@Krishy: I would like to get a study done as well on all the topics you mentioned, I might have 6 months off from school, I will volunteer to stay in the scorching heat of Mumbai just to ask a few questions to the writers so we can conduct the study you mentioned.@G: You are awesome for giving us a space to vent every single day. You rock!

Ganbarun,I usually try to look at things from a different perspective, and the reasons I have been hooked onto YHM,are its layered writing, and cryptic characters, especially RKB.The CVs have always left us room open for interpretation.
Today's episode stretched my patience to breaking point.Amen to everything you wrote.I felt as though I were watching Saath Nibhana Sathiya.
So Vandu tried to engineer a truce between Ishita and Mihika, and Ishita almost cracked, going into fb mode.Mihika weeps at Akka's contempt, and lays her claim to sainthood, through her martyrdom for Mihir. Lady, you should be grateful she did not chop you into tender morsels, and serve you up as kebabs to her delightful in-laws.You got her into this mess, first with your "I will save Shagun from the horrible serpent" campaign, and then "I will save Mihir from death by hanging." You practically threw Akka under the bus,by leaving Shagun and Adi wide open as loose ends. She has been put into a Catch 22 situation, and frankly I do not see how the CVs manage to resolve this one.Even if Ruhi does stand up for Ishima during Lohri, that does not get SHADI out of the house and lives of the Bhallas.
The real culprits, however, behind the obnoxious dilemma that Ishita faces today, are her father and FIL.We have long written off Toshi as an opportunistic bigot, and that ship sailed a long time ago.
But Mr Om Prakash Bhalla, where is the decisiveness that you displayed when your family had its back pressed against the wall during Ruhi's custody case the first time around?Nobody wanted Ishita in the house except you,but you had the guts to take everyone on.In the NY debacle, you merely said what was happening was wrong.Like a side commentary. And when your tunnel-visioned spouse remarked that Adi looked so happy, you smiled wanly.Today when your assinine grandson referred to your DIL as a neighbour, you kept mum.Bravo! Ruhi's custody has been decided in your family's favour permanently. Is that why Ishita no longer counts as a human being? I know that custody was granted to Ishita Bhalla, but you know that she will never walk out.At heart, she's traditional, and considers marriage to be a sacred bond. Why are you allowing her beliefs to be mocked? Why does it take your granddaughter to recognise and address your DIL's pain, and not you?YOU brought Ishita into the family. Now you appear to be self-serving.
Mr. Vishwanathan Iyer, what in God's name were you thinking? For those of us who taunt Ishita's generosity as 'mahaanta',I would like them to remember that she did not want to get married to Raman in the first place. All her love for Ruhi could not persuade her to commit a suicidal act.She said no,and then you resorted to archaic emotional blackmail, going on a hunger strike. She was still reluctant and tried to wriggle out of it.She placed a condition that Raman would never agree to,that of Mihir's surrender. It is not a crime to be a single professional woman. It is unusual to remain single, but it is NOT a crime.Becoming Ruhi's mother was not the same as adopting Ruhi in isolation. You were aware of the lunacies of the Bhalla clan from the start. For heaven's sake, they even hid the fact that Raman had another child from your family. You knew your daughter's nature, you knew that she always put others first,to the point of being exploited.Did it feel good to see your daughter's MIL blasting her for carelessness about Adi,when she herself had brought Adi back, effectively signing her own rights away? That's why Raman loves Ishita, you told Madhavi, and went back to your crossword puzzle. So Raman would not love Ishita if she had put her foot down and said,I came here for Ruhi, not Adi?
RKB,what can I say?I have always tried to find some sort of intellectual explanation for your bloopers,to absolve you.Right now,I'm running on empty.Your inexplicable obsession towards Adi is confirming my worst fears, that you have unresolved feelings towards Shagun that you haven't addressed. You had told Toshi that Adi was representative of the happier times you spent with Shagun, the first time you allowed Ishita to be humiliated. In getting close to Adi again, are you reliving the halcyon days with Shagun,I.e. are you getting closer to Shagun again vicariously? And how long before the lines of your subconscious and conscious blur, and you make the final overture to her,all in the name of your son's happiness?Right now,you have a bee in your bonnet about Ishita, but is it just physical attraction that you're trying to wrap very nicely as love,to assuage your guilt? You could not even tolerate the mere mention of Subbu and Mani had you drawing daggers? Despite whatever Ishita had said, why did you conveniently accept her assurance at face value, that she was not insecure about Shagun?Even when you took the high road, you could not bear the sight of Ishita and Mani together, and you had to emigrate to Singapore. Why did you give identical earrings to Ishita,to prove that she had parity with Shagun? They were not family heirlooms anyway, not when you had them made. Why not create a new tradition with a different design
