel heads constantly pressurize the show runners to bring in melodrama and ott drama for trps, and writers have no option but to oblige. we may be emotionally attached to this how but writers are not, it's easier for them to butcher the characters and original premise. those who write for YHM also write for other balaji shows, so they have no time to get emotionally attached to the shows--instead they work like machines to churn out episodes and fill air times. sometimes when their brains are not working properly, they just write crap to fill up 20 minutes. it's all very robotic and business-like, I doubt they care much about the shows they write for.
